ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:Looked a bit washed out on first hookup and HDMI did not use full screen at first (read Summary for more details)

Pros:Big screen, Loads of hook ups, nice options.
Comment:
When I initially hooked up my alienware laptop to the HDMI port, it didn't use the whole screen, but I was able to fix it by adjusting a setting in the ATI control panel, I think it was an ATI issue not a monitor issue. As for looking washed out, I simply changed the profile to the "Theater mode" and it looked nice (to me any way). This monitor is super bright, I lowered the brightness to 50% and its probably just as bright as my old LCD on full. Its really nice for reading because the text is nice and big ^_^ although I do have to actually move my head to see the whole screen, but I don't mind ^_^ I have only used this for less then a day, but so far 0 dead pixels and no problems. If I have a difference of opinion or problems I'll re-post here, otherwise its a nice monitor and I would buy again.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:Honestly after 5 months I can't think of any.

Pros:Vivid (Even better with Nvidia Digital Vibrance!)Large but not too bigClarityZero ghostingLow imput lag (For games such as street fighter 4 with a complex linking system that can be affected by imput lag)PriceResolution (2560x1600 is too large and you literally need a top of the line PC to run games at a playable frame rate)Color modes (Theater mode great for HDMI'd consoles)Shape is standard (Nothing wacky or off center like some monitors)Warranty should a problem arise
Comment:
Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a great gaming monitor or for video/photo editing. I came from a 22" so the size difference blew me away!

Cons:-price

Pros:-great for movies
Comment:
is great for viewing from further away, but for desktop, 24" will do great. They have the same resolution as 24" so you wouldn't be seeing anymore than a 24", but you do get a bigger picture.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: not really a weakness, but would've been nice to include a remote

Pros: Asus brand, screen size, value/price
Comment:
This is probably the greatest monitor at this size and for this price. the video/game quality is superb. of course coming from Asus, you don't have to worry about build quality. The buttons are at the bottom, not in the front like the other Asus monitor i had, and i think i prefer this.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: Overly Bright, Loss of Color Depth, Menu's a bit clunky.

Pros: Thin, comes with cables, good design, massive, no dead pixels.
Comment:
I use Samsung F2380's at the office so the difference between the brightness of this monitor and the F2380's is huge, in a bad way. It's so bright it washes out greys on white backgrounds and makes subtle gradients almost disappear.I've tried tweaking the color settings as much as possible but still can't arrive at a satisfactory balance between brightness and contrast. It's huge, designed nice enough, and bright... but too bright. Maybe due to LED? This makes a poor choice for office/home office monitor.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: random flickering issues with no fix only rma option

Pros: bright, cheap, led, great image and colors when configured correctly
Comment:
I would love this monitor if it wasn't for the flickering issues I am having where it blanks out then comes back on it does it randomly, sometimes hours without problems then it does it again for 30 minutes or more on and off with what looks like distorted images or just plain blank screen for a second then comes back on. sometimes it will do it ever few seconds which is annoying i tried everything from reinstalling video card drivers to changing the dvi, etc. but the problems still exists. I just did some research apparently there are others that have the same issues with no fix only rma. I hope my rma to ncix will have a perfect working monitor. I started to really love this monitor. would have given 5 stars easily if it wasn't for the the random flickering.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: 2 dead pixels right in my face when I turned on the monitor for the first time... big deception. One blue pixel and red for the other. The red one is not a big deal but the blue one is a lot visible. There's no returns possible because the ASUS politique's is that their monitors are Certified ''OK'' although 5 dark pixels or less and/or 3 bright pixels or less are defectives (or something like that)... Too bad, 3 stars.

Pros: Bright (LED), impressive size, nice finish, easy to setup, P in P, a lot of connexions, speakers (useless in my case), solid stand. I payed under 300$ for this monitor, a real joke for that kind of product.
Comment:
Without the dead pixels problems, I probably choosen 5 stars for this monitor. Great product for the price.I recommend it.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: - Out of the box, the brightness & contrast presets were really high; had to lower it- TN panel, 60Hz, only 1920x1080- No height adjustment- Touchy power connector (to the monitor end) - an accidental movement of the cord would disconnect the power

Pros: - Excellent value at weekend special for $299- Lots of input options (2x HDMI, DVI, VGA)- Crystal clear- Scenery presets- 27" of glory- Sound output (if connecting to HDMI with sound)- 1080P- Good protective packaging; easy to assemble
Comment:
So I was going to buy the Dell Ultra Sharp 27" for $800 but my gift cards only totaled to $350. Luckily, this unit was on sale and after reading some reviews, I decided to save a bit of cash and go for this Asus VE278Q.There's a huge difference from a 1080P 24" - I just watched the first episode of The Pacific and it was great. Granted the Dell unit would allowed a much higher resolution but I would've been paying three times the cost. Great monitor and would definately buy another should I decide to go dualies Sadly, I don't have much desk space right atm and this thing takes quite a bit vs a 24".

