ASUS RT-N13U Wireless Router with All-in-One Printer Server
Cons:Keeps failing to connect with telus modem, weak signal, connection keeps dropping with video feeds like Youtube

Pros:Nice looking, compact
Comment:
Got this because it was cheap. Difficulty connecting with telus modem. I had to plug unplug both several times. Finally got it going but weak signal compared to a linksys router I eventually purchased. Also Youtube in my Iphone will not work or any other video streaming. After this I will not buy a wireless device from ASUS period.

ASUS RT-N13U Wireless Router with All-in-One Printer Server
Cons:Antenna is built-in, and cannot be enhanced with after-marketAutomatic Internet setup fails with Shaw Cable models (DOCSIS anyway), and lack of help/documentation can cause problems.Router cannot easily be wall mounted as it has no mounting points.

Pros:Appearance is clean, vertical orientation is maximizes deskspace.Software apps are user-friendlyAbility to use port for network storage very handyHardware switch for Router/AP/Repeater very intuitive

I purchased this 2 weeks ago, and the initial setup of the router went well in terms of setting the name, admin password, and network security key.Thinking all was well, my next step was to setup the attached printer, which was quite quick, and had no problem with the HP Deskjet printer I attached to it. I then update d the BIOS to the newest available, which was a very simple process.Last step (I figured) was to run their automatic setup for the Internet. Given how easy Shaw Cable is to setup normally, I assumed this would be a snap, however their automatic setup fails, with an ambiguous error message. A message to their tech support led to the suggestion I call long-distance to Idaho for support.I left it a week, and thought I'd give it a stab again, and this time, I select  Manual settings as quickly as possible, and on a whim, I cloned the MAC address of my PC to the unit. While not necessary for Shaw, this seemed to have done the trick, as I was able to complete their setup, AND get to the Internet with both my laptop (wireless) and my desktop (direct connect).Connected a powered USB hub (Belkin F5U234) allowed me to connect 2 USB drives to the unit, and then to setup an FTP link to access them. (ftp://xxxx.asuscomm.com) I'd hoped there'd be an easier way to access them from within your home network, but am continuing to test.Hopefully they will update  their documentation and software to accommodate Shaw Cable, or other similar vendors, since I was going to return two of these devices based on the problems I'd had.Otherwise, I would recommend this router based on its price, generally easy configuration, etc.

ASUS RT-N13U Wireless Router with All-in-One Printer Server
Cons:I run an IT support business and have always bought Linksys routers because every single one of them have worked and not failed on me. They are easy to setup and have lots of options.More of my home clients are needing wireless printer access without having to go out and buy a new wireless printer. So far Linksys hasn't come out with any N Wireless Router & Print Servers yet so I thought for a reasonable $84.99 I'd try this Asus. This would save nearly $100 for my clients so they don't have to buy print servers.I bought two of these routers and tried them out this last Saturday. Once I connected one and setup wireless encryption--BOOM, no internet. I go into the setup page and I get this useless error: "You have set the wrong dynamic or static IP address for your RT-N13U." eh what? The router is set to automatically obtain an IP address from the cable modem. Reboot router, power cycle modem--still doesn't work. Then a few minutes later, I get internet IP, then it stops working again and gives me the same error. I install the latest firmware for the router and it still gives me grief. I reset the router many times. Still same error. I try the second router I recieved and get the same error and problem. So I'm guessing there's an issue with some Shaw Cable modems and these Asus routers. Which is totally unacceptable! EVERY Linksys router I've used with ANY age and type of Shaw Cable or Telus modem have worked off the bat, NO SETUP, NO TINKERING, just plug and boom I get an IP.

Pros:Small & compact, nice looking. Well-labelled & colored ports. A very handy switch to enable router & access point modes.
Comment:
I should've known and let Asus do what they do best: motherboards. I wasted an hour at a clients and will now have to deal with hard to reach Asus support which, by the way, is not available on weekends. My first 2 Asus routers I've ever bought, and they both were bad. Nice odds. So, stay away from this lemon! Stick with Linksys.
