Excellent value for Wireless N networking. Works flawlessly when on the web gaming with my xbox, wii and ps3. Shiny black shell looks attractive. No ugly antennas. Installation disk gets confused if you're running vista 64 bit. Referred to as tech support and a seemingly properly educated indian man walked me through the setup. (first time i got an issue resolved with the support of outsourced tech help). If your wii is connected 24ǝ it may well often bogart the connection from your other video game systems.

nice sleek design and style, alot of choices when you log into router. Uncomplicated setup. Wireless N (but it's only more quickly if you have the N adapter and use it for streaming). The value/quality of this router compared to other N routers is a lot superior. This point is superior then my Linksys w54g which was outdated and over rated. The only con is when i'm logged into the router it requires awhile for the modifications made to be saved, but this isn't a challenge. Wireless N is only going to be faster if your utilizing this router to stream movies/mp3's. Comcast customers generally have 6-12 mbps download cap. There for you will under no circumstances get downloads quicker then this even even though all Wireless N routers claim 300 mbps. This will only permit you to communicate with your network at these speed wirelessly. Hope this brings some light on the somewhat advertising/advertisement scam that is going out there.

functions when it does the router is just bad from time to time the signal just drops for no reason, the speed fluctuates its under no circumstances constant, everytime i a new personal computer trys to connect to the router i have to reset it. i tried acquiring assist from the netgear forums and they told me that it does this due to the fact i am to far from the router but i am only 10-15 feet from it. i thought the difficulty was from my network card but i tried three distinct cards and nevertheless the same problem. this isnt the frist time i had troubles with netgear wireless routers and i deffinetly wont be getting netgear in the future.

Very good router! I personal a evaluation web-site and I have reviewed this router. Just Google "Hardware Insights Netgear WNR2000" if you want to read it.This router received an eight.five out of ten on my assessment. -Front Status LEDs don't blink.-Power Adapter not warranted?-Only supports WEP when set to 54Mbps speed. Excellent router, lots of features, effortless to use, an additional wonderful Netgear solution!!!

I purchased this router to replace a Linksys router that got bricked by a firmware update. Following Linksys tech assistance tried to convince me to purchase one more of their routers as a replacement, I went to Netgear on the reccomendation of a friend in the IT small business. So far, this router has performed nicely. I get robust signals all through a 3 level townhouse recognized for poor reception, along with speeds that are moderatley superior to my old Linksys. Also the router configuration page is intuitive and the firmware seems reliable, as opposed to "those other guys". I have skilled a few dropped connections when streaming video through a really hard-wired Xbox 360. I'm not confident if there is an concern with some ethernet ports on this model or if its the firmware. I named Netgear tech assistance and they offered a solution that I have but to fully test out. Netgear tech assistance is not stellar, but they get the job completed. Also, even though several internet sites and even Newegg mention a 1 year warranty, apparently Netgear not too long ago switched to a lifetime warranty on hardware than involves support. When I talked to the tech person, she talked about my warranty being good for the next year and I told her the packaging states lifetime coverage. She checked on it and verifed a lifetime warranty. So it could not be a negative concept to contact Netgear client service to make sure the lifetime warranty is active. Trust me, it may well seriously truly come in handy someday with the nature of networking hardware.

solid as a pass thru AP out of the box, plugged in a switch port to my cisco switch and it did the rest on its own. streams 1080p to my bd390 without having the regular glitches, and you can even ff and rw with no HD freeze up, granted that's only been tested in the next room. it has push-button WPS so i guess if you're into that it's a pro only 10럼, and no external antenna -- would not have bought it for a lot more than the black friday price if you use it only as an AP (as in not as a DHCP server) you get no ip, which is normal, just bear in mind to connect it straight to a machine if you want to adjust settings before you plug it into your network and it becomes invisible.

amazing range, I reside at a college and I reside on the top rated floor, this router reaches the basement three floors down with ease, it also has the networking functions that I like such as mac filtering, and port controls. Really few, it has internal antenna which limits its capabilities for long range directional antenna that is a bonus of quite a few N routers, but it meets my wants very easily and has made me much more cash than I paid for it over the last 6 months If your seeking for an low-cost router that has the basic networking capabilities and will span your property or living area, this is 1 of the greatest you will uncover. Content buying and thank you Newegg!

Required a router to install DD-WRT on to generate a wireless bridge and this router was easy to flash and has worked perfectly, speed has been impressive as a wireless bridge, didn't test it with it's default software program or as an AP but if you require a strong router with DD-WRT support this 1's fantastic! None so far!

Setup was easy. I just used the CD and followed the guidelines. A wired connection is needed for set up. I have 3 laptops, a Roku box and a printer connected wirelessly at 270 Mpbs, using D-Link's DWA-130 and DWA-160 Wireless N USB Adapters on my Acer and Dell laptops. It's quite dependable 98% of the time. I do get occasional drop outs exactly where the router randomly reboots itself. I have no thought why this happens, but when it does take place, it comes back in significantly less than a half minute. I've owned this router for 10 months now. I believe the wireless signal is losing a bit of its strength since I now want to reconnect my Roku wirelessly anytime I turn it on and use it to watch Netflix or MLBTV Premium. Possibly this router just functions far better with wireless N devices. I don't know. My nokia smartphones, which are wireless G, often drop their net radio connection when I'm downstairs. I'd rank this router eight.5 out of 10. Variety could be greater and compatibility to some wireless G devices could be enhanced. Obtaining a Router is like rolling the dice in a sense.

size is little and stackable. no weird shapes or antennaes as with other routers. rapid speed, simple to use. appears very good on the desk. Vista 64 challenge prevents working with the easysetup wizard. I programmed mine manually and it was fine, but Netgear doesn't offer you a lot of enable on their web page.

Simple setup for novices, has a robust signal that reaches all places in my house ƒ floors), strong reputable wireless router (doesn't crash), automatically checks for firmware upgrades, exceptional features at a low price (แ.99), guest network isolates wireless clientele from your LAN. I had no problems reaching wireless N speeds close to 270MB. At this price tag, I don't actually have any big complaints. My only minor criticism is that I would like to be in a position to Block Services by both IP Address and MAC address. For quite a few years, I only bought Linksys routers for their overall performance and reliablity. I come across this generation of Linksys N routers to be disappointing in signal strength and reliabilty. I find Netgear wireless N routers to be function rich, straightforward to use, and trusted. Netgear releases additional firmware updates for it's routers than Linksys. They don't abandon fixing buggy wireless routers like Linksys. I now only acquire Netgear wireless routers.

Functions flawlessly. In no way drops connection. My laptop with wireless G surfs more quickly than it did with a G router. and the other laptop that has wireless N is crazy rapidly now. The signal strength is greater than my G router. Looks excellent. None I only buy Netgear wireless goods and I'm often pleased. This unit replaced a five year old Netgear wireless G router that stills operates fine.

Operates fantastic on XP and Win7 - problematic on Vista. I've been working with mine for about six mos., and it's constantly worked nicely with the four computer systems in my household network (once I got rid of Vista!) When I initially attempted to use this router, it merely would not function with the two computers (one desktop, one laptop) that I had utilizing Vista. Try as I may, Vista simply wouldn't "see" the wifi connection. It worked fine on an older XP laptop and on a Win7 desktop. When I upgraded to Win7 on all units (except the XP laptop), all the difficulties went away. I don't know what the dilemma was with Vista, and I don't care. I didn't like it from the beginning. If you're nevertheless working with Vista, don't get this router unless you're arranging on upgrading to Win7. Otherwise, it's a fine unit.
