Nicely produced. Unlocked each cores on a phenom II x55. Has been stable ever due to the fact I bought it and have had no compatibility problems. Onboard sound is excellent. Bios has loads of choices and characteristics for those of us who like to fiddle. The case>mobo connectors for items like the reset, energy and audio/USB were a bit funky and I had to do a bit of fiddling to get them all working. My case had two connectors for some of them though the mobo had 1, or vice versa. no 6gb/s sata, usb 3. and full x16/x16 support for crossfire, but you get what you pay for and these are all characteristics I won't be utilizing considerably or at all so I completely avoided them. Excellent mobo! Will most likely be buying ASRock once more =)

-Effortlessly able to unlock 4th core with AMD athlon II X3 455 (just set advanced clock manage to auto-- just be ready for a considerable heat boost.)-Lots of bells and whistles to play with. -I did have a tiny difficulty employing ripjaw series 1600 ram. I can't get the board to recognize it as 1600, it only sees it as 1333. There may be some setting I could play with to get the ram recognized as 1600, but I haven't messed with it too a lot yet. Board still runs like a champ.

Great layout.Tons of BIOs features.Great cost. What the hell kind of CPU fan speed monitoring is this? The Minimal heat you can watch is 45 degrees. You can't adjust it based on RPMs so you're left guessing at the speed based on their Level method. If you don't allow CPU quiet fan, it BLASTS it at full RPMs. I don't freakin' understand this software program design. Why can't they have it set to Automobile so when it's at a particular temp it has a slower fan speed, and so on.?! That appears like a freakin' easy function to have! I mean honestly, I don't recognize the design of this motherboard's capabilities. It makes me regret getting it. It's wonderful for the price and if you don't mind a terrible Very important feature IMO. Oh.. Also, it's very good if you don't thoughts your fan getting on the LOUDEST, FASTEST speed at all occasions either.

Me and my roommate each use this motherboard for our mid-level gaming rigs (Radeon 5750 and 6850). Coupled with the Phenom II 555, performance is superb. No cause to pay for characteristics and onboard video you wont use. Only 1 16x PCIe slot. Supposedly mid-range cards don't suffer too much on the 4x bus, but the slots are incredibly close together. Fantastic mobo if you're on a spending budget.

Packaged nice, came with everything necessary, incredibly detailed manual. Board arrived DOA installed every thing from a working Computer and it wouldn't post, board would power up but the LED light kept flashing, tryed with 1 Dimm, differrent PSU, Unique Graphics card, Reset CMOS, absolutely nothing worked. So i installed my old MoBo and working with that til my new one arrives. Presently Issued a RMA # to ship it back for a Refund, Bought a Gigabyte motherboard yesterday for 89.99.

Low price tag for a AM3 DDR3 ATX motherboard. Great BIOS clocking alternatives. Very good onboard audio. Doesn't auto detect memory or CPU default settings properly, have to manually set memory speed/voltage and CPU voltage. Cool & Quiet does not work, if it boots at all it crashes when enabled. BIOS doesn't give very good CPU fan control. Only has two onboard fan connections. Only has four SATA ports. Doesn't overclock incredibly well, has the selections that are very easily accessible but is not stable even when temperatures are typical. Antec 300 Ɠ intake, two output fans)AsRock AM3 DDR3 A770DEPhenom II x4 955BEPatriot Sector five DDR3 1600 2GB x2Radeon 4890 1GB650w PSU I was running an AsRock AM2+ DDR2 AMD 780 board with 4GB memory and was finding way greater stable clock speeds with my Phenom II 955. Employing BIOS selections and K10STAT I had 3.8GHz CPU and 2.6GHz NB. "Upgraded" to this DDR3 board and can\'t get my CPU over 3.4GHz or my NB more than 2.2GHz. Most programs still run significantly far better now due to the fact of the memory upgrades and AM3 setup but get way worse scores in AMD OverDrive and other testing programs. It was cheap although so can't anticipate the finest. Get one thing with superior NB and SB if you're gaming or doing a lot overclocking.

I have excellent expertise with Client Support at ASRock. Immediately after my warranty ran out with Newegg, they were excellent about taking the board back and sending me one thing that works. Cannot however comment on good quality, but for getting pais a few bucks, it has life as opposed to me junking it. Two DOA's in a a row must not be tolerated in this marketplace. I upped the number of eggs for their service; I review this earlier 3Ǚ񳏋.

DDR3. Less costly than most with these specs. Nice BIOS program settings. Shorter width than other ATX boards I've had, challenging to get case wiring to reach. 4 SATA slots, though clearly stated in description. Clear CMOS pins hidden behind graphics card, which they know you're gonna have given that there isn't onboard. Doesn't run DDR3 1600 automatically even though it's listed as a 1600 board. Why is it listed as a DDR3 1600 motherboard if we have to use manual or "overclock" settings to get it there? Begins as 533 and has to be bumped up to 800. Memory is 1600 memory. Is this the memory sticks or the board?

price. none. in latest bios i could not choose to unlock other cores individually on Phenom x2 555 black. downgraded to v.1.50 and got that alternative, but still unsuccessfully possibly due to faulty cores on CPU. not a board problem, nor processor, given that i paid for 2 cores.

