Cons: - Not so confortable headband. It starts to hurt my head even though I have a ton of hairs, if I keep them non-stop for a few houres straight while it wouldn't do it with my previous (AKG K702) and it's rather surprising as the AKG were just a thin guenine leather band that was pretty soft over time, with no extra padding and it felt better.- Undetachable cable. It is unacceptable for a recent high-end model to still not offer removeable cable as it's always the first and often only thing that break on an headphone and it's a pain to replace. At least the stock cable feels sturdy enough... however it leads me to the fact that the stock cable is wayyy too long and I'd rather have a short 4ft cable and use an extension if required as now I just have like 2 meter of wire in my pockets and if I want to sit on the couch, the cable isn't long enough anyway.- Sound stage is much more narrow than my (AKG K702) but it was to be expected since it's a semi-open design rather than fully open and the AKG I had were notorious for that though they lacked bass.

Pros: - Made in Germany- The most solid construction I've seen on an headphone. Not only the brushed aluminium looks gorgeous but it feels rock solid!- Most confortable ear cushion ever doneYou won't believe it until you touch it!- 250 Ohm is the perfect middle imo so it can be driven perfectly with an amplified soundcard on the computer and still reach it's full potential on a portable mp3 player when used with a portable amp such as my (Fiio E12) as no such portable solution can support above 300 Ohm which means the 600 Ohm would be stuck for PC only usage.- Very good sound and surround for gaming. I can easily locate where the sound comes from in BF4.- Among the best headphone in the (Neutral) category such as the (AKG K702/Q701, Sennheiser HD600/650). Beware and look for reviews first, the open DT990 sounds very different and isn't neutral! I can hear music the way it was meant to be heard, I don't even need an EQ on my computer since it sounds so good already.- Very cheap for the quality you get at 240$ + 5% Taxes & Free Shipping. I sold my previous (AKG K702) which I've used daily for 4 years, at 200$ and could sell these current headphone anyday even in several years for the same price so it's a worthwhile investment as you will lose almost nothing.- Oh yea and it's the PREMIUM version on NCIX by the way, not the inferior PRO version :)
Comment:
A more appropriated note would had been 4/5 but given the options I'd give 5/5 at 240$ + 5% Taxes & Free Express Shipping. I pretty much said everything above already. All I could add is that someday I will prolly try the (Beyerdynamic T1) between 1000-1200$ but since they're 600 Ohm it means I'll only be able to use them on my computer and since I do most of my usage on my mp3 player through my portable amp (Fiio E12) which is only up to 300 Ohm, it wouldn't be possible and I wonder yet if it would be worth it. If I'd be rich I would have kept both the K702 I had and bought the DT880 as they are both truly amazing, just in a different way.
