Inexpensive, does the job it says it will do. I didn't recognize I would have to go back to my days of playing with erector sets to get the #!@^ing point installed. Tiny, TINY bolts and nuts... I miss the straightforward set that came with three spring-boards and some clips. I don't have an accurate base-line because I changed chassis at the identical time, but right now my A7N8X is under higher load and the nForce2 northbridge is sitting at 87'f. Not negative, all items regarded as. I nonetheless can't think how stupid the mounting technique was even though... it would have been enjoyable if I wasn't trying to finish this project up in a respectable amount of time.

Paired this up with some Artic Silver thermal compound to permanently replace a dead northbridge fan and it works fantastic. Just barely short adequate to fit inside my 1U case. Height is actually close to becoming also tall, might not match in some 1U enclosures. Outstanding thermal cooling, heatsink is cool to the touch and heavy I/O no longer crashes the computer!

Well packaged, seems to be copper coated for high heat dissipation capabilities Requires it be mounted with 4 corner screws/risers to the motherboard, which may well need board removal from the case! The northbridge fan/sink I was attempting to replace was metal spring held from two outer corners which had a unique size template. I wound up just taking the old dc sleeve fan out and leaving its heatsink in hopes the case fans would adequately cool it (Abit IC7-MAX3 Socket 478 with P4 two.4B).

Excellent design, effortless set up My northbridge still runs as hot as the stock heatsink. I got this one particular due to the fact my stock heatsink bolt broke, pondering about receiving a fan. Acquiring about 45C idle.

works as designed - not as well tall - can accomodate a 40mm fan. none i replaced the northbridge and processor heatsink on the intel tiny falls two dual core atom itx board with these. no difficulties fitting it in for either. used this in conjunction with scythe 40mm fans - really quiet. dropped temps nicely. A excellent replacement for the stock coolers on the board.

- - As you could know the Intel Atom is currently cooled by a NB Heatsink. Nonetheless I wanted to over-clock mine a bit for a e-mail server so I went ahead and got this and a scythe 40mm fan. Works quite nice, always cool to the touch. Intel Atom @ 2GHz. 2GB DDR2 667. 500GB Seagate 32MB HDD, Ubuntu Linux 8.04LTS Server.

It is silent as advertised. The set up was incredibly straight forward, and I like that the grease was integrated. Just don\'t forget to use acetone to remove any old grease if this is a NB cooling replacement project like it was for me. If, rather of old grease, there is thermal tape, be positive to not pull straight up. Wiggle it side to side like a knob soon after disengaging the spring-loaded barbs from the back. I've read that a blow dryer (heat) or canned coolant (cold) will support release the thermal adhesive devoid of harm. I was shocked how difficult it was to take away the old noisy NB fan plus it's heatsink. The fan was 4 screws, not too bad. But the old tiny heat sink had the same spring connectors that this Zalman sink has. The only way to get rid of barbs as soon as they are in is to take away your motherboard, flip it more than, and use pliars to pinch collectively the plastic barb and push it through the attachment hole. You can try breaking off the old barbs, but that dangers harm to the motherboard.

Fits in my original Xbox to replace the motherboard V1. GPU fan. Doesn't come with thermal adhesive like the model prior to did. (NB32J) Now you have to obtain this separately. Yes, I want permanent attachment! :) Following a couple hours of playing videos the GPU temperature is right at 129F. This I know can and will be lowered to prolong the life of my great media player.

effortless to install, commence the screw and nut very first prior to adding to the heat sink. This replaced a fried fan on a video card. Make certain you have clearance 1st. You can constantly add a Northbridge fan to it if you demand further cooling. Fat fingers and modest nuts don't mix.

Comes with 3 mounting bits (an extra). Robust springs. Ultimate adjustability. And comes with a mini tube of thermal compound. Very best paired with socket 478, 479, or any southbridge. Too tall for cards. Too small for a northbridge with a dual core, unless with a fan on top. It was a bit time consuming to get the mounts positioned correct. I purchased 5 to mount on 5 graphics cards; on sale. Due to the fact it is size-adjustable, it was a steal.

Fits just about something. No need to eliminate the motherboard from the case.Modest tube of thermal grease is included. Requires time to align items up with the screws. But for a 1 size fits all device that's a smaller cost to pay. This is a good heatsink. You can't go wrong for the cost.

Does what it is supposed to do. Performs much far better than an old style heatsink. Tiny install screws are really hard to handle. Brought down my N. bridge temp from 60 to 33 C. Fairly easy to install.

- low cost- adjustable mounting - requirements a fan for much better cooling I combined this heatsink with the led fan from a COOLER MASTER SLC-S41-U1 and ended up with a decent remedy for thirteen bucks. It looks very good and operates nicely, so I'm doing the very same thing once more on a unique computer system. I wish the motherboard makers would quit skimping on HSFs.

Smaller sized version of the Zalman ZM-64K. It's aluminum, not copper in spite of the yellow color. Works wonderful. Can mount on an Asus A8N-SLI and still match the largest video cards.

It's a heatsink.Functions well on the ICH7.Dead silent (you know why). Doesn't fit a fan devoid of tinkering? (See other evaluations.) It had to be installed diagonally and with only two pins, due to the way the Acer EG31M motherboard was designed, but it functions fine. Pulls a lot of heat, the chip was quite hot to the touch after usage. Now the heatsink is hot instead.Perhaps you'd require to put a modest fan on it for the hotter chipsets but I didn't assume I'd want a single, and what do you know I didn't.

Great valueOperates effectivelyComes with thermal pasteSpare do-dads included in case you loose some parts Not the easiest to assemble Other people have mentioned that this is a northbridge / graphics chip cooler and that it's not usefull for CPUs. It _IS_ nonetheless, usefull for at least some CPUs: those on a Mini-ITX motherboard. I replaced the faulty HSF of my EPIA 800-M with this heatsink, and it runs cool to the touch. Great acquire.

outstanding item, and for compatibility, jus use thermal epoxy a tiny ingenuity goes along way. There is more than one particular way to cook a goose. none - does what it is intended to do and much better than stock oem parts for positive. for people today who have difficulty feel outdoors the box, just since it has universal brackets doesn't imply it will function with every board on the industry so if it doesn't you can make it perform for you. recommend thermal epoxy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100013 for the boards this isn't compatible with.

General, it's a useful replacement on older boards when the northbridge fan goes out. The install was sheer frustration. If you have substantial hands, or poor eyesight.. Have a shop, or an individual with smaller hands install this. In order to get the assembly together I cut my hands a half dozen times. It looked basic enough, but there is a fine line amongst slight tension, and as well a lot tension to allow the fittings to rotate. I discovered that I couldn't retain the "arms" in location at all as I kept fiddling to fit my board. A single arm would fall off at all instances whilst flipping it More than to tighten the screws on the BOTTOM of the heatsink. (bad style...) Soon after an hour of fiddling, finally mounted it. In no way again... I'll replace my stupid motherboard with one thing else ahead of I do this once more.

This item is 15mm reduce than the Zalman ZM-NB47J if you require a decrease profile northbridge heatsink. This unique item is created of "aluminum", though the description says "copper" as of this posting date. newegg.com can erase this post when you properly transform "copper" to "aluminum".BTW, it is clear that this item cannot be placed on any CPU -- it truly says that it can in the description as of this posting date.

It was a superior notion. It just wasteful junk that was a lot more difficulty than it is worth. The fan went. I am disabled, and the installation was a near heart atack. You just have to finish creating the heatsink very first. Pass! Everything. There was no Pro's. Whoever installed the Norbridge initially was a slob and than some.
