Purchased this, for a fundraising initiative as one of the prizes for a raffle, based on recommendations of friends.Audio quality is incredible and the codec support is extremely varied. The included earbuds probably don't do the unit justice. We tested with a similar set of earbuds and the sound was still incredible.The screen is large and the videos we used to test it with looked very good.The USB cable is problematic and the unit will disconnect unless the cable is actually held onto the unit. This is easily fixed with a set of needle nose pliers and lightly squeezing the end that connects to the unit so the contact is tighter.The earbuds are labelled on the actual speaker portion so identifying left from right can be problematic when covered by the foam pads. The unit would shine with a good quality set of replacement headphones.Overall I would recommend this unit. |

Cons: The Cowon software is buggy, and I've had problems, but it just might be my bad computer luck.
Pros: User interface is incredibly easy, finding your music and files is easy, sound quality is superior, touch screen is really responsive, customization is like no other. Comment:
Insanely easy to use/user friendly, this is this mp3 player for audiophiles who just want to listen to their collection without unnecessary bells and whistles, while the extras on it are nice, they don't interfere with your navigating. As a person who used "i" products this is an incredible step up, easy to use drag and drop system, one of the best gadgets I've had the pleasure of using. |

The Cowon X7 is by far one of the best portable music players I've used. With it's amazing capacity (160GB) it is one the few hard drive based players out there. I haven't managed to get the 100+hrs of playback on mine but I am still amazed at its battery life considering the screen size and the fact that it has a hard drive. You can realistically expect a good 50+hrs with no problem, I usually do two weeks before I need to charge it.I purchased this with audio in mind and I was not disappointed. The Cowon X7 supports practically every audio format you can throw at it. It has a ridiculous amount of EQs and audio adjustments that will satisfy any audiophile.The only disappointment with this product is the screen and video format support. With a 4.3" screen the 480x272 resolution doesn't quite cut it when watching the few videos that will actually play without having to be converted. As this is not the primary function of the player I did not deem this important enough to remove a star.This player's is definitely intended for people with a large collection of music and audiophiles. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good quality music player. |
It is good for sound, especially for large volume of lossless files.
