Rapid, silent and painless set up None Used this for a DVR box in a Tv editing studio. It runs perfectly silent (no fans) and is reasonably fast. I had no troubles but I utilized the memory advised by the other reviewer. XP and Snapstream had no issues at all. Note: This board does not have the wireless as pictured on Newegg. I didn't require or want it but it is somethin to be aware of.

Place this into a Travla C299 situation with 2 sticks of KVR800D3S8S6ǘG and a 500 GB notebook drive. Booted just fine. Plugged in a DVD drive with the lid off the situation and loaded Win 7 and the latest Fedora distro. Operates excellent. Speed is just fine. Will upgrade to faster memory off the Asus list when I am in a position to. Case has a fan but it is incredibly quiet. Main use is to feed music to a 40W tube amp. None really. The board is about 1ǘ mm deeper than the Travla case but it just suggests mounting the IO shield on the outside of the situation.

Just received this board tonight. It does NOT have WiFi. The WiFi surface mount pads and mini-PCI-E pads are left unpopulated. Perhaps they are reserving this for a forthcoming Deluxe version ??? I was not interested in the WiFi, but I did want to use the mini-PCI-E slot for a SS Flash Drive. I have a PICO energy supply on order. My plans for these board are for a CarPuter and a HTPC, both to be passively cooled and devoid of moving components (SSDs, PICO power Supplies). Will report far more as soon as I have built it out and tested its Audio Outs and HDMI outs. I also have a Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card that I will be testing with it. No cons but, further facts to follow immediately after develop out and testing.

Outstanding when it was operating RMA'd it to ASUS, received it back nowadays, and it nonetheless has the exact identical issue. The board hangs at the ASUS splash screen (press DEL to enter BIOS screen). I have checked all the drives on my other systems and they perform fine. I also tried a identified great power supply.Given that the board worked for about 7 months, I'm assuming that the memory modules (from the qualified memory vendors list) are also OK. (I'm just not willing to spend an additional โ on a "test" memory module to prove that they are fantastic.)This leaves nothing else but the board itself as the dilemma. If the board had not failed so soon, or if the ASUS service wasn't so poor, this board could have been worth the 赔 that I paid for it. Even so, I now have a 赔 boat anchor. I have purchased ASUS motherboards in the past, but following this expertise, I am reconsidering whether to use ASUS as a vendor in the future.

Functions well with Mythbuntu 9.ten (Nvidia 195 drivers from Nvidias internet site). Wtih VDPAU enabled in Mythtv HD 񡺸i) content plays fine from the backend. I had purchased this as element of the Newegg combo 548994. I have this set up as a dual boot with WinXP and there had been no matters with XP. Over all its a fantastic little system. None with the motherboard. I can't comment on the combo page so I'll mention here that the only concern I had with the combo was the case fan was slightly noisy but this was very easily quieted with a fan speed controller.

* Low power usage idle and below load* Nice picture excellent - 720p video is a breeze* processor reasonably fast for day to day activities * only two SATA risers (limitations of the NM10 chipset though), on the other hand a PCI express slot is on board to install a PCI to SATA card if essential.* no onboard wifi, would have been a good feature, specially at this value point In contrast to other users I cannot confirm the statement that this board is picky with memory. The significant element is that the CAS latency is >ɩ and nearly just about every memory stick will operate. I can confirm that this one particular (Mushkin) does function flawlessly and it is 2GB per stick. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226019.

+ Well Created Heatsink+ Nicely Designed Board (layout)+ Compact Size (Feels smaller then my Zotac Board) - Memory Compatibility I just got mine lately and like a lot of ahead of me I had an Problem with the memory. There is ONLY 1 memory (that I know of) that will function till you update the bios so my suggestion is don't even bother purchasing something else correct away. The memory that you require is:--------------------------------------------------Kingston 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM Unbuffered DDR3 800 Technique Particular Memory Model KVR800D3S8S6ǘG--------------------------------------------------As soon as you have it then you need to be able to update the bios and then the rest of the memory supported on the asus web page *MIGHT* perform. I will test to confirm that and post it right here as soon as my memory (the one particular above) arrives.Final but not least! This memory problem must be resolved when the deluxe edition comes out as I assume that they will update the bios to a much more recent version. Any Versions bought at the moment will most most likely have the old bios with only a single supported (kingston) memory chip.

Good Graphics and superior connection options. Form aspect particularly important. Non functional PCI-e slot. Appears prevalent among the numerous low ratings of this board. This has been a reported problem for months and Asus has but to give a fix. Excellent if you don't require the PCI-e slot. DO NOT Consider if you need a PCI-e card.

Stunning heat sink. PCI-E slot does not operate at all. Tried to install an AverTVHD Duet 188 card into it, and it wouldn't be recognized while it runs fine in my workplace PC. If you google for "ASUSTeK Computer system Inc.-Forum- PCIe x1 tunercard" you will find that I am not alone; it appears that Revision 1.03G has a non-functioning PCI-E slot. Too poor but PCI-E slots are true precious when it comes to mini-ITX boards. This 1 will be RMA'd back to Newegg.