The BIOS is excellent in this board - You can change each and every timing, voltage, setting you ever dreamed of as soon as inside! I overclocked my Athlon II x3 Rana B35 ƒ.9 GHz) to three.5 GHz stable! The unlock solution on this board operates really nicely, I was able to unlock my processor but the fourth core ran HOT so I just went back to the x3 and overclocked it easily with this board. BIOS is quite nicely organized, it's by far the very best I've ever employed. Some men and women stated the RAID on this board was junk. I have mine operating a RAID with two 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3's in Windows 7 x64 and have had NO problems with the RAID therefore far Ƒ week in with HEAVY use) I will say the RAID setup menu could be a small better / much more robust but it's Wonderful it even has it for the price. My RAID Read speed was 272 MB/s so I don't see what anybody could complain about - My board is rock solid stable. Board layout is fairly great but I don't like the placement of the pcie x1 slot, you can't fit something I can think of in this slot with the SB heat sync placed Correct up behind it!BIOS reset jumper is Right below the PCIe x16 slot which is NO enjoyable when overclocking if you have to reset the BIOS a few occasions in a row. I ended up soldering a switch with two brief leads to the jumper location so I didn't have to take away my video card more than and over even though attempting new OC settings. I would knock of 1 egg for the board layout troubles, but I paid ึ for mine so for the price ratio I'm going to leave it alone. Good to obtain SATA cables and mounting hardware with the board. The support for these boards will respond to you, but in really broken English. Make confident you know what you're carrying out or have some patience if you need tech assistance.

Very affordable.Very good overclocking tools.Unlocked the 4th core in my AMD x3 no complications. I bought ASRock approved memory, still had to set the timings manually (easy to do). Can't find how to turn off the system speaker beep at startup..Second PCI-e is 4x, so not sure this will do a crossfire setup well. We shall see.Documentation with the MB is below par, but on the web manual is excellent. I was nervous about this make as I've in no way employed them ahead of, but looking at the DOA critiques versus other manufacturers, ASRock seems no worse, and from time to time superior. This worked appropriate out the box, and no concerns so far. On-line (pdf) manual was great.

BIOS alternatives makes overlocking trivial. Dual PCIe Dual Channel memory ASRock utilities suck. The 'instant boot' function is garbage. Incredibly superior motherboard for the price. I would highly advise for any person constructing a gaming PC on a spending budget

InexpensiveNumerous PCIe x16 slotsAM3 socketDDR3 compatible None This board has no onboard video (hopefully, that's portion of WHY you're seeking at it) so if you're getting this and a new graphics card (or two) make certain you have a trustworthy card on hand in case you have concerns and need to have to figure out no matter whether it's the card or the board. This board has worked good with my 200 series geforce card, and is comfortably and cool-ly operating a 95W phenom & four DIMMs. As somebody who does a lot of work on their machine and just wants it run a couple monitors with a number of apps open at when, I would certainly get this board once again.

Simply unlocked 4th core on an Athlon II CPU. Didn't recognize my memory at the appropriate speed. Manually setting the memory clock speed fixed the concern. Installation was one of the easiest that I've ever accomplished (no driver or software program issues, just the memory clock problem).

The motherboard is inexpensive when comparing features. I built a technique with this motherboard in December, 2010. The board burned out inside two weeks. My second board has worked fine. I built yet another technique in March, 2011 so I decided to go with the very same motherboard, assuming the initial failure was a fluke. This 2nd 1, too, died inside 2 weeks.two out of 3 boards failing within 2 weeks is unacceptable.

This is a superior mobo at the cost point. Runs cool, two PCIe, adequate USB ports, and a nice bios. Has PSǘ mouse and keyboard. It has a couple of odd habits that are a bit annoying. When I connect my iPod to charge, it drops the PSǘ mouse, retaining the keyboard. Second, it does not like PSǘ input throughout sleep mode, it just ignores it. Both of these combined = -1 star. none

Super straightforward to use - PC was running and actually booting up withing minutes right after installing all hardware - USB and LAN working proper away with generic drivers created it very effortless to get windows XP up and running. Loading its particular drivers from the supplied DVD was a breeze following that. NONE Utilized this to replace an older 939 method. I kept the exact same program drive and was up and running within minutes. Had to re--validate Windows although. Method has been running 24ǝ without problems. Used with Athlon II X2 3.2 Regor and it's working Wonderful.

Runs stably and cool, unlocks 4th core very easily. Fantastic value obtain! For the price, none actually! Never thought ASRock was such a very good brand, but soon after trying an MSI mobo and having it die on me, and already over spending budget, I took a risk, got 1 of these, and have by no means gone back. This is truly my second!
