Great construct quality, very good heat spreader, operates properly Not genuinely a con but it is purple-ish in color and not blue as it appears on the Newegg web site. Added this to my Gigabyte X-38 DS4 board. Already had 2 x 2 GB sticks of A-Information Vitesse SDRAM. Knowing that the Vitesse can run at four-four-4-12, I reduced the timing settings to the 5-5-5-18 that these SDRAMs need. Had trouble with my ATI video card driver crashing. It would recover on its personal most of the time but only soon after a 15-20 second pause to sort points out. Tried adding .05v, .10v, and .15v to the ram. The .05v seemed to help some. The other people did not. Searched the internet and found that some mobo ram controllers do not truly perform nicely with 4 sticks of ram. The remedy is to drop the ram frequency to the next lower step. Instead of running at 800 MHz, I decreased the speed to 667 MHz and all is now operating fine. Other than in a benchmark, I can't tell that my Computer is running any slower than before and some programs are obviously quicker with eight GB or ram than they were with 4 GB. It appears to be a worthwhile trade-off. Shrug.
