Best heatsink out of all current 5850's, voltage handle, insane overclocking threshold, cost, brand, warranty, you get the thought. N/A I googled 5850 DirectCU and there are far more than 10 outlets that have them in stock but at a lot larger rates. Oh properly guess I will have to order from a distinct internet site =(

Overclocks well. Smartdoctor core clock limit is 900 Working with Swiftech MCW80 waterblock for cooling, don't consider a complete cover waterblock exists that would fit this card. Have to use smartdoctor for voltage manage as I cannot get msi afterburner to adjust the voltage and I use afterburner for clocking so i can go above a 900 core clock. (luckily both applications operate collectively well) I am unable to flash this card with winflash to save OC settings (may be achievable with one more plan, not sure) Current stable overclock is core򍶈 mem򍹐 @ 1.299v and max load temp of 39c on water.I would advocate this card but am unable to give it 5 eggs primarily due to the smartdoctor program is pretty lame and limiting. If everyone knows a way to make afterburner adjust the voltage please post!

Just replaced my 5770 (which was brand new) with this. It powers my Eyefinity 5850 nicely. Could use another port or two on it to justify the double wide PCI slot. The ATI "Command Center" is a wreck and instance of poor UI. Had issues installing drivers soon after 5770 issues. Had to reinstall Windows to get Command Center to not error out on installation. With an SSD at least it's a swift reload. Why make a UI so challenging to use when you don't even profit from supporting confused customers that need to use it? Thanks to those who post how to videos online to lead you in the proper direction when you get stuck behind very negative UI.

Wow this card overclocks like a dream. With a minor voltage adjusment by means of Asus Smartdoctor, I was in a position to run 975 on the core and 1350 on the memory, faster clocks then the 5870 initially evening trying :) The cooling style is way better then reference styles. Its Asus you kidding. Just purchase it currently.

Temps, at 1.23v 975񳃒 it fly's while staying at a constant 61c. At 60% fan speed you get a really low hum. My GTX 260 was quiet but this issue just plain silent. My case temps stayed more or much less the same, the aftermarket sink is top rated-notch and incredibly effective.Im playing at 1680x 1050 so I can max out virtually each game, extremely nice given that I was not in a position to do that with my GTX 260. I can only over-volt utilizing Doctor, Afterburner will not let me more than-volt, not sure how the user below me achieved that. Good price to efficiency ratio, achieving 5870 speeds at low temps and the card begs for far more. Cant wait till the ten.four, hopefully it will repair a few issues.Idles @ 38ኃc heavily more than-volted so im not complaining..Thanks to Asus for such a masterpiece. Hopefully they will continue to have stock, I wouldn't mind a second a single =)

Love this GPU. Rips by means of every little thing I throw at it and New Egg got it right here in no time. Love New Egg Not seriously a con but it OCs stable superior with the integrated intelligent doctor software. It is easy to use and you can bump the voltage, core clock and memory with it. Has been quite stable when making use of intelligent doctor and am able to attain 5870 clocks

1. Overclocks really properly, at present at 950񳃒 with only a small bump in voltage.2. Stays fairly cool, idle: 40c (after overclock), load 75c (after overclock).three. Excellent searching none-reference design by asus.four. Capability to modify voltage with out flashing the bios! Only con I can believe of is not actually about the card, but rather Asus SmartDoctor, it has a actually dated interface and limits your core clock to 900mhz. On the other hand, you can get around its limitations by utilizing afterburner or a different overclocking suite for the actual clocks, and just use smartdoctor for the voltage. I wish afterburner could see that my card has an unlocked voltage... But this card is fantastic, I nevertheless haven't seen how far it can go with more voltage!

Upgraded from a really aging 8800GT to this and wow was it worth it. I can run Undesirable Firm two maxed at 1920x1080 with out a hitch. Even when operating with oc'd settings, the cooler nevertheless remains fairly quiet and runs cool. It's an Asus so plug it in and forget about it. Had to wait a few days for the Catalyst ten.four update to fix the slow map loading in Negative Organization two.

