modest form aspect; built-in 802.11n; USB 3; Bluetooth adaptor No dual monitor assistance, contrary to the indication in the manual. ASUS tech assistance lastly, following the 3rd e-mail exchange, realized that it's supposed to support dual monitors, as the manual indicates. ASUS tech support kept passing my messages around, but not to everyone technical savvy, so I stopped wasting my time following the 5th message. My method makes use of an AMD Phenom x4 processor, SSD, and 8GB of 1333 DDR3 RAM. The processor alone produces a lot of heat. I run the HTPC with the cover off, to let the heat out. It's stable. As a suggestion as well enable dual monitor support in future versions, a DVI-I (with integrated analog VGA output) or a D-Sub VGA connector rather of the DVI-D (only digital signals) connector might be employed by the manufacturer.

The x1 slot on a lot of cards suck. - WiFi Rx peaked at 108Mbps- WiFi card requirements an Upgrade to at least 300Mbps, 450Mbps would be great - ASUS: RAID ǗǛቦ capabilities with this card would make it a Wonderful Seller, specially with 5 or additional SATA ports- ASUS: Add a mini PCI-e slot on the back of the board for the people that are willing to pay for a very good WiFi Card.

Feature Packed Like Every single Motherboard Really should Be..Cost Successful ITX board. Though putting in this board i located some basic layout flaws..1) The ATX energy Connetor Is at the back of the board and most ITX circumstances have front mounted PSU's with brief cables for cramped Regions.two) Stock AMD Phenom Cooler sits over the second memory socket.. meaning immediately after seating the cpu cooler i had to get rid of it to put my ram in then place it back on. Its a good board and i'd really like to give it a superior ratting but i can't knowing how it installs. Like ASUS items but this one was below believed

Wonderful motherboard, it is the most comprehensive in the itx level, the abilities of the board are incredible, the top quality of the item is one of the best. none the board manual states that is advised to use a 200w power supply, but I employed an itx case with a 160w power provide and it worked great, it is stable in regular operation and in gaming operation, but if you are planing to get a graphic card you better get a strong power supply. just to inform

I have to say this is the very best Mini-ITX board I've employed to date. And I've built 1 of every single Mini-ITX presently accessible here. It has every single function you could want in a Mini-ITX and more. pcie-x16 is just a bonus! None I believe the only factor you could add to beat this board would be to have a built in ATSC / ClearQAM / NTSC tuner.

Smaller form factor and great unlocking potential. I have a Phenom II X2 555 in it now and was able to unlock all 4 cores regardless of not getting capable to do so in another board. Laptop memory rather of desktop memory. 1 slot is blocked by the AMD stock cooler! Only a single internal usb header? For a device so tiny, your going to rely hevily on usb. That becoming mentioned the only thing you actually will need it for is if you internalize a card reader, and perhaps a usb tv tuner that you also internalize.Motherboard reports 160 TDP when unlocking the 555. The MSI I was making use of was reporting the suitable TDP despite not carrying out a excellent job unlocking the 2 coresGets HOT. As I say beneath, get a Zalman 7000 or some other downward open cooling heatsink. Get 1 of the Zalman 7000 series coolers or anything that will blow air on the board. My version came with a heat sink for most of the voltage regulators, but a couple of did not and they have been finding hot working with the stock amd cooler. It will give you more space for the second memory slot, and only fees ฬ-30 at most areas you can purchase it.

Anything worked out of the box and installed (even w/few missed header pins offset); applied normal 400w psu (not modular); even operates w/so-dimm 800 ram; used a 965 stock cpu cooler (limited heighth subsequent to std psu). It all worked (incl wi-fi); extremely satisfied w/all components. incredibly cramped (re-did wire 3x) and tie-wrapped all wire/connectors; my X2-555BE did not unlock 4-cores (no biggie); Lian-Li case has eight very tiny screws to take away side panel, but so good seeking. Re-read comments of other individuals to see what it requires to do a mini-itx; take your time and even re-do connections 2ndǙrd time (me); Want to add fanless/modular psu and videocard next time about.

