Cons: none

Pros: Worked out of the box, overclocked easily
Comment:
My FX 4100 overclocked out of the box to 4.2 Ghz with the stock cooler. Temp overclocked is 20C to 56.6C using Seti as a stress test for 80 minutes. At 3.6 Ghz normal speed the temps stay around 20-25C under normal load. The CPU throttles back to 1.4 Ghz most of the time. Gygabyte GA-971A-D3, Coolermaster Silent Pro j 700w, 16 gb of Kingston Value ram running at 1333 mhz, 3 x 1000gb seagate HD'sNormal case cooling, 3 fans, so nothing really exceptional. I'm not a gamer.

Pros: Quad core, low power
Comment:
I put this processor in a ASRock N68C-GS FX as a quick and low cost upgrade to my home linux server, went from a single core Athlon 3200+ (2.2 Ghz) to this quad running at 3.6Ghz.It has been up and running since I received it without any issues.

This processor is awesome. Out of the box you get wicked performance, and it only gets better. However the heatsink and fan included are poorly made, so I would highly recommend getting a better heatsink if you are going to overclock this.

Bought this for a general purpose system, with light to moderate gaming. Has performed above my expectations so far, and handled everything that I could throw at it. Processor runs cool, doesn't use much power and will overclock very nicely. Very pleased with this purchase. Great bang for the buck!

Cons: - Might require better heat sink for overclocking.

Pros: - Good value for low budget gaming PC.- Stock heat sink from Cooler Master with heat pipe. Better than usual stock heat sink.
Comment:
Got this to build a low budget gaming PC. Will have to see if the stock heat sink is good enough for minor overclocking.

Cons: - A little low end on the CPU performance list- Stock fan makes the most noise in my system

Pros: - Great price/performance ratio- ideal for budget pc builds- Runs surprisingly cool with the stock cooling- Great overclocking potential
Comment:
This is the best CPU for the money. I use this for a budget gaming build and get great 50-60 fps on high 1080p in BF3 using my FX-4100 and msi HD 6850 cyclone. I have not taken a stab at overclocking but it will sure boost the price/performance ratio. This CPU is sure to last years before needing to upgrade.

The CPU is a big gain over my old 2.6 Ghz quad, noticed the difference in some games right away. The extra processing power is nice, and given the price, I think this was the best choice.

Pros: Works well, good sized cache, high overclock potential
Comment:
Speeds as advertised, decent processor, I see many years of gaming coming from this processor. For the price it is as good as it gets. Only issue I have is it runs about 45 degrees Celsius, where as my old CPU would run 35 to 40 degrees with the same cooling system.

Pros: InexpensiveFastOverclockableStableNot Intel
Comment:
Antidote to the "Core ..." knee-jerk. Unless you process data heavily (you will know immediately if you are or not), you don't need a $300 processor.Paired with a Noctua NH-D14, overclocks to 4.6GHz were easy at under 45 degrees, and 4.73 was possible under 55.Lots of decently-fast memory (12800 or 14900) will benefit this chip. In Unigine with a GTX 680 and 16GB of ram, my test system equaled an i7-2500 in a standard benchmark! (57.9 vs 58.1)Smoothly plays any AAA title. Graphics-heavy games are rarely bottlenecked by the CPU, but games like flight simulators would benefit from a faster platform.

Cons: Stock fan emits a very annoying high pitched whine at speeds under ~85%. However, at that speed, the air thrust becomes quite noisy. You should either replace the fan or the heatsink altogether.

Pros: Overclocking beast. Great for a budget gaming PC.
Comment:
Although the performances are somewhat underwhelming for the price, the overclocking potential of this chip will give a run for your money. Don't rely on the stock cooler, though (see cons). That's not enough to remove a star, considering that the true potential of this chip lies in overclocking it.

Great budget CPU. Bought it with the ASUS M5A97 AMD970/SB950 ATX AM3+ board. Runs great and stable. I'm having this board running with 16 GB (Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 XMP Dual Channel Memory Kit) and a Mushkin Chronos 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 Sandforce SF-2281 SSD Solid State Disk Flash Drive. This combined with a 700 Watt PSU and Radeon 5870 makes an excellent budget gaming pc!!

Cons: Stock speeds on this processor do not match the performance of a Phenom 955 quad core.

Pros: Great bang for your buck.Easily overclock with unlocked Multiplier.
Comment:
At a price of $110-130 +tax you really can't argue about the slightly disappointing performance. It still runs very well especially overclocked and will play most high end games with a good GPU. You really get the best out of this product by overclocking unless you're just using it for non-gaming purposes.

Pros: -Fast at 3.6GHZ (3.8GHz turbo)-4 Cores
Comment:
Great budget processor and mainly the only one you'll need of the FX series, there just isn't a need for more then 4 cores, it is possible to over-clock and unlock cores however the cons outweigh the pros.I was shocked to notice there were no bonus software much like that came with the Athlon series, and Phenom zeries.

Pros: Powerfull Quadcore for the price

This CPU is great for any workload. yes there are faster processors but you have to draw the line somewhere. I can render a video in 23min with this CPU, my friend with a faster Intel i7 Quad can render a video in 20min, 3 min difference, Ill take the 3 min slower CPU any day and save hundreds of dollars.

Pros: Apparently overclocks wellDecent price/performanceRuns fairly cool
Comment:
I pricematched this considerably cheaper than an i3 2120, which is a pretty comparable CPU despite being a dual core. The i3 is a little better in current games, but this overclocks pretty good from what I hear and it's a little cheaper. For the person I built this computer for, it should be more than enough. If you can find an i3 for about the same price, that will probably be a better path. Or better yet, spend the extra on an i5. But this offers decent price/performance.
