I have two of these boards now, just received second 1. Initially a single I use for over a month now. For the cash ฮ and ุ it is excellent, stable and issue no cost. I use it with C2D E8500 cpu 4gb ddr2 800mhz ram and nVidia 9600GT graphics card. I do not overclock simply because it is fast anyway and everything runs smooth. The second board also fired up immediately. Wish it had SPDIF-out for the nVidia SPDIF-in so I could output to tv with sound via the DVI-HDMI converter.

Very good top quality, no cost shipping, fired ideal up. Came with the newest BIOS and drivers. Device Manager under Windows XP could not come across a driver for an HD Audio Device. The sound works so not sure what the challenge is. Doesn't stop the board from undertaking it's job, so no biggie. My initially Intel create. Not as well impressed with socket LGA 775. I thought I was gonna snap the board attempting to get the heat sink to set correct.

See prior overview See earlier review - unstable if utilizing sleep/suspend with Windows 7 Adhere to-up. Machine would spontaneously reboot when getting into S3 (sleep) after effectively waking from S3/S4 at an earlier time. So only one successful S3 sleep/wake cycle per boot. I assumed this was a problem with my config and spent hours stripping out elements and fiddling with BIOS settings. Repeatable on bare-bones create with fresh install of Win 7 32-bit. Did some analysis and discovered other individuals acquiring the exact exact same challenge with this board. Can not advise unless you under no circumstances use power management capabilities or are content with S1. Emailed Biostar support - waiting for response.

I'm not a large Biostar fan but at ุ I thought I'd give it a attempt. The board runs incredibly good and has a fair amout of flexability in the bios. I could need to rethink my opinion about Biostar. Bad 4 pin CPU power place. Greatest to connect it before bolting it down.

Extremely straight forward, easy to install, adequate documentation, stable only two DIMM slots, no space among PCI-Ex16 slot and PCI slots, so dual slot video card blocks 1 PCI slot, only 1 PATA connector, Installed windows 7 effortlessly, Intel E5400 quickly clocked to 3.03 Ghz with stock cooling and voltage, did lower memory to 667. Great, inexpensive, stable board. For ุ, outstanding!

Great on board video, even for Intel. Really agreeable to a number of setups and configurations. Looks to be stable for the long term with the solid capacitors. Saved my bacon right after a pals major brother Pc failed. ALL devices and elements were recognized with no a hitch. None seriously to elaborate on. The price tag negates all. My longest operating system is based on a Biostar primary board. With over 6 years of 80% up time not a single problem cropped up. Biostar is definitely the unsung hero of the mother board biz ! ( lengthy-time sys )Intel Cel two.66, Corsair Valu-ram 2 Gb, Maxtor 40 GB, Through O-B video and LAN. My daily mail getter.

I've been making use of this low price board to replace defective MoBo's in my clientele older systems. One more reviewer commented that he had bent pins on his new board; nicely I actually had 1 with the protective CPU Socket cap missing, and Bent Pins! But only 1 so far. I'm not a large fan of Intel's stupid CPU Socket 775 design, andthe mounting retainer for the cooling Fan/Heatsink is just as lame. I assume Intel's engineers are loosing it!I'm Glad That We Have AMD Products To Fall~Back On.

Develop high quality (check specs), sufficient docs, decent fit/finish (nothing misaligned), flexible CPU fan handle, low expense Restricted overclocking possibilities, confusing BIOS, crackling audio w/internal LAN port (possibly result of powerline networking), minimum memory voltage setting in BIOS: 1.950v; could void warranty on some DIMMs Fired up on initial try with stock settings (Intel 2160, Wintec 3AMD2800-2G2K-R memory). Can't set FSB:RAM ratio straight. Had to disable internal LAN port to quiet audio. One particular SATA cable poor out of box - took forever to track down intermittent IO complications!

Everything functions with windows 7 32 bit. Utilized old DDR 2 800 memory from old cpu.Ƒ- 2gig stick) Didn't require to install any drivers and was in a position to update bios making use of a system from biostar in windows. Purchased in on reviews, does not say it has PCI express two.. The board only has PCIe 1.. So, it is outdated. (wish newegg or manufacture would label this items like they do for USB) Was planing a budget gaming laptop or computer. I guess it won't workout because I can not fit a decent graphics card in. >_< Oh properly, i guess learned my lesson. Manufacturer Response:Intel G41 chipset is a mature but working model, and nevertheless performing very nicely in market place due to the fact of pricing. You can nevertheless add a PCI-E 2. video card which can nevertheless operate.

Affordable board great feature set for the funds. Required to replace a computer-chips board that fried. I had usually avoided biostar, because of how low cost they were, but I was pleasently surprised by how effectively this a single performs. No firewire header. The board has a header for a parallell port and an old fashioned serial port, but they did not involve the ports to plugin. A lot more usb headers would be nice.

