Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:very very bad back light bleed
Pros:-vivid color-fast response rate-stylish Comment:
This is a very good wide screen for text reading and gaming, but for movies, forget about it, the backlight bleeding has ruined it totally. I bought this monitor in December, and the total usage time is probably around 500hrs. I began to notice the blacklight bleed after the first 4 and 5 weeks of using it, and it slowly got worse. But i could only notice it when watching movies, the black area appeared grey and washed out, very painful, contrast, brightness and gamma won't help. Not recommended if you watch a lot of movies like I do. However, it's still a good monitor for a internet surfer, text editor or gamer. I am rating it a 1 star because This review was modfied by poster @ 06-02-08 01:02 AM |

Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:-flimsy stand-noticeable backlight bleeding -limited calibration options-no drivers, none, nor any calibration software
Pros:-Price-ergonomics (clean design)-features (HDCP,DVI,VGA,)-gaming performance (no noticeable ghosting) Comment:
First let me start by saying I moved from a beautiful 19" NEC CRT(kicked the bucket) to this so my review may be a little review on an LCD (a TN at that) may seem a little harsh. The colours are not only slightly washed out (even after calibrating as best I could) but also seem to blend into each other rather than stand out. For instance when viewing a colour bar it is very difficult to differentiate when a new colour starts or ends. This may be acceptable to some on a sub $250 LCD though. Also the stand, it is flimsy. The slightest bump on your desk will make the screen wobble. Another thing is the backlight bleeding which I assume is unavoidable on a TN panel but you really notice it in a movie with a lot of dark scenes. What I like is that for its price, I mean its a 22"er for less than $250, it has HDCP, high contrast ratio and a low response time. Gaming is quite god with this monitor aswell. Infact I was worried that I was going to get 'ghosting" although I have noticed none whatsoever. Backlight bleeding is also not noticeable in game. They look terrific too in widescreen. Lastly, its great for web surfing, much better imo than a 4:3. There is a ton of real estate here, its nice, for example, too have a video going on one side of the screen while having plenty of room left over for having a browser open as well. All in all I am, for the most part, happy with this unit...especially at its price point. |

Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:For the price, none
Pros:Cheap, has HDCP, DVI and all the features you want Comment:
Great monitor for the price. You don't get the height adjustment features, but you also don't pay for them. I got no dead pixels on mine but that varies no item by item. Does everything I need it to do, looks great, stylish and for the price, unbeatable. |

Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor
Cons:None
Pros:Cheap22"Long warrantycompact design Comment:
A really nice monitor from a reliable brand. The black color matches my custom built case. This is the best bargain for a 22" 1650x1080 5ms 2000:1 monitor, I couldnt believe the specs at such a price |
I just bought this monitor for a customer that wanted a 22 inch and not pay to much. For 220$ 5ms 2500:1 you can't go wrong the monitor can do 1650X1050. Sure it is not a 3000:1 2ms monitor, but will be ok for average jobs. design is great too thats why I recomend it to ayone who wants an all around 22inch monitor
