Excellant board
Comment:
This is an excellant board that installed without any problems. The mobo drivers have already been updated, so I didn't have to contend with that. Exceptional overclocking capabilities, and the included software utilities are extremely useful. Lots of extras like the quick connectors, expansion slot USB and firewire ports, SLI bridge (which I didn't need), onboard HiDef audio, etc. The manual is clear and well written. My setup is: XP pro, C2Duo 7500, 800 Mhz dual channel DDR2 RAM, two 9500GT 512 Meg cards running SLI (the board auto setups for us). Runs Oblivion on Ultra High, and Fallout 3 on High settings. Couple tips: use only RAM from the listed vendors in the manual, and if you're going to make the HDD's a RAID setup, make a drivers disc BEFORE you load the OpSys, and it needs to be copied to a floppy or USB device. I'm very happy with this companies boards and I reccommend this one for anyone building an XP machine for gaming. Quality stuff.

Worst thing i ever bought!
Comment:
So here i am after installation feeling like a champ because everyone said win7-64 didnt work and i assumed they were just retarded. little did i know they were correct. Asus should be ashamed that this board is not 100% compadable with win 7 i cant even get the disk to read. So im sending it back and never buying an Asus again.

Value A little over priced as it doesn't perform quite as advertised if you are using W7. Not supported and no driver updated for W7 so you will be on your own there. Features Lots of features. I have had the book on my desk for a month now and I am still playing with the overclocking features and the added NV features. This makes this board alot of fun for a geek. Quality Is definitely above average. I think next time I will be going back to an Int. board as I have always had stellar experiences with them. This one has been less than stellar but still way up there. If I wasnt a hardcore geek I might have felt a little ripped off as I would understand the value of the copper cooling and various other features like overclock crash protection and auto reset and such. Performance The board says it supports 1066mhz RAM yet it only reads my RAM as 800mhz. Not sure what the deal but I haven't been able to fix it and get it to read the RAM for what it is. Its a big deal to me.

Great value

No issues so far. The install went very smoothly. I like the jumper connectors that Asus provided so you can collect all the little case jumpers on one and just push it on to the MB.

I installed this and have had no problems so far. It does what i need. Had some trouble getting drivers, since asus doesn't support this board with Windoze 7 drivers yet.

Great board
Comment:
This board is perfect for my needs. I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and am running a Q9650 with 8MB of DDR-2 800 OCZ memory and an ASUS EN8800GTX video card. Its been running for a week now with no problems. I thought when I purchased it that I would need to flash to the latest bios, but to my surprise it was already installed.

Bought this and everything was fine until it matter, as in boot. Constant freezes, rarely gets past the ASUS logo screen. Save yourself the trouble and buy something else.

WORST MOTHERBOARD EVER HAD
Comment:
Fist one dead on arrival. Will not post, not boot , just dead. I checked the Internet, lots of people had problems, bad bios,etc... Second one, got in the store, same thing. In the mean time the price dropped 25%. This is not worth even $5. The time I spent, back and forth, the tests, everything. Stay away!

On second one
Comment:
First board lasted about 6 weeks. Will not run 1066 ram at 1066 unless you do some serious tweeking. Just going to let this one run at 800. Was wanting to build a companion sytem for the kid. But, won't be using this model board.

I installed with a q9300 2.50mhz , I was able to overclock it to 3.00mhz with no cooling problems quad processor and works great, good overclocking options.. Only drawback I found was the sata ports are not easy to access in my PC case I use a cooler master cm690 case but besides that is a fantastic motherboard .

Great Mobo just not flexible as I like
Comment:
This mobo is great quality and looks great. It has tons of features that most users will love. PROS: great quality, plenty of support, very roomy to move around, fan speed control within the BIOS. CONS: no AHCI support at all (sorry Hackintoshers), runs a little hotter than I like, had to reinstall Windows 7 after setting up because I got boot loops, driver disc did not want to work inside windows 7, board used more power than my previous Gigabyte (just a little), OC'n is odd as all ASUS boards are. All in all this a great board for a average user or gamer. I used 4 gigs (2x1 gig Corsair and 2x1 gig of Samsung) DDR2 800 memory and it worked without fault. I coupled it with a Radeon 3870HD and my windows index went to 7.1! I actually returned it within 24 hours and picked up a Gigabyte EP45T and 4 gigs of 1600 Corsair XMS3 DDR3 for just a few bucks more just so I can have AHCI support.

It works
Comment:
Get the latest BIOS. I have a Q9450 with 4G of Hyundai DDR2 memory (not listed in the QVL). Two 9800GT's, two SATA drives, one old beat up Fujitsu IDE and a google of card readers. ... The board sees them all. The SATA connections are, as someone else mentioned, a P.I.T.A. Other than that, the board rocks.

Great Value At Modest Price
Comment:
Be sure to only use memory that is listed on the Qualified Vendor list. Booted right up as soon as it was fitted with compatible memory. Only one PCI slot. Contrary to many forum posts, ASUS has an excellent online troubleshooting guide. I solved my problem in less than ten minutes.

so far so good
Comment:
This board has worked great so far. This board is QUIET. I replaced an XFX board with several fans and went from the sound of a vacuum cleaner to virtually no sound at all. The SATA connections (HDD and other drives) are really difficult to access in my case. It seems like a poor location (edge of the board facing out not up) so make sure you look at this before buying. What really matters to me is whether this board lasts and I do not know that yet.

After a nightmare of a time, this has turned out to be a good board. Bios update 1001 update allowed for 45nm quads...that went smooth. but before building a system with this, check the asus site on this board, and download the QVL (qualified vender list) for the current compatible memory. Board very finnicky with a number of memory modules. Shows faulty memory in memtest, and windows memory checker. (did NOT like my OCZ Reapers, or a set of Crucials that i had... once putting in memory on the list... no problems since). Am using a Q9450, and XFX 8800GT, along with compatible crucial memory. As far as the guy below whinning about it not working with his PIRATE version of Vista... well.. that must be YOUR copy of vista.
