Cons: a bit small for somenot rigid enough to work without a flat surface underneaththe rough texture is prone to smoothing out with wear and dirt

Pros: very smooth glide for both hand and mousetracking that feels markedly more preciseexcellent grip across a variety of surfacesseems to deliver the claimed benefit for steelseries miceefficient use of space (i.e. no thick borders, usable right to the edge)good price point
Comment:
First off note that this pad is NOT 15.4 inches wide - it's 11.4, as correctly specified on Steelseries' own site. Before this I had a rocketfish, which seemed to track as well as any other for Logitech mice, and offered both smooth and rough glide surfaces, which was good for experimenting. Which surface works better comes down to personal preference, but I found the smooth surface resulted in movement that was anything but smooth - friction that low traded away control supposedly for speed, but movement wasn't really any faster, just more jittery and prone to overshooting. When I switched to a Steelseries Sensei MLG, the tracking was still smooth, but always felt not quite right in a way that's hard to qualify. After a few months the mouse started having brief bouts with no tracking at all, resulting in a momentarily dead mouse at completely random intervals. I was inclined to blame the mouse naturally, but tried switching to this 4HD mouse pad first. The outright tracking failures immediately disappeared, but additionally the tracking now feels amazingly precise and smooth like never before. The rough glide texture feels just slightly grainier than the control surface of the rocketfish, and gives the hand a smoother controlled glide as well. This is most noticeable when operating with wrists anchored to the pad but nearing limit of reach and needing to just turn the wrist without sliding it around, but sliding without lifting is also a little easier, still without causing accidental movements.Trying other laser and optical mice (a few Logitechs and the GIGABYTE Krypton) on both pads doesn't duplicate such profound improvement. The glide of the hand is still nicer on the 4HD, but both glide and tracking are not substantially any better on one vs the other. The 4HD might still do a little better, but it's also much newer. If you have a Steelseries mouse I highly recommend one of the HD pads, as their marketing claims regarding the use of them together appear to bear out quite substantially. Otherwise, it's still probably one of the best at this price point, but not necessarily your only good choice.

Cons: Surface is kinda rough compared to cloth pads, so it might rub/hurt your wrist. However, that's how plastic pads are anyway, so I'm good.

Pros: Great tracking. Smooth movement. Clean surface. Rigid.
Comment:
Best mousepad I've ever used. Perfect combo with my Logitech G9x. It is so smooth that it feels like my mouse is floating. Also I play Osu! and this helped a lot because it takes much less force to move mouse comparing to playing on cloth pads.

Pros: Excellent mouse pad
Comment:
On first look the SteelSeries 4HD mouse pad is fairly representative of a mouse pad, But when talking performance the 4HD resulting surface has numerous micro-lumps that act as tracking points allowing sensors to accurately map location and movement and in theoretically this mouse pad should enhance tracking ability for all mice especially the steelseries "Sensei"

Pros: - extremely low price- rubber "buds" at the bottom of mousepad is very effective and very slip resistant- overall great quality and durable so far- looks great with the steelseries logo all over the mousepad- great size for a casual gamer (like me)
Comment:
This is probably the best mousepad you can buy at this price. I am currently running my mionix naos 3200 gaming mouse on it and it has been working perfectly. The overall build quality is great and I think it is going to last a long time. Simply an amazing mousepad at a great value. Recommend this to anyone wanting a cheap gaming mousepad. Gamers, don't miss out on this great product!!!

Pros: Good Qualitystays in place (mouse pad does not move)Mouse glides wellmouse tracks well (no weird colours/reflections to screw up tracking)PriceScratch resistant

This is a great mouse pad.Its cheap ($20), which is a plus.I have a R.A.T. 7 mouse, in combination with this mouse pad, its amazing, the tracking just works as it should, such an upgrade from my last freebie mouse pad that screwed every laser mouse that's I've tried it with. Conclusion: Buy it.

Cons: Slightly noisy with my mouse's feet/skates (I have a Sidewinder X8)

Pros: Smooth, smooth, smooth. My mouse glides on this mouse pad
Comment:
I wanted to call B.S. on a mouse pad that cost $20. I can routinely get a free mouse pad from any biotech supplier/distributor I purchase from. To my surprise this mouse pad is different. The same mouse feels, subjectively, more precise.Who new?If you get one you won't regret the purchase

Pros: good sizelooks cleansticks to desk
Comment:
I've never used a mouse pad and when I bought a new mouse I figured what the heck. Wow quite a difference from the desk. The mouse slides nicely and it's a good size. I probably only use half of it as my dpi is set to about 2400. Great pad for 20 bucks or under. I would defiantly recommend.

