Nice Power Output for the income. This UPS is not wall mountable by way of the normal "keyholes" on the back/bottom. I ordered this unit to power a phone program and like most installations, the UPS will be mounted to a backboard (plywood mounted to studs). Zip ties w/ screw holes will have to do for this one particular. APC should of produced this 1 wall mountable.

You just install this and forget it, then one particular day when your power flickers you become real glad you bought it. I have multiple of these units all the about the property. If you drain the battery too quite a few instances it will need to have replacing sooner.

Master outlet that controls three other outlets so that almost everything turns off when you shut down your laptop or computer. It was a wonderful thought, BUT......(see Cons) There is a real difficulty somewhere in the electronics that created me add this to my junk box collection of parts, and from some other critiques I see I am not alone. It would randomly cut off power to my computer system just long adequate to make it restart, which, as you can picture is very poor for your laptop or computer, defeating the very purpose of utilizing a UPS. I ought to add that this would occur without having any sign that power to my home was flickering; no lights dimmed, no alarm from my other UPS units.APC tech support blamed it on the battery needing replacement, but the unit's personal diagnostics said almost everything was fine and that the battery was fully charged, which I confirmed with a voltmeter. I put that battery in a different UPS and it worked fine.I replaced it with an ES-750 (same name but a different design, no Master plug) that works just fine. So shame on APC for not admitting this one is flawed and not recalling them or offering some sort of compensation.

This has coax and phone line surge protection, a great plus for a home UPS. Excellent quantity of outlets. Not all are battery backup, but that is going to be the exact same with any "home" UPS you buy in this value range. I didn't get this on newegg, but i wish I did now. I got it for practically ย much more at a neighborhood computer center after tax was added. This is a excellent value if it does have free of charge shipping like yet another evaluation mentioned it does. It's the least expensive 750 VA out there I think, at least in the APC brand, which is the only brand I'd suggest.

Can manage many devices; easy install / set-up; good interface; already saved me in a brown-out Would like the energy-down selections readily available of the battery backed-up outlets (maybe I'm just missing some thing). Had a energy flicker the initial week I had this with no disruption to the system. I'm operating a CPU, 22" monitor and two WD external drives and only working with about half of the accessible wattage. The software indicates I could run all of the above for 11 minutes on battery power if required.

APC and Newegg remain at the "top-of-the-pile", when it comes to Top quality and responsiveness. The addition of peripheral shutdown to this unit was a fantastic notion, on the portion of APC! None!

Does what I will need it to do. Better battery life than specifications. Consistently beeps when on battery power. I use this exclusively to power my DSL modem and Linksys router so in the event of an outage, I can use my Netbook. The power specifications for these two devices is around 45 watts which the APC web page specs state I would have about 100 minutes of power. I have already had an outage of more than two 1ǘ hours and the battery nevertheless provided the required power. This UPS offers power in the form of a stepped approximation or a sine wave. A lot of have expressed concern about this kind of sine wave rather of outputting a pure sine wave but for these aformentioned devices, the stepped approximation wave functions extremely well. and I am confident this wave will function as nicely with a Pc power provide(possible concerns with some active PFC power supplies). Just don't try to use a stepped wave on induction motors. They would most most likely overheat and operating long sufficient, suffer harm.

Uncomplicated install. Great feedback and reports from the software (connected by way of USB). 16-18 minutes of backup power for my Dell Vostro 410, Samsung 22" lcd, Comcast cable box, Belkin N+ Wireless Router, and Lacie 500 gb external hard drive. Each and every APC unit is naturally tested before it is sent out. It takes 16 hours to charge before 1st use (no big deal). The power button is situated on top of the unit. If you have animals, they can accidentally step on it and take ALL power away (turning off the battery as nicely). I've built a protective box around my APC unit now with a plastic storage crate. Right after 6 months of use, I accidentally turned the unit off whilst every little thing was on (APC power button). It fried something in the unit and kept giving a continuous loud tone (indicating overload) even when absolutely nothing was plugged in. I contacted APC through e-mail (built into the software program). This is somewhat typical if there is a big power surge. The unit has a three year warranty ƒ years on the battery). They shipped me a new replacement unit and paid for shipping of the defective 1. I had the new unit inside a week. Very best client service setup I've ever observed from a company like this.

Fantastic item for a great price, APC is Top Top qualityI mainly purchased this more than a normal surge strip simply because I have a rear projection HDTV (Sony SXRD) and when the power goes out, even for a couple of minutes it's prematurely wearing out my bulb so this thing did the trick. None come to thoughts... green energy light is a bit vibrant, but very easily covered up if it bothered you. Running 60" Sony SXRD, Sony five.1 HTIB, XBOX 360 and this factor works perfectly whenever the energy goes out.In addition I plugged my subwoofer into the "smart" outlet so that whenever I turn on/off my receiver it powers on/off the subwoofer automatically... I love it.

Compact size. Price and green energy capabilities with master shutdown control No Windows 2008 R2 support This is a a very great selection for Computer energy backup. Good spacing on the outlets to allow room for transformers and the master switch is a good function for controlling peripherals attached to the Pc. But be aware this UPS does not have support for Windows 2008 R2. Granted this UPS isn't targeted for server use but it would be good to have an cost-effective APC remedy for modest, residence-based servers.

Name brand, a lot of outlets, extended run time. I purchased this for my parents to shield their Television and the rest of the entertainment system. Working with a Kill-A-Watt I determined they were working with about 175 watts of power with anything on, so for good measure I got one this massive for future addition and extended run time. Not all ten outlets are battery backup. If it didn't have cost-free shipping I would not have gotten it from Newegg since the least expensive shipping was about ฤ, be less costly to go to my local Workplace Depot.

