Works GREAT...and cheap too!
Comment:
Purchased this unit when my 802.11g Broadcom chip died in my HP laptop. Paid about $10 after some rebate that was currently going on. The instructions said install drivers first...which I did. Plugged into the Usb, was identified and installation was completed. Searched for available wireless and found not only mine but three of my neighbors. Have used it all over the house (4000sqft) with no range issues of slowdowns. Always connected to my router at 54mB. Running on Win XpPro. Giving the quality 4 stars only because it looks cheaply built but that is it! Best Regards, DrZ

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons:It looks awkward on the cradle, the software included is wonky; it crashes when I try to use it, but still connects without any input; Plasticy and light.

Pros:The speed is great! It can connect in an instant; as fast as a direct connection! Worked on my desktop.
Comment:
This was a great deal at 20$ when I bought it, but you might want to look for a cheaper, internal adapter instead to save a USB port. Great reception and it connects to my network fast. You might want to switch to the windows wireless software instead of the included software though. Conclusion: Buy it on sale, get another if it's not. Linksys Engineers recommend this product
Comment:
I have absolutely no idea what people who negatively review this product are doing (or not doing). I have a Linksys wireless router that I purchased about 5 years ago. It started getting temperamental so I decided to update the software about a month ago. The download and flash instructions on the Linksys site were inadequate and I ended up letting a Linksys engineer in India update my firmware. After the update, I found that 3 of my 4 Linksys PD adapters would no longer see the router. The engineer in India suggested this Belkin USB adapter. I tried one, and it installed correctly the first time and worked flawlessly. Since then I have put these adapters on all the computers in my network (6). I have 2 Vista 32-bit, 2 Vista 64-bit and 1 each of XP-Pro 32- and 64-bit computers. This adapter works flawlessly in each OS. So, I have no idea what people who say that this adapter is incompatible with their OS.

I am very happy with the device. It was one of the few that fit my PC which is a slimline system. I works with Vista and works fine in my garage.

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons:Feels a bit cheap

Pros:Great Range, Easy to Setup
Comment:
This a very good wireless adapter, plugged it in and installed in like 2 minutes recognized my wireless network and in less that 5 minutes I had internet. The only thing I can really complain about is that it feels a bit cheaply made but I guess thats maybe how all are because they are small, overall it is a great deal got it for $20.00

Comment:
This Belkin F5D7050 USB Wireless Adapter works great. I might add that I use UBUNTU 8.10 GNU/LINUX and it works without any configuration. Plug-n-Play with Linux has came a long way! If you have problems with it working in windows download Ubuntu 8.10 and it'll work and you'll also be immune to virus.

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons:Weaker signal strength.

Pros:Cheap when on sale.Works perfectly in Linux.
Comment:
This network adapter works very well in Linux - in the latest version of Ubuntu (Hardy Heron 8.04) it's literally plug it in and the available networks can already be selected. I should note, however, that there are different versions of the adapter which use different chipsets, which might not all work as well. One issue is that it takes a little while to connect to my wireless network, and I only get about 65% signal strength. However, it doesn't seem to affect the functioning of the network itself and I seem to be browsing at full speed.Recommended if you can get it on sale.

Comment:
I don't know why some people are having such trouble with this product, unless they don't know how to install something. I have three of these that I am using. One of them is accessing a D-Link router, one accessing a Linksys router and the third is accessing a Belkin router. All are working without any problems and all receive good signals. I need a couple more and am thinking about getting the Belkin. The price is great.

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons: - Gets warm (may not be an issue)

Pros: - Cheap ($25 on sale) - Long cord (4 feet or longer) - Stand included - Portability - Protector for USB connector - Easy set-up - Solid, reliable performance for a G-class wireless product
Comment:
I bought this device on the advice of one of the NCIX staff to replace a malfunctioning abit PCI-E 1x Wireless-G adaptor. This is a solid performer - it works well, downloading things very quickly for 7 days straight, 24 hours per day at 200-300 Kbs (I have owned it for three weeks thus far and wanted to put it through its paces after reading other comments). The long cord and stand allowed me to place it in a location that best facilitated maximum signal and performance. It does get warm, but it appears not to suffer from some of the drawbacks other reviewers have listed. I received version 5000 of the card, and used the respective driver on Belkin's website (and not what came on the set-up CD). Both of those facts may have made a difference.I would buy this again and certainly recommend it to family and friends based on the performance / experience with it.I will update this review if I encounter any difficulties. I like it, there are cheaper models out there, but this one is good and works solidly from 40-50 feet from the router...

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons:Weak Signal, Proprietary software (must use for XP), randomly disconnects, does not reconnect, very little range.

Pros:Cheap. Could serve as a USB port protector against dust. Works really well with Ubuntu.
Comment:
Reviewed this awhile ago (bought it for $24), but I have some updates. This Wi-Fi Adapter still really sucks for Windows, and the signal isn't really good at all (always dropping), but it works REALLY WELL with Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy). If you have Ubuntu and would like a cheap not so amazing USB Wi-Fi Adapter, this is not too bad. Wouldn't recommend it for XP though, and it was really really hard to set up in Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) This review was modfied by poster @ 10-22-07 08:22 AM

Comment:
Bought this because of the price. Had some trouble installing, however once I used the XP installation wizard, it worked fine. Also tried installing on XP Home machine with SP1. That machine would only allow WEP security not WPA like the other machine with XP Pro SP2. Now everything works, signal strength is always excellent and the connection has never dropped. Just don't use the Belkin installer and it should work. Probably better ones out there, maybe USB is not so hot, but for the price and it is still working for me, I'm sticking with it for now.

BELKIN F5D7050 USB 2.0 Wireless G Network Adapter
Cons:Unreliable to keep working. Has trouble with Windows XP 0 Config

Pros:Cheap, not much else applies
Comment:
I have bought two of these for clients. One was place on an old Win 98 beater and has worked fine. The one on an XP machine has been trouble. It seems you must use the Belkin utility to connect, and you cannot use the built in XP wireless config, as it simply won't connect if you are using any kind of encryption (WEP or WPA) which is unacceptable. The Belkin utility takes awhile to connect, and at times it just simply won't.I will pay and charge my clients the extra money for the Dlink USB receiever instead. Not worth the callback headaches.
