Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:a little expensive than some of the competition.
Pros:One of the best TIM's out there Comment:
Whats there to say this is a great thermal paste that has been proven. Doesn't take much to cover the cpu and they put their instructions on their website. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:none that i noticedabit expensive
Pros:widely used Comment:
Artic silver dropped about 5 degree in the cooling of my CPU. It is an excellent substitute to the stock CPU grease which comes with most CPU's. I suggest applying with a light plastic bag in order for a equal and clean application. Even though it is fairly expensive the smaller tube usually handles about 3 CPU's. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:- A bit pricey
Pros:- Immediate and significant temperature drop- Superior to stock thermal compound Comment:
An excellent product that has been well reviewed. My CPU core temps dropped by over 10 degrees C. I understand that there are other products that arguably perform somewhat better, but AS5 is considered to be a benchmark standard. It is worth trying out, if only to compare its performance to other products on the market. Although the tube is small, I imagine that it will last for many applications. For best performance, ensure that you are correct in the amount and placement of AS5 which is appropriate for your CPU. E.g., Arctic Silver's website has different instructions for dual core vs quad core CPUs. |

Pros:Time-proven thermal pasteCheap when on sale Comment:
Great deal when on sale. Time-proven thermal paste. However, the Arctic Cooling MX-2 seems to be the current favorite, so i got a tube of it also to try later on. |

Cons:Price
Pros:Drops temperature Comment:
This is marketed as the best thermal grease on the market, and it looks to be so. I didn't try any other thermal grease, but my temperature are really low and I don't have a doubt that the thermal grease is doing his job. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:conductive, be cautious
Pros:ease of use Comment:
Great thermal compound. I used this paste on my xeon x3360 and my 2 EVGA ultras using the Zalman VF1000. Brought my vid card temps down 20C in conjunction with the new heatsink. I highly recommend! |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:Cost/tube size for those that need many applications.Shin-Etsu thermal grease works slightly better.
Pros:Drops temps immediately Comment:
Great product, as soon as I booted I checked my temps, they were about 4C lower than the stock thermal paste. In the next few days, they had dropped another 2 degrees so I'm down to idling at just over 40C (dropped down to 38 for a sec) when I used to idle at over 46C. EDIT: Forgot to note, the paste is still in the "breaking-in" stage so expect temps to drop a few more degrees over the next few weeks. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-31-08 08:19 AM |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:- Easy to over-apply if you don't have previous experience.
Pros:- Lowers cpu temps by several degrees vs the stock thermal pad. Comment:
What can I say, it works as advertised provided you cleaned off the previous stuff properly and applied the right amount of this. I don't think I will ever use the original thermal pad or paste that comes with a heatsink, besides, one small tube of AS5 is enough for a good number of applications. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:- Take ~120 hours before solidification
Pros:- Easy to apply- Reliable- Efficient Comment:
I bought this product for my processor as I wanted to OC it a bit. I was really satisfy with the result of the paste, it indeed did make it cool my some degree (which was important). It's really easy to install, you have a lot of paste in this small tube. The only thing I didn't like, it can take ~120 of runtime before having the total performance, can be anoying if you want to do the OC at the beginning and not wait the 120 hours. |

Cons:None
Pros:-Works well-Good for replacing the CPU and GPUs a few times Comment:
This thermal paste helped my cpu and gpu temperatures to drop a bit. It's a little expensive but it seems to be worth it. There was enough for my CPU and GPUS and a few other builds. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:- didnt improve over time as advertized. I installed it and my cpu stayed at 47 in idle for a month without any improvement- Not really clear on how to put the paste on. they should give better instructions. Had to do some research before actually applying it.
Pros:- 3.5g will last for a while Comment:
I used this with my thermal right-102 extreme and it didnt do any good. Still it could be i have a bad processor, or bad airflow, but still the paste did not improve temps in a 2-8 degrees range as they say it does. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:NONE
Pros:qualitywhat more can I say Comment:
This stuff is a billion times better than the typical white bird droppings stuff you get from typical stores. Why settle for stuff that just meets the standards for thermal product when you can get the stuff that EXCEEDS those same standards. It's really not that much more $, maybe the price of a coffee or two difference.Love this stuff. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:Maybe a bit too small.
Pros:By far the best ThermalPaste beside the creamique version, will dramatically reduce heat. Comment:
This is VERY small, but contain a lot! You'll have enough for a long time! Believe me. This is obviously the best thermal paste beside the ceramic version. It'll will really reduce heat. It's also very cheap, relly a great buy. |

Cons:none
Pros:improvement over stock Comment:
Well, first time I actually use a non-stock Thermal paste, have to admit I am impressed with the difference with "the other" stuff. My friend kept the thermal paste that came with the CPU and my CPU runs a good 4 celsius lower then his which is a good improvement for the small price. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:Not as good as othersCosts a bit more than comparable products
Pros:Easy to applyVery little used per application Comment:
When I first received the syringe, I thought it was extremely tiny and there's no way that it could last. After I tried it though, I was amazed. Just a small drop was able to cover my entire CPU and GPU. Not only does that small drop cover a large surface area, the paste also spreads incredibly well. I've tried some much more fluid pastes and they've been tough to work with but AS5 (like others have mentioned in their reviews) spreads like butter. It's just great.Performance-wise, it's not the greatest. Arctic Cooling's MX-2 would probably be a better choice. Unless you're really picky though about 1-2 degrees, it probably won't make too much difference which paste you use. AS5 is great and I might buy again if it's cheap but there are better products out there that will perform just as well while not costing as much. |

Arctic Silver 5 HIGH-DENSITY Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound 3.5 Gram
Cons:not as good as some others out there
Pros:price, performance Comment:
Not really much to say. I would personally get the MX-1 or 2 now over this after seeing a lot of results. But for the price you cant go wrong with this stuff. It does its job well |
Nothing more really needs to be said about this stuff I just want the points. It has just become a regular part of my PC builds. Scrape and clean off the factory stuff and put this stuff on.