Works as advertised Only two surge protected outlets outside the master controlled ones Adequate to power a Core i5 750 with Radeon HD 5870 and a 25" LCD for ӱ minutes. Saved my computer from multiple power flickers and gave me a lot of time to shut down immediately after power went out.

Nicely, it's a UPS. It appears to do what it's supposed to do. No wall mount. Way to go, APC. Was it *that* high-priced to consist of four screws and some molded mounting holes in the unit? For years I've bought APC units to safeguard telecom equipment (routers, etc). Looks like I'll be shopping for a diverse brand -- if I can't mount the unit on the wall (with the gear), it's useless.

Properly UPS's either function or they don't. This 1 works. Windows-only software program which works half decent. This is protecting a PfSense firewall, D-Link DIR-615 Router and Motorola SurfBoard SB6120 cable modem. Our energy here is genuinely poor, occasionally it goes out on sunny days. Worst encounter yesterday - For about an hour throughout wind/rain, the power kept going off and on several times each few minutes, from time to time it would barely come on (brownout). Regardless, this unit kicked on/off just as the energy came on. During a brownout I'd hear it click on and beep as nicely even if I didn't notice the lights go out in the house. Keeping my firewall uptime at 41 days =D ࿉ days ago the power went out for four hours).Fantastic item for what it does; I'm confident it's saved me from multiple surges as well.

I have employed APC UPS's for many years without having any complications and expect that will be the case with this unit also. I purchased this mainly because I necessary a unit that lays flat for clearance on my stand. The Master Manage function is quite helpful and works without having problem so far.All my other APC UPS's lasted 6-9 years just before the battery failed, but there are many variables that can effect overall efficiency. I have two units coming up on 10 years that are still rock solid. Older models have slightly better spacing for plugs, but the existing layout is functional. The battery cable was not considerably of an issue - see other thoughts. If you are employing a "block" rather than a straightforward plug, you will not have enough space due to layout. A short flex extender can remove that issue. As for folks getting issues with the "short" battery cord, here is what I didɅ) I took needle nose pliers from my tool box2) I slid the back cover off to expose the battery2) I removed the plastic guard from the metal flangethree) I pushed the plastic guard more than the battery wirefour) I grabbed battery wire behind the metal get in touch with and gently pushed it over the flange with the pliers.5) I pushed the plastic guard along the wire and back up and over the metal flange. This took much less than two minutes of actual effort. I did not get rid of the battery - I only manipulated the wire. Just make confident you have very good lighting.

Excellent, hefty UPS for the bucks--750W. Sensing software program's very superior. It even tells you how a lot wattage is obtainable for added equipment, & gives an (optimistic) estimate of battery run time in case of an outage. Surge protection for internet cable is also a plus. Green ON light is larger & much easier to see than on older models. Five surge-protection-only and five battery + surge outlets quickly meet our needs. It can cut power to 3 slave peripherals when the laptop or computer, in a master outlet, is turned off (this is standard operation--not an emergency). Cut off the computer system, and the monitor, external drive, and printer follow suit. APC had the insight to make this function switchable--on or off. Battery life on an earlier model really did reach a little far more than the advertised three years. We haven't tested it, but there's possibly no way the battery will support a reasonable equipment load for the advertised 70 minutes. The computer software estimate of 30 to 40 minutes is a lot more most likely with about half the maximum wattage load. Still, that's a lot more than sufficient for wrapping up your function and saving it to a difficult drive. There's nonetheless time to e-mail a complaint to the energy corporation if you like. Taped to the unit was a list of APC's top quality manage tests which it had to pass before shipping. There should have been about thirty items. We're not too concerned about this unit getting any defect that causes a time-consuming, frustrating return.

10-pin Ethernet to USB jack included. Battery backup and surge protection. Nice warranty. APC Powerchute software. It's APC. Also protects cable (cable modem) and telephone lines (for fax on printer or pc). Master plug and 3 master controlled jacks. Power surge protection AND battery backup. A lot more ports than my older APC unit. Doesn't have a gazillion power jacks? *shrugs* Master plug and master surge plugs basically are a fantastic new design APC added. Plug your PC power cord into Master, and three other components and when your PC sleeps or shuts down, the other 3 jacks also quit pulling juice. Don't use these ports for your monitor. You'll need battery backup for monitor (may reduce battery time).APC Powerchute software program truly manages PC when battery reaches important level. Never ever be concerned about losing data due to energy outages again! :-D Now you can leave your PC workstation and never have to manage plugs and jacks.Just get 1 already. Worth the ๠.oo! I promise. ;-)

Works nicely - has 10 outlets in total. I like that only five are battery backup - that way I can just put the vital issues (computer, modem, router) on the battery backup side and use the other outlets as a standard surge protector. Each time I come back from standby, the software program temporarily indicates that it lost communication with the battery backup. It's a minor annoyance, but doesn't hurt the functionality.

* UPS works fantastic!* The Master outlet feature is cool for amplifiers and other factors that only make sense when a particular master is on (in my case the PC).* The capability to silence the beeps during night time is amazing!* The software program is very good too. Download the latest from APC web site, don't use the CD. * Outlets are spaced too closely.* Cost-free mouse came with out a dongle so it's pretty a great deal useless.

Delivers protection against brownouts, Software is uncomplicated to use. Software does not supply the capacity to shut down more than 1 system (or execute a script / batch file as component of the shutdown method).Don't expect to have any much more time than to save files just before shutting down in a full power outage. Have 2 PC's on the battery backup with no accessories / monitors / etc., and software shows around 8-9 minutes when PC's are idle, but drops to 5 minutes when gaming on 1 PC (other idle).