OK if you don't program on overclocking, but then it's too costly for what it is. High pricedCPU multiplier drops when overclocked with no way to cease it from happening.Wifi adapter is a ridiculous Board would be great if the cpu multiplier would not keep dropping under load when overclocked. This is a known situation with this board and the consenses is that Asus programmed the bios to do this when the chipset hits a specific temperature, but they make no mention of this anyplace. That's fine but I can't overclock my X4 620 Propus previous 3.0GHz with stock voltage. Why advertise the capability to overclock if it truly can't? This completely ruins this board for me, If I would of known Asus purposely gimped this board I wouldn't of purchased it. Asus makes no mention of this "feature" and their's no way to disable it in the bios. I'm sending it back and getting a matx from Gigabyte because they don't secretly gimp their item in order to fool their costumers. I genuinely expected much more for 贝, Shame on you Asus never ever again will I obtain one of your solutions and I'll go out of my way to steer others in a diverse direction. Quite dissapointing item

All round I'm rather satisfied with the board. I didn't have any issues finding the system installed and running. Almost everything worked out to be plug-in-play. I am incredibly impressed with the efficiency of this low ed create. Program specs. AMD X2 2504gb mushkin 1033gt430 low profile. Installed in an HP s3100 case. The power connector is on the best of the board. I would rather it be on the appropriate side. (Not a manufacturing problem, it's just an annoyance with my HP case.) The wireless's external antennas(yes two of them) are annoying, on the other hand they have outstanding efficiency. The chipset gets very hot. I saw temps more than 70c sitting in the desk no case. If you use the PCI-E slot a 30mm fan is the largest that will fit in the gap. I solved the heat issue by operating an oversized CPU fan. I installed a slim 92mm fan, it is larger than the CPU cooler so some of the air is blowing directly on the chipset cooler. Temps are stable at 45c although watching bluray.

Excellent feature set, and a little package. This machine coupled with a 95 watt TDP 1055T and a decent video card tends to make a fantastic mini-gaming rig/workstation. Every little thing worked out of the box below Debian (Linux). This board runs hot. Don't expect to be capable to throw this in a modest mini-ITX case and have a stable technique. In open air, running prime95 with a Scythe Large Shuriken blowing air from above, the north bridge will get up to 45 degrees C.The placement of the RAM can also be problematic. Considering that it's correct next to the power connector, and below exactly where your CPU heat-sink will likely be, it will get quite hot. Below full load (e.g. prime95 in-spot FFT torture test on 6 cores), I've had my RAM overheat in a situation that otherwise had decent cooling. Ahead of this, I had under no circumstances seen RAM get this hot.I wish that it had a different SATA connector. three is nice, but 4 would be good. Some of these boards have develop-top quality difficulties. I RMAed this board twice: the moment for on-board video that failed immediately after running for two hours, and once more for a USB 3. controller that was complaining of an over-current situation when nothing was plugged in. NewEgg was excellent about the return approach (as usual).

What I actually like about this board is the overclocking capacity. I got a couple of of this boards for my own built miniITX systems and paired it with an Athlon X2 240 two.8GHz. The board recognized the CPU's overclock-capability and they all run at three.36GHz though staying surprisingly cool. Non seriously, but would be nice if it had SATA3 6.0Gb/sec. If you have difficulties with the integrated wireless LAN make sure you installed the newest Ralink RT2870 drivers obtainable from their website and not the sub par ASUS driver and WLAN utility.System Configuration:Case: Athenatech A1089BB.150Power Supply: Athena Power AP-MFATX30P8Motherboard: ASUS M4A88T-I DeluxeCPU: AMD Athlon II X2 240 Mempry: Mushkin 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066DVD: SAMSUNG SH-S223L DVDGraphics Card: XFX HD-567X-ZNF3 Radeon HD 5670 1GBHarddisk: WD Caviar Blue WD10EALX 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s