This mouse pad is the best mouse pad i have ever had. It is plastic so it wont tear or stain, your mouse glides on it like skates on ice and you cant beat the price. Brilliant

Pros: -very nice surface, textured-holds on desk with soft rubber underside-great tracking with logitech G400 optic mouse-fair price
Comment:
I've really come to enjoy the hard surface mouse pads over cloth. I used cloth for years but recently swtiched over to hard surface, they seem to track better and last longer. I have both the Razer Destructor and the Steelseries 4HD. I would say that for a smaller desk the SS 4HD is ideal, but if you use a low sensitivity for FPS games and need lots of space the Destructor is perfect. You can go wrong with this pad, plus it looks good with the Steelseries logo pattern.

I wanted to switch from a cloth mouse pad to something easier to clean but still provide the same performance. The 4HD was just what I was looking for. Well priced and well built.

Cons: wish they had more colours/designs available

Pros: nice hard surface, just enough friction
Comment:
Using with logitech g700 wireless, works perfectly.Bottom is nice and secure, sticks like glue! Couldn't push it across if i tried.Surface is nice, couldn't wonder if it could be better.Having not tested any other of the "gaming" mousepads before, I can say that this is a HUGE improvement over any regular surface/cloth mousepad.MUST buy.

Awesome mousepad. I previously owned a razer hard mouse pad, this one is by far better than the razer one and much cheaper too! I used different mice on it, from logitech, razer and mionix. All work very well to my likings.

Pros: Rubber back provides no slip.Texture provides very smooth glide with your mouse.
Comment:
I previously owned just a normal everyday cloth mouse pad. As soon as I used it I fell in love.Great texture on the pad.Nice and firm with a great rubber grip on the back.I would recommend this if you are looking for a fairly large mouse pad that will increase the responsiveness of your mouse.

I bought this to replace a freebie stock Dell brand flexible plastic/rubber mouse pad on my gaming rig.The price is a bit higher than I would have liked, $15 is more in the range that I think it should be, but then all gaming pads are IMHO a bit pricey for a piece of plastic and rubber. :-)The construction is top-quality, with a rigid plastic top over a thin rubber non-slip bottom layer. The top has a special rough feel that really works well with mice. It's almost twice the size of the pad it is replacing, which really helps in gaming. An excellent buy.

I have always used cloth mice pad found at local PC place. Always used to think those surface dedicated gaming. Bough this for the price not expecting that much improvement with a freshly purchased Logitech G500! Wow, was I wrong! I am just amazed that the precision this pad offer and the rigidity of it. Without spending over 50$ this might not be for the best pro gamer out there, but for someone like me that likes gaming, great pad and precision it's an awesome product for the price!

I never thought I would be praising a mouse pad so much, ive had this thing for about 9 months and i just had to come back and review it because it is so good. Extremely smooth tracking, great surface, and unlike all other pads ive had, this thing has not shown signs of wear in the slightest, and has not gotten any dirt or grim on it thus far to the point where i am thinking "man i gotta clean this". I can only hope more people realize what a difference a great pad can do for them. Bang for the buck this thing is great, if you are a gamer or even if not you need one of these.

Cons: - Not really a weakness but it didn't come with a "cleaning clothe" like the 9HD version.- Could hurt a little ur wrist since it's not soft cloth.

Pros: - Doesn't slip on the desk.- Large enough even if it's the smaller version.- Cheap- Won't wear off like cloth pad such as the great Goliathus I had.- Very precise tracking.- Very thin
Comment:
I don't know if it will end up wearing the tefflon from the mouse feets with time but so far it's the best pad I've had. I'll make a list below of those I had. The pad is hard but it's somewhat flexible. I tryed the Ikari Laser, Habu and Xai on it and it's tracking perfectly. Much more worth it than the fugly white overpriced Razer Megasoma.- Razer eXactMat- Razer Mantis "Speed"- Razer Goliathus "Speed"- Steelseries 9HD/4HD
