I regret buying it. Barely any channels. Set up was not easy. Doesn't work like they said it would. Lost my money because they won't let it be returned! DON'T BUY IT.

Win XP SP2, Beyond TV, 5 year old Dell XPS. It was plug and play. 10 minutes install, 45 min scanning QAM channels, now have HDTV for cost of basic cable on our VIZIO FP TV. Will buy a second one.

Very nice and easy to set up. I didn't use Win TV software but only media center on windows7 premium 32 bit with the drivers ir32 on the CD for the remote. It's a 5 to 10 minutes set up. I find it a bit expensive but windows 7 compatible for sure.

This HVR950Q installed easly and performed better then advertised. The picture is better then any HDTV screen and the audio is perfect. I bought it for the QAM TV signals and it works perfectly! The image on my laptop is incredible!

Installed easily with no problems. Available signals in area come in OK. Need to locate antenna so nothing blocks signals. Have to learn all functions yet.

This has performed very well for me, with no problems so far. As other reviews have stated, it does seem to work better on a fast updated computer. It is installed on a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium desktop, with a 3.21 GHz processor and 8 Gb of Ram. I use Windows Media Center rather than the WinTV software that was included.

This may not be a travel toy because of the power consumed and heat generated by the unit. Also, forget the whip antenna, a string works as well. Now, put it on cable, Rogers only has analogue available without a cable card,Better to use a good outdoor antenna and OTA ATSC for HD TV. I have 21 available in north Toronto. Mostly Buffallo and all Toronto stations except CBC (not a loss). Works well on my desktop W7 64bit and on my Netbook with W7 Home Premium. The Netbook is pushed to the limit decoding the HD signal but it does work even with the CPU pegged to 100% most of the time.

Set up was quick and easy. I am able to see a lot of digital channels. The only down side in my case was the remote control, it does not have a good range, rather than that everything works fine.

There's a lot of tuner out there consider other products before that one. Encore products a great, and way much expansive.

I'm impressed with the product and glad I purchased it. It seems to work well but I haven't used a lot of its functions yet. However you need a fast, updated computer to connect it to and a strong antenna system to pull in the digital stations especially those over 10 miles distant.

Using this with MythTV and Linux 2.6.30 kernel (http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-950Q). I've only tried ATSC (over-the-air digital) features. My only complaint is it seems to not pick up marginal-strength stations as well as my regular RCA digital TV. Best advice is get a good amplified antenna, and put it outside.

I installed this product on a Vista 64 OS and connected it to my analog cable. Installed without a problem, and it worked the first time I set it up. Make sure to connect it to a USB port that is directly connected to a header (and not a PCI card USB port). I experienced a flicker in the picture when I had it connected to the PCI USB, but it worked flawlessly connected to header USB.

Great product have been using for about a month and have not found any problems. For the money I paid, it has been worth every penny. Only drawback I have found is that I had to replace my router to get the max out of this unit, not the units fault.

I purchased this for use with a new Toshiba dual core laptop using Vista 32 bit Home Premium and the unit never worked properly. I called the Hauppage support and they were useless in their support. They couldn't even tell me what laptops the unit had been tested on to see if I had a compatible one.

This is the third USB TV Tuner that I've purchased and all I have to say is... Finally!!! Unlike the two cheaper tuners I had previously used, this one was recognized by Vista Media Center immediately. Additionally, with the help of a roof-top antenna, I get all of the DTV channels available to my area with crystal clear quality. I love this tuner, and I will be purchasing another shortly so I can make my system into a dual-tuner system.

Comment:
For the tuner itself, used with a third-party dvr software, it has a lot of potential. Hooked up to my rabbit ears, it gets 27 digital channels, about the same as my hdtv. I have it hooked up to my 1080p hdtv and the picture looks great (even a little better than normal because my video card smooths the picture out a bit and probably up-converts to 1080p, at the expense of a few seconds delay). Problem is the WinTV software included is JUNK. My computer crashes after a minute of attempting to watch a 1080i broadcast, the remote doesn't work, the picture and sound is choppy, the recordings leave out sound altogether and are choppy, and the scheduler (for recording) is useless because critical buttons are missing from the screen (such as ''save'')!! You absolutely have to buy different software, because none of the free ones supports this model tuner. So you're looking at about $175 instead of just $75, assuming your video card and sound card are already up to snuff.

Works pretty good for me. The analog stations are not good but the digital stations come in good. All the local stations in my area are already digital over the airways, and the analog signals will be turned off next month anyway. It uses a lot of CPU, between 60 and 80 % of my core 2 duo 2.0 Ghrtz and about half my 4 GB memory. The stick gets hot, but overall I'm pleased with it. I've been waiting for years for a small device that'll put TV on my laptop without some buggy software that streams video wirelessly from a server PC so I can watch the football game in a separate window while surfing the net sitting outdoors on the front porch or back deck. It's not as good as your big screen, but it's good for a laptop. HD stations work best but the standard digital stations work well too.