Cons: Resolution (Maybe)

Pros: Size, price, LED, brightness, clarity
Comment:
Best 27" for the price out there. The LED blacklight really stands out and makes this monitor shine. Anyone who games, I highly recommend this monitor.only downside would be the resolution (16:9) but, to purchase an 27" monitor with a higher res, you would be looking at spending at least $700

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: None

Pros: Price, Size, Image Quality
Comment:
Everyone who games should have a 27inch monitor, this is the sweet spot for getting the most enjoyment on a typical desk set up. It's just the right size, not too big but any bigger and it would be.The image quality is superb, this is my first LED monitor so I don't have much comparison but certainly no complaints. I did have to adjust the brightness on the settings as I found it too bright out of the box but that's simply preference. Not much else to say really, great price and great monitor... didn't try the speakers on it but most won't need them since you'll most likely have a set for your computer already.

Cons: Stuck pixel.

Pros: Large, bright, nicely designed display.
Comment:
I'd give this monitor a 4 or 5 if it didn't have a stuck pixel. I don't believe any brand new product should be considered "normal" and not covered by the manufacturer in this situation.Other than that, the monitor is everything I hoped for. Good value.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: Poor stand, had to RMA the first one.

Pros: Big, Bright, not to bad of a price
Comment:
For a TN panel, these are fantastic value. Cool running, and very low power -1/3 the power of my 24" MVA panel. at 50 brightness, 80 contrast all 3 combined consume only 89w of power(Killawatt power meter). 3 years of warranty. They do take about 10-15 minutes to "warm up" I find they seem a bit bright until then, like the gamma is too high. After that, they have quite nice color contrast, and some of the best blacks I have ever seen on any LCD panel...not the equal to my Panasonic plasma, but darned good blacks. Way darker than MVA or IPS panels.

Cons: Bad quality stand

Pros: Great pictureGood colors Decent price
Comment:
I've had this monitor for about a week now, it's great for gaming, watching movies and browsing the web. The only problem is the stand is really really bad. If I type too fast the screen will wobble a little bit. Dosen't happen to much when gaming so it dosen't bother me that much. if you have the money, try and get this wall-mounted. Other then that its a great monitor.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: -My sample has light leakage at the bottom and sides.-As per other reviews, a wobbly stand-Limited PIP input combination. Can't do DVI/HDMI. I have DVI connected to the computer and I can not PIP my PS3. You can only PIP display port or VGA if you already have a DVI as your main connection.-No volume control buttons.

Pros: -Price-LED monitor in a 27" size-Looks simple and clean, nice glossy back.-Runs very cool-alright Speakers, you can use them as a last resort, nice to have.
Comment:
I work in TV productions and I stare at monitors many times its' price and I can barely tell the difference, if any. Can't go wrong at this price for a 27" monitor. Go buy it already. Now. Get two... or three

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: - The "Splendid" settings are all terrible- In Standard Mode and sRGB, the Saturation, Color Temp, Skin Tone, Sharpness, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. I recommend starting with Scenery Mode and adjusting from there.- Cannot use DVI/HDMI simultaneously in PIP Mode- No auto-sensing inputs- Cumbersome OSD button configuration- Ships with no manual! Note: After registering with ASUS, I was able to find a user guide. I hosted it here:http://www.mediafire.com/?77oppbd8e4ep3d7- Doesn't include HDMI or DisplayPort cables- Would be nice to have a remote to adjust audio levels without using the OSD- The stand is a bit wobbly and monitor sits fairly low. I recommend wall-mounting if that's an option. I grabbed a $15 mount from Monoprice:http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=6514&seq=1&format=2

Pros: - Good features vs price for a 27" LED LCD- DisplayPort- Built-in speakers- Very bright- Vibrant colours- Fast response- Low power consumption
Comment:
I bought this monitor from NCIX. It seems to be in pretty high demand right now; it was backordered for about a week before it shipped, and newegg is currently out of stock as well. I must say, it was worth the wait, and I can see why it's a popular choice for those looking for a larger monitor. I upgraded from an old LG 22" panel and it's a pretty big difference, not just in size, but in picture quality as well. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons: Sits quite low to the MT276 (I traded that for this). I find it has to be raised up for the average desk height. Always looking down from a fold up chair. Get a wall mount. NO REMOTE! Even despite the bad stand, no remote like the MT, it is such a good panel it is not worth loosing a star!

Pros: This is the best 27" screen around right now. The Black levels are very rich, unlike other washed out screens. (This coming from a video editor). The colors are very accurate for a non-professional screen too. Not perfect, but also not $2000! The sound is actually not that bad for what it is.
Comment:
I also got this before NCIX had them. I upgraded from the MT version of this screen, because I did not like how black was washed out on that screen. When I first powered this baby up, WOW, night and day from the Samsung and Asus MT 27" screens. Response time, although rated the same is absolutely better. I am in awe of this awesome screen...especially for under 400!!!! If your a gamer, the best one you can get (I have all the current models in this size). If you are a video editor, you will be satisfied with this...especially if you do not have the cash for a certified colour accurate screen.
