AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU What more needs to be said. A quad processor for a fraction of the cost of an Intel quad.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU After reviewing the benchmark on a few websites, I debated the apparent extra performance of the i7 920 which is 100 more than this processor, for me, the price outweighed the performance. It doesn't just end there with buying intel, the motherboard's are also expensive for a good one. Whereas AMD, you buy this chip, and everything works to what you expect. I use 3d software, adobe products, games, music, sometimes all of these things open all at the same time JUST to see if it can handle it. With ease. You can almost forget you have something open. Excellent product. Ok yes, I suppose the fan is alittle louder than my previous one. Intel is supposedly faster, but will you really notice the difference with it's improvement over this CPU? I doubt anyone demands as much cpu power on my applications as on theirs. If you are a gamer, all my games are 60fps with a radeon 5770. My 3d applications are pigs on the cpu. It holds up well!

ASUS M4A78T-E Motherboard This motherboard is probably one of the most reasonable AM3's out there. It provides all the features you need at an affordable price. As long as you don't need 3-way Crossfire, this is an excellent choice for the step up to AM3.

Big brother is censoring me
Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU Sorry I cannot say what I connected this chip to so as to get a good rating. Big brother won't let me mention other products that make this processor better. Kinda makes these reviews a bit worthless, but so be it. Oddly enough they sell what I was going to mention...

I want to also put in a good word for your excellent website as it is very informative and provides great feedback from customers. The memory keeps getting better, faster, and cheaper compared to what it orginialy cost when I first started playing around with computers. Larry Another satisfied customer

A-frickin-mazing!
Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU This processor with all its cores and sheer processing power, next to my HD 4850 gives me ultimate gaming power. With those specs I could run Crisis with 43.23 FPS. It is an amazing processor, although can get a bit hot. Without opening my case and three fans directing air flow it was getting in the high fifties, which is bad since its safe operating temp is 62 or so degrees. I fixed the problem though so I am happy for now. Definitely worth the buy people!

Faster on Video Conversion
Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU I notice a marked improvement when processing I notice a marked improvement when processing avi and DVD files into mov (for my iTouch). All 4 cores scream in the process and the temperature of the cores goes up by 10 degrees or more. Still well within the maximum specs and never goes over 54 degrees (idling at around 32 degrees)

Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU I've always like AMD better than Intel since my first pc build back in 2002 with an Athlon CPU. I've had not had any problems with this CPU. I've tried to overclock to 4Ghz, but it won't be stable or pass Prime95. I'm keeping it steady at 3.6Ghz currently with no problems. Anything higher than 3.6Ghz will cause blue screens and crashes.

Great Processor! Why pay more for Intel?
Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU Not really sure how Intel is still around, while trying to charge us a arm and a leg for processors. AMD has allow families to budget in their processors. For this I am greatful. Guys, this processor rocks. Overclocking is a snip. From 34001.9Mhz to 3999.9 no prob. Have not pushed the cores to a 20% increase, but I'm sure they'll dance when given the chance! A gamers MUST!

Comment:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core CPU I haven't tried to overclock yet... but not much need to as it's 3.40Ghz x 4 right out of the box. I bought a 3rd party heatsink and fan, but the one supplied is good enough if your not planning to overclock - it is solid copper with heat pipes.
