Overclocks seriously great, uncomplicated to use bios, expressgate, and cost. I utilized this board to build a computer for somebody else and only applied it for a couple days myself. Everything worked with out difficulties. three.4ghz overclocked to three.7 with memory at 1600 7-8-7-24 timings. Stock voltage and cooling. Ran prime 95, came back later and was still going and stable. Express gate is a cool notion, but with an SSD in there Win 7 booted in nearly the similar time. All mobos I've observed are this similar way, but I wish all 6 SATA ports could be applied in IDE mode. Since SSD's are out, I don't run raid any longer, and possessing a number of optical drives, it would just make issues less difficult to have much more IDE mode SATA ports. Wouldn't have to be concerned about RAID drivers. But no big deal, four of the 6 run in IDE mode Several ppl complain about pci slot spacing as well tight and memory starting at lower speeds than spec on quite a few mobos. They will need to recognize slot spacing on the slots is typical. If you had far more space amongst slots, they wouldn't line up with slots on the computer case. And memory JEDEC standards only go so high, so several rapid RAM modules are considered overclocked and for that reason the motherboard begins the memory at a speed within JEDEC standards. Just transform the speed in the BIOS if you want to overclock it to it's rated specs.

Appears to operate great; I have no complaints about the layout of the connectors on the board. Installation went smoothly. I had to update the BIOS to make it help the six-core CPU I got for it. Not a massive deal, but it was somewhat unnerving when each the Win7 and Ubuntu installations crashed till I discovered that I needed the BIOS update. I haven't applied it long enough to have a lot of opinions about it, but I wanted to post my encounter with the BIOS update.

has numerous features. From the moment this board was installed there has been concerns with it and the memory. The memory is on the approved vendors list (OCZ OCZ3OB1600LV4GK RT) It refuses to let the memory to run at 1600. Right after attempting many settings it seemed stable for 3 weeks, now it won't even boot devoid of making use of the mem ok button. Even then it locks ups continuously within a handful of minutes. OCZ has tried each setting they can think of. The memory tests fine in other pc's it only leaves this motherboard as the problem. The newest bios 񡹩) only mentions it's superior for updating the cpu's. By no means the much less, I've installed it without having any achievement to remedy the existing issue.

Functions smoothly and has a decent price. Paired it with some Kingston memory (KVR1333D3N9ǚG) and a MSI N460GTX Hawk GeForce GTX 460 from a failed motherboard (MSI NF750-G55) that died lately. Been working with this considering that and never looked back. Quite reliable. N/A

This board is Good! It has a core unlocker, Memory tester, NF750 chipset, tons of sata's makes it possible for lots of ram and is the master of all overclocking! This motherboard makes it so easy to overclock its sickening, it has pre-configured profiles you can opt for from for a stable overclock IF your CPU has a unlocked multiplier. These profiles WILL NOT Operate if you do not have a black edition CPU.For folks who have locked multiplier, just enhance your Frequency a bit, worked for me. Chipset is correct more than the 1st & 2nd expansion slot...A PCI-e x1 is next to the 1st expansion slot...Due to those 2 above i couldnt install both graphic cards and each antec vga coolers. So 1 of my vid cards has a 30-40 F temp distinction...This board is Enormous! Far better have a complete power case for this, i have a NZXT Apollo and this fit by 1cm remaining on the bottom very tight squeeze. I wish this had the BIOS on the ASUS IV Extreme i mean come on a 32 bit mouse controlled GUI bios? i drooled when i saw that! This is a should for any AMD gamer, i have no troubles at all except with the space difficulties.

Good board really stable supported my corsair memory even although it was not on the qualified vendors list. It is correct that this board will only run a single video card at 8x rather of 16x. This is a mistake on Asus they must have never ever labeled the PCI ex x16 slots as operating at 16. If your searching for a AMD board that supports SLI they are really challenging to locate now. I figure that cause you can't come across them is AMD now owns ATI so they wish to lean towards their merchandise.

Fantastic board for the funds, I'm running a Phenom II x4 955 3.2ghz, GTX 285 1gb, 4Gb RAM ƒ x 2gb) G. Skill Rip Jaws.Playing Negative Business two on high settings with 2 x AA and four x AF with an average of 63 fps. Undoubtedly worth the cash for me. Any person seeing that their video card is running at x8 rather of x16, nicely it's meant to be that way, if you look at this product on their web site it clearly says (Single x8/Dual x8).I was going to knock down an egg till I figured out that's just how the board is. I was going to get another motherboard from Asus to get that x16, but for the time becoming, this board is absolutely not disappointing. If your wanting a spending budget gaming laptop or computer, you will have no complaints with this board.

