Pros: - Fast- Quiet- High-quality Comment:
Since this is an OEM drive it arrives in a plastic bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, with no manuals/cds/anything (as one would expect). It took me about 30 seconds to switch it out with my old DVD drive and it was recognized immediately when I booted up my PC.I successfully ripped a DVD to .mp4 to watch on my android device in about 7 minutes. I haven't been able to test writing a blu-ray disc with it yet (they're in shipping still), but I tried backing up The Dark Knight (~38-40Gb) from disc to my HDD which took about 10 mins.In both cases the drive ran extremely quiet, hardly audible, and I'm very impressed with the speed.Highly recommend this drive! |

Cons: Lacks a retail box. Arrived with just a plastic bag and instruction manual. No big deal at all.
Pros: Looks good. Price is terrific compared to just a couple of years ago. Comment:
Paid with debit in-store so no verified owner status. Works as expected. Plays and burns without any issues. This unit is replacing an LG GGC-H20L which I paid $168 way back in 2008. |

Cons: -Does not come with any software for blu-ray playback or back up, so if it's a new build, you will have to find the software elsewhere
Pros: -Nice brushed metallic finish on the face plate Comment:
I bought this item to replace my defective samsung blu-ray drive. I have existing software for blu-ray playback so it's not so much an issue for me, but if it's for a new build, it would be nice it if came with some software. The button to open/close the tray is hidden; it's more like a bump on the face plate. I find it has its pro's and con's with the new button design. Good because it gives it a more discrete look but don't like it because you will sometimes have trouble looking for the button without actually looking at it. It's a minor thing but thought I would mention it. I'm sure you will get used to it and it will no longer be an issue. Did not try the blu-ray write function as I am using this primarily for blu-ray playback.I would rate it 3 stars as its just meets my needs and didn't exceed my expectations. I would rate it 5 stars if it did come with software. The purchase price is $59.99. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-25-13 01:53 PM |

Cons: No software as it's OEM. Might be an issue for some people.
Pros: Can't beat the price pointNice brushed matt black finish Comment:
Bought as a surprise perk for a buddies build. An excellent price point on this OEM drive, although some may be put off with the no included software. Nice finish, and worked well with the media he will be using. |

Cons: -Kind of noisy but to be expected
Pros: -Price on sale-Versatility-"Brushed Aluminium" looks for front panel Comment:
I can't ask much more than what this already provides. I like the faux brushed aluminium look of the faceplate. Burns and reads bluray just fine. |

Affordable blu ray writer when it's on sale. Looks good and performs well. No complaints. |
bien_a@NCIX Rating: Review Date: 12/24/12 |
Cons: OEM drive does not come with any software. Not a big issue since there are a lot of options out there (paid and free) for DVD and BD playback
Pros: Has a "high end" look to the faceplate and a slightly different approach to the eject button. This drive looks more at home on some HTPC cases. Recognized by Nero 10 and up. Not included in product description but it says M-Disc on the bezel Comment:
Works as expected. I have not tried burning BD yet but works fine as a DVD burner. When on-sale, this drive is offers great value by providing all-format compatibility. |

Set it up in my Windows 8 computer without a problem. Seems to work fine with DVD's. Have to get a new program to burn Blu-Rays. |
The fastest and the best BD burner for the price!
