Altec Lansing expressionist BASS Speaker System (Black)

Perfect speakers for the price and dont need a lot of space for them, sounds amazing.. Will buy it again for my office.

Pretty decent sound coming from these 2 channel speakers. Although the footprint of the speaker bases are larger than normal to accommodate the downward firing woofer, they sound pretty decent and spread the sound throughout the room. I would not recommend these speakers if you have little kids - they're glossy black finish are irresistible to my toddler and the downward firing woofers don't have a grill to protect them from accidental fingers when picking them up so you do have to exercise some caution when moving them around. The speakers have inputs for standard pc audio as well as inputs for iPods. I chose the Altec Lansing because their sound fidelity seem to be among the best on the market for those emphasizing value. Would definitely recommend these again but not for those needing the heavy hitting of a dedicated subwoofer unit.

I am losing my hearing, so TV and computer never have enough volume. These are amazing; no distortion and plenty of volume with depth to spare. May end up getting two more sets, they are that good!

I have an additional Altec Lansing speaker set at my home office which has the separate bass module. I wanted the bass but didn't want the extra piece for my work office. These speakers are a great compromise giving very nice bass detail, small footprint, great value, and very slick design. You won't be disappointed!

great sound with enough bass to vibrate the drink on my desk all over my keyboard. the speakers dont move but everything else does! the sound is clear all the way to max volume. only thing missing is bass and treble controls but if your sound card has that feature u dont need it.

Produce balanced midrange and highs. They reproduce bass, but the response is a bit boomy, bordering on excessive. EQ can smooth out the response.

I am very happy with my new speakers. They have just enough bass to give my music some real kick. Also, they do not take up a lot of space which is another plus.

Although I can't imagine anyone paying the full MRP for the units, they do perform reasonably well at low to moderate levels. At higher levels, there is considerble distortion and intermodulation. Still a good byuy.

I bought these speakers for my work office. I work at a college and have a constant flow of students. At first they think I have two coffee pots, but when I tell them those are my speakers they are amazed at the sound, as-well-as I am. I cannot increase the volume to high with these speakers, because of my environment, but I do get a very good full range of sound.

...weekly for these kind of deals especially. These Altec Lansing speakers set up with the logitech system i already had brought my PC desk to life. Games and movies are really enhanced. Can't go wrong with these during the current special 54 CAD.

its a cheap and good product and brand, volume is not that loud good for games and movies - not to good for music if u like it loud, bass is crazy, if u want the all round speaker system go with the other altec 2.1 it has everything u would need but the price of this is good

Couldn't wait to listen to these speakers as soon as I got them. I was not disappointed at all. Awesome dynamic range and bass! I use them with my portable XM radio, laptop, flat panel tv and tube tv (PS2). I'm considering purchasing another pair so that I don't have to keep switching them out between the tv and portable.

This set of 2.2 speakers produce great sound and the bass is as I wanted. I listen to a lot of Reggae and Soca music as I am from Caribbean and this offer great bass as songs intend to listen too. All in all these speaker work great and i am satisfied with my purchase. I love the look as it looks different from other speakers and the 2 subs are great so not too many cords and speakers. The name says it all Expressionist Bass.

These are really good speakers. The bass is fantastic. This is a great brand and the first time I've seen a set of speakers that doesn't need a big subwoofer box as a third component. The bass is built right into the same cone as the mid-high speakers. And they were practically half price. I'm completely satisfied.

love the sound. may be a little to much bass for most but i really like it. sound quality is very nice. use this for my pc and zune. easy to carry around.

Terrific value for what it is. Delivers rich full bass as promised. I buy a lot of electronic gear and never stop to write a review. These speakers compliment my lap top on my desk beautifully when I hook them up in my home office. Speaker cones are exposed so don't mess with them to often. Anyway, excellent accessory.

For 50 dollars and shipping, these are a great value, and they have good sound, great for anything with significant bass, I love feeling the bass through my desk. Look nice, but like others I have read, they are bigger than you think from the photo, the dimensions are accurate. As a caution, I wouldn't turn them beyond half the max volume I could put through them since the distortion in the small drivers becomes very noticeable, so I keep the max volume around one third which is still decent sound, and louder than a loud conversation. I wish they had a few more features, like an optical audio-in jack.

For $50 these speakers were definitely worth every penny. Sound & bass are great. Even when the volume is cranked up the sound quality never decreases. I also love the design of the speaker enclosure.

I am not a bass lover. I prefer to the original sound of music most of time. Bass of this speaker is really heavy. Previous review mentioned a software to adjust it. But I wonder, how to adjust it when playing DVD or TV?

Bought these and hooked them up to my new LCD tv for a little extra sound. Just had to get an adapter and they work perfectly. Dont have to mess with volume controls either, it works when I turn the sound up and down on the tv. Also 80.00 LESS than other places!! Great Buy

The built is very well made, looks great, and the built-in subs add a lot. The only (tiny) negatives thing about these speakers is that they are not that loud. I would have expected something a little more powerful from that big a speaker. Great buy anyway.

These are some great speakers. Great for watching movies,gaming, and listening to music. Set them up just right and u will not have any issues. It is weird looking at them though, they remind me of a coffee pot. Thanks again for the quick shipping as always.
