I wasn't too fond of only 2 gig, specially when it isn't 800mhz, but this will get the job done. My music software has the potential to do much more than this memory allows it (acid 7.0 and a lot of plug ins) but it hands everything much better than the old 'puter. I'm keeping it until I upgrade to 800mhz, or maybe build another computer and go with the ddr3. I hear wonders. Pretty soon we'll have ddr5 though, and no one will know what to do anymore to go faster lol.

Apex PC-375 Black Mid-Tower Case I got the case as part of a bare bones package from CUSA. The case is nice but the power supply was not good. It appeared to run but the bios on the mb showed the 5V supply to be running at 3.3v to 3.5V. Replaced the supply and alls well.

ASUS P5KPL-AM SE Motherboard This is an inexpensive board. Given that, it set up very easily and has been stable so far. Components are of good quality. Feature count is low. No floppy controller and only 2 SATA ports, but hey, this is microATX (lots of USB ports). Surprise, you don't need to mess around with installing SATA drivers -- they're in the BIOS, gosh what'll they think next next (and maybe they could think of the next thing sooner). After I figured out that it wouldn't boot because a memory stick was dead, I had no problems with the board. I'm very happy with this board

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750GB HD I bought a pair of drives to use in RAID 1 to mirror data. I was working on a PhD dissertation and didn't want to risk a freak failure. I thank my lucky stars I did that. The first failed in about 2 months, and the second died after 4. I also have (had) an external Seagate drive... it lasted 9 months before dying. I wouldn't wish this brand on my worst enemy, and if you have one, please, please have an effective backup scheme in place.