Compact size, excellent range of ports, nice ATI on-board graphics, built-in wireless connectivity, and decent cost. 95-watt CPU limitation (manufacturer spec), 200-watt minimum power requirement (manufacturer spec), 24-pin EATX power connector plus mandatory 4-pin ATX connector, only 3 SATA connectors, SO-DIMM memory. Out of the 21 Mini-ITX boards Newegg sells, only four use SO-DIMM memory versus standard desktop memory (which I planned to reuse from another project). I believe this required more prominent marketing/warning, but I'll take the blame for not reading the specs a lot more closely. SO-DIMM memory is 20 - 50% a lot more expensive than desktop DIMMs, so that is a pretty large drawback to me. Also of note, this board is created for complete-sized power supplies ྸ-pin EATX plus four-pin ATX power connectors needed). PicoPSUs or equivalent AC-DC power supplies generally come with 20-pin power connectors and a four-pin ATX extension can be added, but that may not be sufficient to power this board. So this board may not function in the smaller/silent/low power project you have in thoughts.

This is a extremely compact and potent motherboard built with high good quality elements. There is a really substantial and solid heatsink for the NB, all the caps are solid state, anything is genuinely top rated notch.Becoming socket AM3 880G board gives you an great mixture of a potent onboard GPU and the selection from effective Athlon II X2s all the way to a Phenom II X6 powerhouse.A ton of functions from built in Wi-Fi (which appears to be fairly robust) to USB three.. A good factor given that there is truly quite tiny expansion room on a iTX board. Honestly there is not substantially to put right here. I guess it would be good to have much more than three SATA ports but for most iTX builds that need to be plenty.

Built six of these thus far, two on bench. They are all the same....making use of an apevia X-fit 100 case. I haven't even advertised this HTPC but, and am still acquiring orders. For its size (case included) this is one particular hell of a machine. Using the embedded vid. and it works flawlessly for blu-ray playback. Don't know if any person is using these for gaming, so no feedback there. Every person is incredibly pleased. For some cause it will NOT run the 560 castillo with out issue, so I have been making use of the 555 in them. Obtaining three.7 dual core. But they are running hot to spite further fans on the NB, and PSU (not a board part, but ambient case temp counts in overall CPU temps). New egg has them in stock, then they don't. Have been acquiring them elsewhere, we'll see how long it's in this time.

Bolted right in my old HP slimline 3100 case. Was able to use the stock amd cpu cooler that came with the AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus. 2 laptop ram slots which I employed 4 gigs of Kingston ram. Kingston ValueRAM 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM. The mobo temps get hot, up to 50C. I put a fan on the mobo heatsink which helped a bit. I have the side of the case off for now, seeking to mod the case to enhance airflow. I utilized the old hardrive. It had 32 bit win-7 but wouldn't recognize the new hardware. I gave up and did a fresh install. I didn't wipe the disk, it place windows 7 in a "old windows file" I didn't have to buy a new license, so it saved me some income also I got to upgrade to win-7 64 bit.

Just want to put heatsinks on em, even thouh Asus shoulda carried out that. SO Dimms are low cost right now so thats not a drawback at all. Just wait till you see it, wont believe how small it is. Incredibly complete featured Motherboard for being ITX. Ease of instalation. Bluetooth seemed to perform superior than numerous other manufacturers onboard BT. BIOS seemed to be incredibly OC'able really should that be you want. Superior delivery from NewEgg as useual. Video out lasted not considerably over a month, possibly 6 weeks. I don't meen just the onboard video, the PCIe slot went south as well. Factors occur as we are all aware. The true troubles that I have began when I attempted to have NewEgg replace the board. I was told that it was beyond the 30 day exchange period. Ok, immediately after swollowing that goose egg, I went on the web and filled out the form to RMA back to ASUS. Now, it has been a week and I haven't even gotten an acknowledgement from ASUS that they are even going to do something about this now incredibly troublesome problem. All issues regarded as, this has been the worst motherboard acquire expertise I have personally seasoned. Most Corporations, especially with the existing economic climate you think would try harder to hold on to the remainder of the dwindling consumer base. As I see it, ASUS has thus far fallen way to brief for this consumer to ever do any further small business with them at this point. THIS Concern Stay UNRESOLVED WITH ASUS. Personally, I think that additional should have been accomplished on NewEgg's portion as well.