I ejoy reading the critiques, occasionally it's far better than reading the comics in the newspaper. I've been in the enterprise due to the fact the early 90s and I can't recall the final time or ever remembering getting srews with a mb, or the board didn't have this or didn't that. It's called read the specs, do your homework fist before you give a bad rating.

Pound for pound, 1 of the ideal boards you can get for your price range develop. Ports are layed out nicely. Space is generous for a micro atx.Incredibly great BIOS menu. So this is actually weird. I Purchased this board since it clearly says it can have a max of 8gb of ram. I verify out the manual, and it says it only supports 4gb of ram.I call newegg asking what's going on and a refund, result in I shouldn't have to pay a restock fee on a misprint. They tell me to call Biostar and confirm. I call Biostar, and their explanation is "No, it supports the full 8gb and four gb per memory slot. We printed the manual ahead of we tested the board capabilities."I don't start to say I comprehend the production of a motherboard, but wouldn't you test 1st then write the manual? - One particular egg off for wasting my time.Minor note, the audio input for the front port is on the close to side of the PCIe port, not the far. If you put a graphics card in, you have to stretch the cable more than the card to plug it in. Not a enormous deal, but moving it an inch to the left on the far side of the card would have been additional aesthetically pleasing. Shame I only had a complete tower situation obtainable for a micro atx mobo.

I upgraded the board on an ACER Pc, M1640. From reviews that I'd read, that model has a history of faulty boards. This biostar operates well with Windows 7. It's been two weeks, and it's nonetheless operating.Apart from reinstalling Windows 7, the pc booted suitable up without having possessing to make any alterations to BIOS. A few problems I've run into. 1st) The fan is Incredibly loud now, it ran quietly before. There's no potentiometer so I can't lower the speed. I don't recognize why they made the RPM's greater on this board. I will most most likely have to invest much more income to add 1. 2nd) The technique refused to boot Win 7 until I reinstalled it. 3rd) The board is twoǙ the size of original. The front panel Energy/LED connector will not reach the right connector on the board. Stupid. I'm going to have to strip & extend the wires. Why not present the proper connector to use for re pinning? four) Instructions useless. Only thing beneficial was the diagram of the LED/POWER connector on the board. Employed this for re pinning the connector. As a 1st time MB replacement, I discovered it quite odd that they don't offer any thermal paste or directions on moving the heat sink and fan over to the new board. I guess some if not all of my complaints are normal, speaking to a couple of common Computer assemblers. With no a person that knew precisely what to anticipate, I found it far more frustrating than expected.

Cheap, fantastic chipset, rudimentary overclock capability Can't complain at ths value point. This board created for a good Win7 construct for my sister. Certain, it only has two RAM slots, and confident, it's slightly slower than the Intel DG45ID syste I use in my living room, but it was a considerably, considerably much less pricey machine.

Not pleased with rebate method. Have not install board however. Rebate approach took over 1ǘ hour to complete, consumer needs to fill out hardcopy, then submit similar information on line, then have you copy all these numbers on back on envelope. Never seen such difficult procedure.

Fantastic Overclocking AbilityGreat AttributesReliableExcellent Bios settings Should disable Multi core for old Operating Systems.Only 2 Ram slots, max is 1066(OC)No Ram strap(ram speed grows with CPU FSB)PCI Express 1.1(same bandwidth, diverse attributes) I did not acquire this form newegg, but i can tell you it is worth the 60-70$ for it and shipping. I paid only 20$ for it which was a steal, and i presently have 2x2gb Corsair XMS2 pc2-6400 C5 ram in it. I also have my e5200 overclocked to three.8ghz, which is a good overclock on a inexpensive board. my old asus g31 only oc'd it to 3.1ghz. New bios adds support for ddr2 4200. This Motherboard is good for any person who wants an amazing deal, or wants a inexpensive, reliable and wonderful performing motherboard.

Good board, with some sweet characteristics. Optimum for newer OS's says in specs that it supports 1066 (OC) for ddr2 ram, I purchased 2 sticks of 1066 ddr2 ram bios has NO choice to make ram run at 1066 - MAX IS 800! Possibly with 3rd party software, but now w/bios. and to be honest I feels it's borderline false advertising. if it says 1066 (OC) then it must be readily available

I know the mem and cpu go farther. Completly stable at 355mhz FSB. Wont post at 356mhz FSB. Board limit? Nonetheless a incredibly excellent acquire! :-)

Booted up the very first time and operating powerful due to the fact. It also works wonderful with XP. A fantastic replacement mobo for Dell and Gateway desktops. And did I say inexpensive. You can choose up this puppy for much less than โ! I had a spare Intel E4300 775 cpu and some spare parts gathering dust and I utilized this mobo to create a good technique for much less than 贄. It's absolutely not for gaming and editing video, but good for browsing the internet and using the MS Workplace Suite. I wish DDR2 memory was not so high priced. Most businesses have stopped creating DD2 to make DD3 RAM and this has kept DD2 prices high. Would advocate this board for creating affordable workplace desktops. Solid and dependable and easy to set up.