Windows7, Media Player Classic - Property Cinema - mkv 1080p was smooth. With subtitles, at times not smooth. With SSD 64Gb, Win7 boot rapidly, Office 2007 and Crome respond well. memory incompatibility. I've tried the KVR1333D3S9ǘG, this one was on the QVL of Asus, nopost. It was not the similar memory chip on the QVL. Then I purchased the KVR800D3S8S6ǘG, it' perform fine. In a Mini-box m350 - picopsu, fanless, space temperature 22C, right after 1 hour of MPC 1080p mkv, speedfan give me CPU 60C and GPU 82C. The box was attach behind the monitor, the radiator fines in vertical position. When the space temperature will be 30C, maybe I will require a fan.

Make sure you read the critiques so you know the troubles. Very good driver support from ASUS. Passive cooling functions good, 45 idleና under load. Handles 1080p with no troubles. Not a massive deal if you read these critiques. Kingston KVR1066D3S7ǗG x2 memory (from the QVL) functions excellent. Make confident you get memory from the QVL on the ASUS web page. DVI output is DVI-D, there is no analog component, so you can't convert to VGA with just a plug. I had some difficulty booting from a USB flash drive. I changed the boot order and it still wouldn't function. Using the boot menu (F8) got it to work.

Nice form factor. ASUS improved memory compatibility in the newst BIOS release. Newegg and the ASUS site say this board supports PCIe x4. The manual though says the following: ŕx PCIe x4 slot (ʁx, with latch)"I really feel thoroughy defrauded. I bought this board specifically for the PCIe x4 slot - TO RUN AT x4 SPEED AS ADVERTISED!I'm contemplating returning this board for such blatant fraud... If only there was some thing comparable to replace it with. What happened to you ASUS? You utilised to make a top quality product, now it's lies and merda taurorum?

NO FANS!! Heatsink only..usb3...ddr3..gigbyte LAN....ION graphics....AHCI (for ssd's).....speed tested with vertex two reached full speeds.... the dvi port is an DVI-D and those will not perform properly with any adaptor to modify to vga output...best selection is use hdmi or a usb to vga...fanless does demand some air movement about it...it can get hotDUAL channel ddr3 is not an selection....it runs at single channel simply because of atom processer...(atleast that is what I have read) good to see the board allow ssd to reach max speed for read and write....so far this is the greatest selection for the cash....

Dual-core hyper-threaded Ɣ logical cores) 64-bit Atom with Ion graphics makes for a decent media center machine. Requirements more SATA ports. A tad on the sluggish side, but even a good Atom is still an Atom. That's the price for low power usage. A different success story using this Mushkin RAM: N82E16820226019. Men and women say the board is finicky about its RAM, but that worked.

USB three. supportParticularly modestCompletely fanless512 MB integrated video memoryHandles 1080pDual core + hyper-threading Only 2 SATA portsOnly 1 USB header Does what it was designed to do extremely nicely.I bought this to use as an HTPC with a Ceton Infini4 Tv tuner. It's clocked a little below the suggested technique specs for the card (recommended 2.0gHz, D525 clocks in at 1.8gHz, but is a dual core). Running with a 1TB HD, DVD, and 2GB ram. Handles Wnidows 7 Media Center at 1080p just fine. I haven't had any problems watching HD video and recording multiple shows at the same time (the Infini4 card supports 4 streams). It does lag a little when running normal application in Windows, but it does the job it was bought for beautifully. The only sound I can hear from the PC is the energy supply case, and it is just barely a whisper. The SATA limitation makes a lot more sense when you recognize the Deluxe version of this board was created to run off a 90 Watt DC connection, rather of an ATX energy supply. You can see the outline if where the molex connector would be on the board (and in the manual).

This board fits perfectly in my NES-PC. And its running excellent. The lack of fan is a major plus, and it has a lot of power to run Windows 7 and all of my emulators. It also does on the web streaming fairly effectively. The HDMI out and nvida drivers for Television useage is a significant improvement from earlier Atom micro-itx boards. None so far Based on one more review I took a chance on 4gb Muskin memory and it appears to be working perfectly. It's booted appropriate up and has been running with out any difficulties. The memory is cheaper then the Kingston memory most others seem to be making use of. So that's a plus...and it also has a ฟ rebate on it appropriate now. 4gb Muskin memory newegg id is... Item #: N82E16820226019

Cons: Wish it had triple channel slots (3 DDR3 slots) and WIFI ... but the WIFI is a "deluxe" version ... no thanks

Pros: Internal everything. CPU/GPU/SATA/eSATA/USB3 ... love it. Lots of USB ports and very very quiet.
Comment:
I use it for my HTPC at home and I love it so far. Too bad the "quiet" factor doesn't change much since HTPC PSU's are generally loud and obnoxious... but still this was a great buy at 190$ for a mobo/CPU/GPU all in one.

Cons: Only 2 SATA PortsRAM Compatibility is poor until BIOS update . I purchased Ram from the QVL because I knew this board was picky about Ram. Unfortunately the Ram I purchased was only added to the QVL after a Bios update  was released, but the board that I received had the old Bios version. After a Bios update  the issue was solved but finding a stick of Ram to work with it so I could update  the Bios was a huge pain.

Pros: HDMI, Integrated ION2, Intel D525 Processor all in one. USB 3.0System is all passive cooled stays around 60 degrees Celsius.Runs 1080p smoothly on Windows and Ubuntu using XMBC.
Comment:
Overall a great buy, wish it had a few more SATA ports. The new models should ship with the updated BIOS which is night and day for memory compatibility compared with its original BIOS. It has almost everything you need for an HTCP. I am very happy with this board and would defiantly purchase it again.
