Used this board to replace a cheap dead HP motherboard, swaped everything over to the new board. The HP is back from the dead.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Only 4 phase power design. Cheap heatsinks for NB and SB. No heatsink for mosfets. Only has 4-pin power.

Pros: Hex-core support with DDR2. Has 710SB for unlocking extra cores.
Comment:
Great motherboard for the price. Was able to upgrade to a X2 550 BE and still use my 8 gig's of DDR2-1000. If you want to buy a X6 and o/c the crap out of it, then this board is not for you. It will handle an X6 at stock speeds no problem.

Pros: - Great for HTPC
Comment:
I've always had good luck with ASUS and this is no exception. This makes a great HTPC case. It's mATX with enough bells and whistles to please most and at a reasonable price.

Pros: - Price- Features

I got this board for a friend that wanted a media PC. This does the job relatively well; it has HDMI and Optical sound output, so that makes it great for an entertainment build. Can't ask for much more. Could have used some more features, but w/e

Cons: None.

Pros: Effective for the price.
Comment:
Was looking for a fairly cheap motherboard for my budget gaming computer and this did the trick. Haven't had any problems with it since purchase and it was very easy to install. It's small so it'll most likely fit inside any case.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: limited expansionmay be slightly outdated to some people

Pros: good budget boardsufficient for most daily and mid-intensive tasksASUS Q-fan helps keep fans running quietly
Comment:
Overall I find this to be a very good motherboard. It does everything that it is asked, and much more. I really appreciate the fact that usb expansion can lead to a total amount of 12 usbs (although I'm not sure I'll ever use them all!) It's integrated video card supports HDMI, DVI and VGA. Also the on-board fan manager helps keep the system cool while keeping the fans from spinning like crazy! My only complaint is about the Express Gate. I couldn't figure out how to boot it and have it run Express Gate and there isn't much details about it in the manual either (not that it really matters).Overall, a very good buy if you don't mind the system being slightly old!

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Price. Hasn't gone down since I got mine 8 months ago. This is about the price I paid for mine ($81.99). Still, it's a good board. Plus with DDR2 memory being rapidly replaced, we can't expect the old boards to go down in price. That's how the market works.

Pros: -785G chipset-Thuban compatibility-works well
Comment:
I got this board 8 months ago (not from NCIX) to replace my M3N78 with a dying 8200 chipset from nvidia (avoid the 6150 and 8xxx series. bad reliability). It's worked well and hasn't failed me ever since. I have my Athlon IIx4 2.6GHz overclocked to 3.2GHz. 4GB of memory in 4 slots and a radeon 4850.Basically, if you want a reliable board with a good chipset and integrated graphics, this is the board I recommend. Nothing "cheap" about this one.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: no Q connectors for easier installation

Pros: Simple installationCheapCore unlocker
Comment:
Got this for a budget gaming rig. It has core unlocker so people can test their luck and hopefully they get an extra core or 2. Its a very budget mobo and have basically everything you need. Though since its mATX, a double slot graphics, one pci card, and one more pcie x1 card and thats all you can put on it.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Comes with more features than I need

Pros: Cheap little board with a decent feature set
Comment:
A decent little matx board. Used to setup a low power consumption Virtual Server using XenServer. Setup with an energy efficient quad core, 4x2gb ram sticks and using onboard video, the machine doesn't use very much power. This budget board would likely fit most tasks except for hardcore gamer builds.I would definitely buy again if I was looking at another AMD budget build for server purposes, but otherwise I might get a different feature set without onboard video.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: only one fan header

Pros: DDR2 supportIdeal placement of SATA portsPhenom II 6-core support
Comment:
Love Asus motherboards - have some extra DDR2 lying around and wanted a cheap 6-core build. This fit the requirements and has been a snap to build. Will probably marry this into a Nzxt Vulcan chassis for a portable powerhouse for LANs. Only one of 2 motherboards that I could find that used the 785G chipset, had 4 DIMM sockets for DDR2 - and this one had the better placement for the SATA sockets; so none would be blocked with a double slot video card.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Can't figure out how to overclock manually, wish instructions are better for newbies for overclocking. it does have a setting to overclock by up to 10%, so that makes it easy. But no option to go higher.

Pros: so far so good. I bought it for the express boot-up into the asus browser. Most days I just browse the web and email, so I only use the asus onboard browser and don't even go into windows. It's great. love the feature. Don't need windows. love it love it love it.
Comment:
It's a good board, wish there was another PCIe, but it does what it's supposed to do and enough ports and function for my current need. Probably would have gotten a higher end board if I finally figure out what the differences are.

Pros: good for overclocking, very nice on-board graphics, very nice to work with.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: No DisplayPort, unlike the M3A78-EM. Still, that's a minor quibble.

Pros: Fantastic board. Even better than the ASUS M3A78-EM that I bought in abundance before. This board officially supports the new 6-core Turbo enabled AMD CPU's, while the M3A78-EM does not.
Comment:
Fantastic micro-ATX (uATX) motherboard, great deal for the money. These new boards from AMD are so much cooler running and more reliable than the older Nforce boards like the M2A-VM series. I've had nothing but good experiences building PC's with this board.

ASUS M4A785-M Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: I have a rear mounted power supply and the ATX12V plug in is at the top of the case so its quite a reach but my cable was just long enough with out any tension.Only one PCI-e slot so people would have to hold off on the crossfire.

Pros: HDMIIntegrated HD 4200 graphics cardCan take the new AM3 chips. Many features from Asus.Price.
Comment:
This is the first motherboard I have purchased for my first ever computer build. The price and the HDMI really pushed to make the purchase as well as the support for the new AM3 socket processors. Everything runs like a charm.

Solid Motherboard
Comment:
I'm very pleased with this board. I would have been even more pleased if it had been able to unlock the other two cores on my X2 555BE processor, but the Gigabyte board I also have couldn't do it either. It has all the features you could want on an economic product. I highly recommend.

No floppy
Comment:
Only been using it for a couple of hours. All is fine. I may have opted for something different, if I realized it didn't have a floppy port. The rest is super. The AMD cool and quiet software is a bit of a pain, I see no way to turn off the system tray icon. Let's face it, it's not that important once you've finished the settings.