I've got the reference card that's been sold out on the Egg for months now. But I just ordered this 1 to add to it. I've got it overclocked to 825mhz on the core, the memory at 1100 if i keep in mind appropriately, and i dont keep in mind the voltages. but it runs stable all day just about every day and the temps are typically high 30s. perhaps more than 40 if im playing a blu ray film. i ran an hdmi cable from the card to a 32 in flat screen, and the picture did appear great from a standard sitting distance, but if you paid sufficient attention you could inform the screen looked virtually like it was becoming viewed behind a shaky camera. it didnt flicker, but it was slightly shaking. even so, on my 21 in 1080p monitor, it looks excellent. Does what a Graphics card does and does it with excellence.Plays my most intensive game I have-Battlefield Poor Organization two- with all settings maxed out (and some a lil much more than regular max) with ease and stays cool undertaking it. The supplied drivers that came with disk worked fine, but map loading time on Battlefield Poor Business two was lengthy- about 1 minute....On the other hand.....I identified out that all 5xxx series graphics cards had the similar concern with that distinct game, and it was a driver concern. So I uninstalled Catalyst Control Center and downloaded the newest version from ATI (version 1.6 at time of this writing) re-installed and map load time went from about 1 minute to 7 seconds!tiny dilemma solved easily A lot more game particulars you want?....fineInitial, in CCC I turned the game A.I. setting to highest, and AA setting to highest. Then in BFBC2 game I maxed out and turned on each selection (except V-sync) and set resolution to 1920x1200.Then in the BFBC2 settings file (which can be found at :Computer\ Local Disc (C:)\ Customers\ "your computer system name"\ My Documents\ BFBC2\ settings) I improved the field of view (FOV value in settings file) from the default value of 55 to 65 (which gives a 90 degree field of view)- looks much better on wide-screen monitor, and NO ITS NOT A HACK- its an advertised option by EA...and with all that I by no means drop beneath 40 frames per second, and temps never go above 52 degrees celcius (without overclock)My rig:Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black edition 3.4GHzG Skill 4x1GB 1600 RAMIntel 80GB SSD (Windows 7)Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB (storage)Antec Nine Hundred Two Situation (with optional side panel intake fan- C**lermaster 120mm኶CFM)

card is cool and quiet, left fan controll on automobile and haven't heard it at all over my case fansƒx 250mm) and they arent that loud at all, can only hear them when speakers arent makin noise. idles @ 31c and for the duration of gaming highest ive noticed is 46c did a tiny oc'ing to play about with and havent noticed any real increase in temp, and id rather test temps on a game (i like mmo's) then on a benchmark cuz probabilities are youll upgrade before a game really functions more than your card like a benchmark. for these searching for a very good upgrade that will last a though, low temps=long life, couple that with asus quality and this card must last till subsequent build (i go every single 2-four years depending on upgrades), or till they do away with the need for devoted graphics cards all together I have a "screwless situation" and the assistance bracket on this wont alow the pressure lever to close so i guess i "had" a screwless case. the bracket is removable but its there to preserve te card from bending and ive had smaller cards that did that so im gonna leave it on and place a couple of screws in, not a issue with the card just anything to hold in thoughts if you dont have any screws to use. no eggs off for it as it has nothing at all to do with efficiency, and i was alittle dissapointed as i ordered this on friday an it didnt come till tuesday..... but it looks like i got 1 of the last in stock cuz they sold out by the time i got household to install, test and write this critique. i upgraded from an asus eah4850 and @ idle it was 42c-46c with the fan blowing at 70% (i refused to go any larger cuz the noise but this this is like night and day)it is a tiny beefier than i thought itd be but i believe it looks good not overly huge or rediculouse searching, did i mention this this is quiet? will most likely post yet another review as soon as i get some real time into it for those searching to o'c it ill attempt to post a pretty comprehensive evaluation of that in about 2 weeks i typically dont bother o'cing withing the 1st two-three weeks cuz o the return policies and i dont have funds bursting out of my pockets but soon after 30 days i got to deal with the manufacturer so ill have to pay anyway. my recomendation so far tho Buy THIS CARD! do it now you wont regret it

Runs about 10c cooler than the reference 5850, overvolts far better than ANY 5850 out ATM. Can surpass 5870 speeds quickly using Afterburner. Intelligent Medical doctor is useless considering that it capped at 900Mhz. OSD is un-necessary bloatware. Just like Massive Mike Pointed out, this card will not execute up to the users expectations if all he does is slap the card in and install the included computer software. If you want to do it proper you will will need to edit a few settings and fiddle with the clocks/voltage to get it stable. There is no will need to flash the Bios, the current Bios operates perfectly fine. The only computer software that am using is Afterburner, there is no require to use Doctor and OSD.

I overclocked it to 1000mhz core at 1.3v I havent taken the ram past 1300mhz but would in all probability preserve going up but I read theres no advantage going above 1175mhz for the ram. I only utilized CCC for overclocking and wise doctor for the voltage ajustment. They come with the item. Im using default as of now to make it last till I will need the power down the road. Wise docter went up to 1.35v is for benching only. 1.3v can be utilised everyday. I dont need either but when I need it Ill overvolt them bolth at 1.three max and then SLI for Battlefield 3 Subsequent Year =:) Hopefully the second 1 overclocks to 1ghz core. Wish it would overclock to 1000mhz at 1.22v :(

Incredibly quiet even when overclocked. Incredibly good performance. Got it is as an open box for 趐. The value for DX11 products is nonetheless too high. Shame on ATI and Nvidia. Installed it and upped the core to 850 in CCC, no voltage adjustment needed. May get one more one later this year if they prove capable of running heavily tesslated games in crossfire.

