Was strongly eying this unit, along with the Enermax Revolution 85+ and the Corsair 1,200 Gold. Ended up going with this 1 in the end only due to the fact of it getting all the integrated cables to connect to the SR-two board without having worrying about an all-modular style. I would think about nonetheless, that had I picked either the Enermax or Corsair that I'd be treated as effectively. Hitting about 1KW from the wall with an SR-2 board, two EVGA SC GTX 580s 齹 Cores), two Xeon E5620s at ӯ.7Ghz, 12 GB of RAM, two HDDs / a single SSD, and ten case fans. So far as I can inform, it powers every thing just fine and is strong as a rock. Runs really cool and is quiet until you push previous 1,000 watts. Had my CPU power cables reversed for awhile till I noticed I had to also power up the PCIe lanes, whoops! Compared to other PSUs, I am preferring the reality this isn't a modular only style - significantly less stuff to be concerned about coming loose, IMO. Oh. Heavy. Cables reach just fine even in a tall Lian-Li Pc-P80. Once again I'd say value but if you're seeking to power a high-end machine, I wouldn't be skimping on a PSU either. The fan does rev up a bit after you're applying a excellent deal of load. Not a deal-breaker by any means but it's not specifically whisper-quiet. Fan control manually set to twoǙrds of the max speed by means of back knob - a nice touch! It's absolutely a big unit. Seven or so pounds and feels like it will final a really lengthy time. I can't inform what temperatures are like inside or from exhaust (my guess is on hot days beneath load that they are in the 60s-70s. C), but it's running like a champ. I could almost certainly nevertheless throw two hex-cores in this machine and it'd be fine. While I don't have a will need for Tri-SLI, possibly only then would I wonder about longevity. For *most* users though, I nevertheless consider it'd be plenty of energy. Once more like the SR-two board, if you're already searching at this, you in all probability aren't worrying about the price tag as much - just that it operates. At least for me, it functions wonderful. Sheathed cables are good (and boy are there a lot of them). Partial modular cables are excellent for additional things if important, although I'm only using 1 of them to power some front fans).

There are no Pros when it doesn't work I got two of this unit each brand new sealed, and both had been DOA. I hooked it up and anytime i went to do any significant Gaming I got a BSOD. EVGA you dropped the ball on this 1. I also was finding a high Pitched soud coming from this unit, it wasnt as noticeable to me, but anytime my dog was in the property he was going nuts.

Yeah it can energy quad sli, but thats about it, cuz the stock wattage on a 580 is i beleive 247 watts,, giving you about 200 additional wats to function with, tahts 1 xeon, nothing at all else. So if you want to run dual processors, quad sli, plus your mobo and all your drives and pumps and fans, get the silverstone 1500w, you can exciting a 6 and 8 pin off a single eight pin connector, has a cord that takes an eight pin, and converts to and 8 and 6 pin which is fantastic, operates cuz silvrstone strider has eight 12v rails get it

You can run four-way SLI with added power to boot. I have four-580GTX's and they run with no any concerns. Thank you again EVGA. Excellent item. I have utilised ANTEC and CORSAIR for years and this hold it's own amoung the Ideal!! Not a con but there is quite a few wires. Not for an average guy. This a power supply for extreme setups.

Can assistance 4+ video cards. Wire is poor excellent. CPU2? power lead interferes with cooler install. Not modular. Variable fan = hi/lo. No pwr switch. ATX24 won't snap-lock even when tried on bench. Unattractive. I was running the Rosewill 1000w, but I was having concerns with the ATX24 snap/lock. Other than that, it ran great with 2x X5650 at 3.96ghz rock-solid. Swapping to the SR-two unit, it won't even launch Windows at those settings. Haven't found the trigger for that yet, it's possibly some thing minor. The Rosewill is a superior unit to this. Quieter, Pwr sw, appealing, more modular, less power loss (efficiency).

If you're also getting the SR-2 motherboard, this is the way to go. It's not modular, but it connects up with its sister mobo nicely. None, so far.
