Cons: Bit expensive for a mouse

Mouse is all about how it feel in your hand. The human body cannot tell a mouse past about 3000dpi... could have been a bit bigger and I only have medium sized hands. Just my personal preference |

Cons: Horrid buttons and firmware

I bought this mouse mostly because of the fact that it was ambidextrous (I'm left-handed and my boyfriend is right-handed, so it would be convenient for both of us). However, this mouse did not live up to my expectations in the least. The buttons on the sides were very easy to hit by accident, as it only took a feather touch to press them. This led to a lot of misclicks in games. Any custom buttons I set in the software wouldn't save properly, and the firmware was constantly resetting itself, seemingly for no reason. After installing the firmware three or four times (and having it fail twice and force me to reboot my computer), I finally gave up and returned the mouse. Hopefully this was a defective item, as the Steelseries brand is a good one, however I chose not to take my chances again and instead bought a Razer DeathAdder. |

I bought this mouse in anticipation for Diablo III, and it was also in a bundle deal if I pre-ordered diablo III, this mouse, and the accompanying steelseries mousepad at the same time. The mousepad and the mouse both look sweet. However, the mouse seems to 'catch' on the screen after about a month or so of useing it on the mousepad. Eventually it got ubearably so.HOWEVER, it works absolutely perfectly fine on the desk or any other smooth surface. I've read elsewhere that cleaning the mousepad thoroughly helps keep the traction. Not very satisfactory to have to keep doing this. So I'm going mousepad-less, which is sad becasue the mousepad looks awesome.Like other reviewers have pointed out, there is a problem with the sidebuttons being too sensitive and this can greatly impede gaming if you accidentally hit the wrong buttons. If you're looking for a gaming mouse, I suggest looking elsewhere. But for now I'll keep using this one.