See other thoughts.. See other thoughts.. Have had this GPU considering that launch at 1025񳃫 and the only poor thing I can say about it is the truth that it makes my case temps a bit warmer than regular, especially in these instances. Other than that it is a superb piece of art, quiet & effective at stock volts. At the moment making use of ten.four drivers with no concerns other than the tearing in specific games (v-Sync)Achieving speeds that exceed those of the 5870 is the icing on the cake, stays soo cool no matter how much voltage you apply. When Asus said Bang for Buck they meant it...

Good looks, excellent overclocking, software program volt modification is neat. Temps remain fairly good. Asus SmartDoctor wants Gamer OSD (which is useless to me) also installed or it bugs you every time you boot. SmartDoctor's interface does not give very good feedback (no charts for example) and looks sorely outdated. It's challenging to get the clock speeds at round numbers mainly because you can't use keys to adjust the clocks 1 unit at a time. I would appreciate it if Asus would release a greater developed utility, but the card is great adequate not to subtract eggs and the overclocking software program does as advertised.

I can run:Borderlands 60+ FPSCrysis (Highest Settings) 40+ FPSCrysis Warhead (Highest Settings) 45+ FPSMetro 2033 (Highest Settings) 25+ FPSFar Cry two 80+ FPSFallout three 60+ FPSAnd that's at stock settings. The only title I've been dissapointed with has been Metro 2033, but that's due to the fact it's an NVidia "Way It's Meant To Be Played" game. (i.e. They cripple it for all ATI cards. The GTX 460 beats a 5970 in this game)This card overclocks like a dream. The DirectCU cooler enables temps to stay low even at 950 core/ 1250 mem speeds. It's remarkable. At stock voltages and clocks, you can run at 55 degrees Celsius in Furmark. 55!!! With the 950񳃒 overclock this card can reach up to the level of a 5870, for 趚. The CrossFire scaling is great, but not awesome. Two of these will match a 5970. Has a 6 pin and an 8 pin power connector. Uh....doesn't make me breakfast or lunch, and it can't boil me some water for ramen like a GTX 480 can. All of my framerates were at the max settings (AA and AF) at 1680x1050. This card definitely does blow away something at this resolution or at 1920x1080

Making use of this card with i7-930, 6gb DDR3, I can run crysis on gamer settings 8x AA at 1680x1050 with a best frame rate, never stutters. I can run it on enthusiast with 8xAA but it has a slight frame rate deficiency (and I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to frame rate). Essentially can run nearly any game maxed out with AA and everything at that resolution. It runs cold and it is quiet. The power connectors are on the end of the card which is a little awkward but if you have a decent case, not seriously a large deal. On my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R mobo, they get in the way of the sata ports a little bit. Nothing crippling, just a slight annoyance. Not worth a complete egg. Believed I purchased the OC'd 1 but it turns out I didn't no biggie, it comes with asus computer software to OC it yourself. I'm reasonably positive that it is the identical card, just not factory OC

This card has observed some crazy summer temps, here in Tex it can get up to 105F outside and space temps hit 85F rather very easily. Thanks to the DirectCU cooler it never ever went past 68c no matter what game/bench. I am so happy this card came down in value, I will be picking up a second one soon for CF. None, the card is flawless. The drivers on the other hand are meh.. More than-volted @ 1.28v 񡺁񳄄) and still wont break 70c. Don't forget to take away the cooler and re-paste with MX-two or equivalent. For those who can get it to work I here it does a fairly very good job and I bought it for the price like so several others, but... I've read that a lot of people today have difficulties with the overclocking and have to "dumb down" the speed to get games to perform suitable. My large con is in other thoughts. I began constructing a new machine with an ASUS PT6D MB with an i7 quad-core and 12GB of RAM on Win7-64. When I installed it win loaded a standard VGA driver to get the machine operating. When I installed the drivers/tweak software my machine would freeze during post on the restart. I tried updated drivers from ATI and ASUS as properly as changing power hook-ups and even sending it back to Newegg for a replacement, thinking possibly I just got a bad card. The second one acted the similar way. I can put my old GeForce 8800 GTS in and it functions perfectly. So now I tried contacting Newegg asking for a refund and they mentioned they don't offer you a refund only replacement, which does me no excellent. I was going to refund and get 2-Geforce cards, but now I'm just going to either use my old card or order from an additional supplier. Newegg just lost a customer. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Asus Consumer,We sincerely apologize for the issue you have skilled with this videocard. Our Technical Support Department can be contacted through http://vip.asus.com/eservice/techserv.aspx to request for RMA service.Best Regards,DonAsus Item Support
