AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:"faildozer"

Pros:Price and performance
Comment:
Although this isn't that great for heavy CPU tasks or intense gaming, which I would rather go for an Intel i5-2500k, this CPU is great for it's price. Loads of overclocking potential and a quad core at $117, it's a steal.

Cons:None

Pros:Great price for a quad core processor
Comment:
I upgraded from an Intel Quad Core 2 running at 2.3Ghz and FX4100 is an amazing upgrade and such a great price being a quad core processor.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:OEM cooler uses small fan and heatsink

Pros:Cool running. Overclocks relatively easy
Comment:
I purchased this for a "budget" desktop build that's going to be used primarily as a non-gaming rig. Out of the box the OEM cooler was surprisingly smaller than the previous generation (phenom chips). The cooler was basically a normal aluminum heatsink with a central copper slug plus an 80mm fan. This was promptly replaced with an OEM X6 phenom heatpipe based cooler with a slightly bigger fan. Understandably, neither cooler could be considered as great but at stock voltages, and utilizing only a multiplier increase, the FX4100 overclocked easily to 4.6GHz (that's a 1000MHz increase using air!). The setup ran cool and stable (prime95 + seti running together at 100% for 24 hours). With better cooling and more fiddling, it could have gone higher. I just wanted to see the potential of the chip and brought it back to stock settings. Overall I'm impressed with the OC headroom.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:Runs hot during heavy load like gaming. 60+ with stock cooling.

Pros:Rn good and fast
Comment:
Most games run fine on maxed settings paired with a GTX 560. multitasking doesn't seem to slow it down.

Cons:Fan is noticeably louder.

Pros:Cheap, fast, large heatsink, stays cool, large caches
Comment:
Great bang for buck. Upgraded from intel e5200, miles faster in games, noteably excellent in BF3. Cost me only $90 via bundle deal. Honestly could not have asked for more given what I paid for it.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:Not it's fault.

Pros:Just awesome
Comment:
The chip is great. The major problem is that windows itself is not yet capable to use Bulldozer chips to their potential.I've been putting through it's paces for this two days and I am happy. I was able to play BF3 and BF:BC2 with no lag at all. Did some video conversions of full length movies in under 20 minutes. HD videos. Ran a lot of apps at the same time and it was awesome. The problem I have is that there aren't many CPU monitoring apps yet that are compatible with this chips. They report wrong temperature or just don't work. I haven't tried to OC yet, but I'll give it a go soon. I hear that it can be done on air cooling to 4.6Ghz.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:People all over the internet (specially Intel owners) whine about this CPU

Pros:Runs VERY cool even overclockedOverclocks awesomeVery cheapFast out of the box - 3.6ghzGreat gaming CPUVery low price
Comment:
I upgraded my MOBO to support AM3+ before the Bulldozers released. When they did there was a big uproar on the internet about the Bulldozer being a flop. But I bought it anyways on faith. And boy was I impressed!! At stock speeds I can play current games on Ultra. Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Assassins Creed Revelations... I heard this CPU overclocks nicely, and man is that true. With a moderate voltage bump I have it running stable at 4.78GHZ, at a temperature of 40C with a corsair air cooler! That's a 1,180mhz overclock boys and girls and I'm sure it will go further, but was to lazy to try lol.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:None

Pros:New CPU instructions over the Phenom II X4 955 for about the same price
Comment:
I think it has a bit better performance value than the older Phenoms of the same price range. It also has good overclocking and will be ready for any new software that can make use of the encryption and multimedia instructions.

AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.6GHZ Socket AM3+ 95W Retail Box
Cons:-Bulldozer is not an i5 or i7 crusher as we would hope it to be in order to make things more competitive.

Pros:-It works great... but then again, everything since core2duos still work great.
Comment:
It works great. This processor is perfectly fine. How fast does Microsoft Word, or your web broswer need to run? Can you even tell? Don't fall for the hype, buy what you need... every new mainstream CPU is "fast".Not for the person looking for the fastest thing for a gaming rig or bragging rights... but then again why would they be considering a $100 processor?Greatest strength is value for price. The person who turned off power management to try to stop it from clocking down is doing it wrong. They also might as well eat dog feces since they even consider Windows Performance Index as a form of legit benchmark. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-28-11 12:17 AM

Cons:No Certificate of Authenticity in box.

Pros:Inexpensive, 32nm process, runs cool.
Comment:
I bought this processor and replaced an Athlon II X4 640 with it (The Athlon II will go in one of the kids machines). The Windows Experience Index actually went down from 7.3 to 7.2. I ran it again with Windows power management turned off, and got the same thing. Running CPU-Z during the test showed that the processor still slowed down, even with power management turned off. Hmmm. This is just a quickie review, I'll play with that later. One thing that does impress me is how cool it runs. Running FoldingcHome SMP at 100% on all cores, the max temp has gotten up to 39 degrees C. I'll let it run for a bit to decide what kind of performance it is giving. The instruction sheet says there is a Certificate of Authenticity, and even has a picture showing what it looks like, but there was none in the box. I always save these, and get worried when it is missing. I would like to know if anybody else has had this issue.I'll update  this review in a few days, but thought somebody might be interested in my first impression.Would I run out and buy an AM3+ board for the sole purpose of getting this CPU? No. I was going to purchase a 955 Black Edition but decided on this for around the same price. I'm still up in the air on whether it was the right decision.
