Great moterboard
Comment:
I bought this board as part of a rebuild for my wife. I'm not sure what I expected; but, this is a great board for the price. No install issues, no issues at all.

Does the job
Comment:
This motherboard seems to work very well. It is quite small, but that does not affect the performance. My only complaint is the single IDE plug, but most motherboards only have one these days... sigh. Ram comes close to being in the way of the graphics card, but it doesn't, although if your graphics card is long, you have to remove it to get ram in or out. But that is not a big deal. On-board graphics work surprisingly well, I was able to play Half-Life 2: Lost Coast on medium graphics getting 10-20 FPS.

Exceeded expectation

I purchased this MOBO for home and light business use. The Asus P5KPL-AM Se had the features that met my requirements. I was not looking to build a high end power gaming machine! But this Mobo exceeded my needs. Its been running and online from day one, for a total of four weeks. Very empressed.

Great software pkg, solid gear for the money
Comment:
Great board from the manufacturer I ALWAYS buy mobo's from, no problems in 10 years of tinkering. I bough this because it was one of the few affordable mobo's still offering support for p 4 775's. Loaded ex pee with no issues, but tried to get cute and load seven, and the software was not accepted by seven. Im waiting for official release to see what help if any I can get, even though onboards like USB, Sound, Net, etc all working I liked the software product that interfaced the OS to the Mobo. Great find for p 4 775 users looking to run ex pee

Bad Sockets
Comment:
Got two of these in a row, both with bad CPU Sockets. Finally gave up and got a different combo. On paper is a very nice board, hopefully your luck is better than mine.

there are better boards for the price
Comment:
I do prefer this brand for high quality and broad spectrum of features. But this particular motherboard lacks some features you will find in other a s u s boards for practically the same price. Still a good board - just make sure it got what you need. Note: location of the processor socket may prevent installing a large heat sink depending on the case, of course.

Very good Deal

I purchased a barebone computer kit, with the ASUS P5KPL-AM SE Motherboard, to replace my daughters 1987 computer. This was my first barebones, and everything went together very easy. But I did get confused in the USB connector section, where it referenced a warning about the 1394 cable. After getting passed that problem, I finished and turned on the power, and everything worked perfect. The motherboard was just the right size for my daughter. She was very pleased. Now she does not have time to wash dishes while the computer loads up.

ASUS since 1998
Comment:
My first ASUS MB was the CUSL2. It was everything I expected and is still working. Updating to the P5KPL was only needed because of the software and hardware developments. The performance has been great so far but I haven't played with over clocking so far. I just don't need that speed. One thing I wish the board had was another PCI slot. One of my games/simulations didn't provide data that the Realtek audio could translate accurately so I had to throw in an old audio card. I also need to run an old parallel port printer and was hoping to use the PCI slot for that. If I were redesigning this board, especially for old farts like me, I'd add another slot for legacy technology to ease the transition and avoid throwing away good hardware.

Painless!! Great Performance!! Great!!! :-)
Comment:
I needed a new motherboard/CPU bundle for an existing P4 computer. After considering the price and features of various products I settled on this one. I have an Asus LCD monitor and it works great so I was comfortable with buying an Asus product. Using proper anti-static procedures I dropped the processor into its slot. The board fit perfectly in my P4 case. The supplied I/O jack cover fit perfectly. I couldnt get the computer to work at all at first but it turned out that my existing RAM was bad so I ordered two 2GB Kingston 800mhz DDR2 RAM chips from Tiger (4GB all together) that were listed as recommended by Asus in the manual. I installed a new XFX PCI Express video card and after that I was home free! This is one screamin computer!! My kids fight over it because its the best computer in the house. I would buy another Asus motherboard in a heartbeat.