I purchased this mobo to use with a few older components to make a relatively fast backup method. Gutted the old personal computer and added this mobo with new power provide, two older Nvidia cards for sli, and a new BE955. Every little thing worked as expected and technique booted on initially try no troubles. All ports/connectors worked fine.Develop took much less than 40 minutes due to the fact the system booted with an old SCSI LVE that had already XP installed. The old mobo was also Asus, so the SCSI HD booted to Windows screen without any errors (amazing). This was an added bonus because I did not have to reinstall XP. Rather than making use of the enclosed DVD, I went to the Asus site and downloaded the newest drivers offered. The system worked as expected.I have built nearly two dozen systems with Asus mobos and have identified them dependable (only 1 mobo DOA in ten years). This may well be a con for some, but I ordered this board realizing that 1 pci slot would be completely blocked. However there are couple of boards that support AMD procs with sli, and most do not even have 1 pci left soon after instaling two video cards. The one remaining pci slot does not have much space. It is wedeged in between two big NVidia GTX's, leaving small space for my SCSI card. If you have a wide pci card of any sort, and are going the sli route, you will probably come across it difficult to install. The only other note is the direction of the ide header. It hangs off the finish of the board and bumps up against the difficult drive cage on my case. This makes it really challenging to attach the ide cable (rounded or ribbon). It is developed this way to keep from blocking a graphics card in the initially pcie slot, but it is inconvenient. If you have 1 of the Cooler master HAF series or a full tower case, this will not be an problem. I reused an old mid tower to save expense. You can buy a pcie x1 card that will offer an ide and sata resolution from SIG if you have additional legacy HD's you want to utilize. I utilized the one legacy ide for my two optical drives, meaning my two old ide HD's will have to collect dust until the SIG unit arrives. All in all the board performs nicely and as expected. I would advocate this product. I have no need to have for the core unlocker with a BE 955, and have not had time to overclock the system. When attempt the latter I will update this assessment if any difficulties arise.

This board is great! very good quantity of space for all hookups, good upgrade from my Asus M4A785-M (which was an Ati chipset) moved with an Nvidia chipset and running my GeForce 275 GTX OC in hybrid sli for Call of Duty Black ops at 125FPS constant. Paired this board up with an AMD Phenom II x4 965 and G.Skill 2x 2gb ram (F3-10600CL8D-4GBHK) booted up and recognized everything. Didn't need to reformat my Challenging drive windows took care of all my drivers for me. None so far I did make a mistake of hooking my sata into the wrong port for my CD/DVD so make certain you pay attention, i got a small carried away and rushed it. If you have a Mid ATX case this board will fit, but make certain you set your cables up first, then install your graphics - the GTX 275 oc is a monster so its simpler to have your cables setup ahead of time..The board i received had an older bios version 񓓑" The asus web-site does have a new bios readily available for download 񓖛" with use of the Asus update tool, you can flash the new bios even though running windows which makes it excellent for folks who are not comfortable with bios flashing!

Looks fairly. MB isn't operating for me. Tried every little thing ASUS told me to do, and then sent it to them to be tested. I just got it back and they gave me no info on what occurred. They stole the original box and it still doesn't perform. I suppose I'll be buying a various MB now.

This is a solid board with 2600 Hypertransport FSB, SLI and the capability to use 6 core CPUs. I've observed some folks comment on here about the PCI-E slot only operating at x8. Read on None - Read on Do a Google search for Radeon HD 5770 PCI-E x8 - the initially link that comes up is a page on TheTomorrowTimes internet site. I'm using this same card in this board and it's not a issue. The card doesn't use up sufficient bandwidth to take a massive performance hit - it's negligible. If you're not thinking of this board mainly because the PCI-E lanes only run at x8 for a single card, Consider IT Again! A amazing board at a good price.

All kinds of cool stuff like expressgate, core unlocker and nvidia chipset. That is a ought to for me has loots of sats ports and my nvidia gtx470 fits genuinely well, not blocking any ports.ASUS is no my preferred mobo manufacture because of the modest factors that they put into there board. Like mem ok button, core unlock button and great documentation for where almost everything is and where it really should go. Defiantly will be purchasing mor asus stuff in the future thanks newegg!! None so far will report if it fails, or difficulties arise. NVIDIA+ASUS+amd phenom1100T= Awesome!

I pick this motherboard for a client i was constructing a custom PC for mostly because it was at an economical price with "AMD 6-Core ready". Properly that wasn't the case when i booted up the machine and tried to install windows 7 it would generally go to the blue screen of death as some call it. turns out the motherboard didnt recognize the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban two.8GHz 6 core processor. I had to go to ASUS's website and get the updated bios from them and dump it onto a flashdrive. Fortantly this motherboard has an EZ flash utility in bios which produced it quite easy to flash the bios. Following this everything ran fantastic, i was impressed with the board for the price. supports SLI, lots of usb ports, DDR3, EZ flash utility, core unlocker. great board didnt come "AMD 6-core ready" as newegg advertised, the bios version was from 2Ǟ񳏊 so a good couple months old. considering that it was so easy to flash the bios im not knocking off anymore eggs. Overall i feel this is a excellent motherboard for the cost
