I believed Sapphire had the very best 5850 till I bought this beast. I can clock this infant to about 1050񳄄 @ 1.28v and it won't even hit 70c (fan curve) while running furmark.Just like quite a few here have stated already, this Asus 5850 DirectCU is by far the greatest 5850 you can get as of 04񳏊, especially at 320.00$. None, nada.

Quiet and very quickly. 3rd monitor output is practically impossible to obtain without a monitor that possesses a Display Port input. I've spent an entire months trying adapters and cables and just can't get 'Eyeinfinity' enabled. Technique will see the monitor, but refuses to send to it. It just stays blank. I purchased this purely based on my intention to dump all but 1 graphics card and still have triple head. Obviously, ATI isn't going to make that appear to be eliminating the other class ports in favor of DP :(

- Very quiet, runs cool- Runs the few games ive attempted so far great- Looks cool lol - Drivers atm ྪ series) dont function wonderful with the game i play most atm (ffxi). This is far more of an ATI issue than this card particularly, but i felt it need to be mentioned. New drivers will come soon so im not too worried, so far im truly impressed. Would advise for sure, will be acquiring a 2nd when i get the funds.

Nice style, fan is barely audible over my case even when at full load. Bought from one more retailer and Smart Doctor refused to see it as a card that would accept voltage manipulation. RMA'ing after talking to Asus Tech Support. Their conclusion was it was either defective or an individual had flashed it with distinct BIOS. Intelligent Doctor is as bad as everybody makes it out to be. Very good hardware (in theory) with less than adequate software support. To the reviewer who was able to adjust the voltage on this card with MSI Afterburner, congratulations. You'd be the first I've come across. From everything I've seen, you can't use AB on this card due to a non-reference PCB. Though you can use it for clocks and fan speed control, it can\'t adjust voltage. Even flashing the BIOS will not alleviate this, as it is a hardware difference and not a software program distinction.

This factor is remarkable. Coming from a GTX 260 it is a lot cooler and considerably quieter! I did alot of investigation on the 5850 cards and settled on this 1 simply because of the overclocking capacity. Only 3 year warranty? Dosent matter. Im certain ill be upgrading prior to that time anyway. The software program is a lot different than nvidia. This is my initial ati card, not saying its poor but will take a small finding utilized to. Brought my windows expertise index score up from 7.two to 7.7 Thats just before overclocking. Off to YouTube to figure this stuff out.

1) Runs extremely cool ࿀ deg C idle at room temp)two) Runs graphics intensive games smoothly (Bad Organization two, Crysis at 1920 x 1080 resolution)three) Open card style is greater than Boxed in design. -> Much better heat dissapation. -> Dust doesn't get trapped, simpler to clean out dust.4) ASUS is a very dependable brand from my experiences so far. None so far.

My idle is @ 33c 1.21v. The card itself is much better constructed than any other 5850 out ATM. I can push this baby to 1000񳃫 1.24v and it begs for far more. The heat-sink does the job well and I can barely hear the card at 75% fan speed.Move over Vapor-X, the DirectCU just took your spot! None, NADA! It was a incredibly effective card, for the week I employed it. It ran most every thing I was playing at high with incredibly few lapse in stability. It also stayed cool while ingame, most likely a max of 45c. It was almost certainly a poor selection obtaining an AMD card suitable now. Drivers continually crashed without having any sort of a visible error message.Difficult to overclock - Catalyst's auto-tune function set it's clock to 945mhz, but whenever I changed the clock speed to anything but stock the drivers would crash. Some men and women may possibly have superior luck than me, but drivers are a actual let down when it came to this acquire. I truly hope they choose up their act soon.Construct: Intel Core i5-2500, ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 Intel Motherboard, ASUS AMD Radeon HD 5850

Runs good, fast and cool. It does about 50-60fps on max settings in Crysis, even in heat of the battle, very good adequate for me! It was running at five FPS on any setting, then I realized my Nvidia drivers never ever got effectively installed. I utilised a driver sweeper, and I nonetheless had low FPS. Finally, I swept all NVidia drivers (using a nvidia 680i chipset mobo), and then I got the card working correctly. Worth the income, just took me a week to figure out why I was finding such low FPS at initial. If you are utilizing an NVidia mobo, be confident you sweep the drivers off initially!!!

OC capability is wonderful. Correct now I have it at 825 and 1200 with no voltage alter. The GPU can go higher. Temp has by no means gotten above 54c even though playing Arma2:OA with all maxed out settings. This card is a steal with the rebate now. None, completely none. I loaded Catalyst 10.8 immediately after creating the new build. Has worked perfectly.my develop:Asus P7P55D EV01 TB Samsung F3Corsair 850TX4gb Ripjawsi5-760Every thing is OC'd that can be and it works nicely together.

Cool! Quiet! Fast! Fantastic overclockinglow voltage. almost everything its said to be, a lot more than I expected, Wonderful for my resolution 񢄐x1050) can play almost everything on max settings. In my Lancool (lian li) PC-K62, the card does not fit 100%, as it doesnt 'clamp down' to the CASE'S (not mobo's) PCI rear slot completely due to its metal frame. I cant cut it since that would just be stupid, but with it clamped halfway it is nonetheless working just fine. man asus really knows what theyre performing. so glad I didn't go XFX/Sapphire. directCU is awesome, so cool (literally) and asus lets you mess with the voltage as properly!

Cons: -non reference-hard to find aftermarket coolers-waterblocks don't fit

Pros: -performs well-10 degrees cooler than reference-a custom pcb that still contains voltage regulation modules

This card overclocks wonderfully, and ASUS warranty is top notch as always! It runs at stock core/mem/voltage. Overclocked to 900/1200/1.2v!

Got this for a customer and I tried it. Very very nice car. I don't like non-reference cards but this one you can't go wrong. Runs CODMW2, BF:BC2, DIRT2 easily at max res. with a i7 920 D0.

ASUS Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) EAH5850 DIRECTCU/2DIS/1GD5 Video Card w/ Eyefinity
Cons: - Heat is dumped inside the case, this is not a pproblem for large well ventilated cases, but can be an issue in small cramped cases. This is actually an added strength if you have a well ventilated case as more air will pass through the half exposed heat sink, making the card temperatures even better- The fan is a bit noisy when ramping up as the temperature rises, but it's manageable

Pros: - Asus is generally a brand name you can rely on for service and quality- More efficient cooling than the reference models, which in turns makes it an easy overclocker- Unlocked voltage control, again, to easily take it further in overclocking
Comment:
I bought 2 of these to crossfire them in my Silverstone TJ10 case, and they work admirably. I could easily from the get-go clock them as high as stock 5870 cards, with no hiccup or temperature problems whatsoever, and they can go even higher, although I only did some preliminary tests. The way I figured, with 2 of these cards, I get even more performances than a single 5970 card, for about the same price, and I wasn't disappointed as this is exactly what I'm seeing. I also get the added benefit of both cards having their own 16X PCI-E rail, instead of sharing a single 16X, and also better cooling as both GPU have their own heat sink.Overall, highly recommended, in crossfire or standalone.
