BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:the include utility is cumbersome and unnecessary
Pros:good speed and range Comment:
I got it on xmas sale for 35. I might not be the best wireless N adapter, it gets the job done. I get excellent strength from one story above. Transfer speed is above average. Over all, I would recommend it on sale. |

BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:Would be nice if it was sleeker (sticks out of the side of the laptop like a sore thumb)
Pros:Great range, easy setup, reliable, good price with wireless router! Comment:
Overall not to much to complain about. Like stated earlier it would be nice if these adapters were half the size. Always scared of breaking one of these things off when passing by the laptop. I will always buy Belkin for wireless as these seem to have the best quality/price/performance. |

BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:Crappy software and signal strength
Pros:Wireless n. Sort of. Comment:
The Belkin software puts itself in the startup folder for all users. A switch-user attempt will launch a second instance of the belkin software, which will make the wireless inoperable. Resolve this by removing it from the startup of other users.Works (sort of) with a dlink dir-615, although I'm really really close and the signal strength fluctuates like crazy. |

Comment:
I give this Belkin wireless USB adapter a 5 out of 5 just because it was so easy to install.4 simple steps 1.Install cd 2.plug in the adapter when it says to 3.finish installation 4.reboot.That is all there is to it, it picks up your wireless signal from your router automatically. Some people claim to have problems with it. I had none whatsoever and was done installing it in less than 5 minutes.I get 4 out of 5 bars and the router is about 30 feet from my pc in another room.I have had no connection problems either like some of the other reviewers, good solid stable connection 24/7.It also has a blue LED light on it that flashes...kinda goes with the christmas lights. Nice product Belkin. |

Comment:
This is a hit or miss item apparently. The one I got blows. I'm maybe 30 foot from the router and this pos can't maintain a stable connection. ''When'' it works, it works great, until it decides to drop for no reason. Then upon reconnecting to the network I have to enter the security info all over again. I should have stuck with the linksys wmp300n. I put that one in a seperate pc and it still runs flawlessly after much abuse and several moves. |

Comment:
As has been said by others, the software sucks. I just used the CD to install the driver, set it up via Windows networking, and it has been perfect. Great reception in a less than ideal spot. |

BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:- Poor signal through walls
Pros:- Much faster transfer speeds than G- Lengthy cable/stand provides freedom of placing the adapter Comment:
My old wireless-g router significantly capped my transfer speeds. I could never go over 3mbps on my 10mbps shaw xtreme-I line, so i decided to switch to wireless N router and adapter.Switching to this wireless-n adapter paired with my new n-router did indeed improve my transfer speeds, as I can now take full advantage of my 10mbps line with little to no packet loss. However, this little adapter suffers from low signal with my computer located ~35ft and two walls apart from the router. At any time, I would be getting no more than 2 or 3 out of 5 bars on my signal. Even my old pci g adapter had at least 4/5 bars. To put into perspective, my laptop would even be getting full 5-bars on the network when placed right next to my computer. If I was to activate signal-limiting features such as security, etc.. I would begin experience dropping signals. If you plan to purchase a wireless adapter for your desktop that is going to be located a good distance from your router box and parted by walls, I would definitely recommend you to look at something else. BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:None so far
Pros:-external-usb cable is about 4 feet long Comment:
I purchase this adapter to replace an internal 802.11g adapter. Its signal was a bit weak and it had some difficulties to get my new router's signal. The signal was low and my pc is not well located for the router. So I decided to try the 802.11n technology to fix that. It works! I get a 135 Mbps signal with a quality of 4/5. The connection is fast and stable. |

BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Cons:included software driver weak
Pros:Good receptionHigh SpeedNo dropped signals yet Comment:
Had it hooked up and running with Windows utility looking after it. Hooked up at 150Mb/Sec rate and was streaming 25mb Hi-def videos very smoothly from my office computer. Actual speed realized was in the area of 50 to 60 mb/sec from a distance of about 35 feet going through 2 walls. Highly recommended for the price.Been running reliably now for over a week. |

Comment:
I read the negative reviews here and bought anyway to save a buck. I'm not sorry... but man! Multiple issues on my 32-bit Vista box. 1) Clicked the option to run setup.exe directly from autorun.inf - big mistake. The driver install ended up hanging. 2) I successfully completed the install & Belkin utility could not detect my network at all. Windows did. 3) Happy days? No way. Several dropped connections during the first hour or so of use. Check this out: simply unplugging and reconnecting the USB cable wouldn't work - I had to plug the unit into a DIFFERENT USB plug, to re-detect the drivers. 4) The Belkin utility (still doesn't detect my network) gives you settings/options, but (this is almost funny) the ''Save'' button is disabled. But hey! Overall, I saved money. Speed and connectivity are improved. Now if I can just disable the stupid Belkin utility from auto-starting during system boot... |

Comment:
I purchased two of these units and have not had the problems of the other reviewers. The software is the same as the previous used in the Wireless G units. Although I have had no problems with the software, I haven't found it to add anything either. You can save yourself some system resources by just loading the drivers and using the Windows software. Other then that I've found the units to be very nice. I consistently get 270 Mbps speeds on a D-Link Extreme N wireless router, even when on a different floor. For $50, it's a great value when upgrading from Wireless G. |

Comment:
The product works well so far. Very good reception. Belkin software programmer must have been asleep because this software is useless. I finally used Microsoft wireless setup utility and another company's software and got this thing operating. When you open belkin control screen, it shows no network, no place to enter WEP info and will not allow you to make a change to programming. It even says there is no connection. Device working well but buyer beware, not easy to program. |

BELKIN F5D8053 USB 2.0 N Wireless USB Adapter
Comment:
VERY unstable windows drivers - transferring large files will cause Windows to lose connectivity and any attempt to disable/re-enable the adapter or ''repair'' the adapter will cause Windows XP to crash completely. Performance is good when the adapter is working but the instability of the drivers make this product unusable. AVOID. This includes the latest driver from Belkin's website dated June 2007. |

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase given how cheap I got it for. The reception is quite good and the setup was very simple and straight forward. I would recommend it if you could get it for ~$30.
