BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:Non Adjustable Stand, Limited Monitor Tilt, Non Adjustable Dynamic Setting (video games WHITES were extremely bright)

Pros:Price, Screen size, Full HD 1080P, 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast, 2x HDMI inputs
Comment:
I order this monitor on Dec.31, 09 and received it fairly quick for a Canada to US order. During the time of purchase the total shipped including 1yr dead pixel warranty was $250, which to me was an amazing price. I had the Benq E2400HD, which was also a really fantastic monitor, but missed the extra HDMI input. This monitors main purpose is video games and movies/shows second. I have both my PS3 and X360 hooked up via HDMI and had no issues with bad connections/loss of signal. The backlight bleeding is very minimum at more present at the top. Colors look great with solid blacks, but with Dynamic settings ON, RGB 0-255 and Picture Mode set to GAME, whites can be extremely bright at times. MOVIE mode is dim and looks limited in color. PHOTO mode is the setting I have used because it offers great colors with the right contrast and brightness. I had no issues so far with dead pixels, but did have 10-12 stuck when I ran a pixel check. Easy fix when cleaning the monitor with a micro-fiber cloth and LCD screen cleaner. 99% of monitor speakers are junk and have no bearing here because I use Sony HTSS360 5.1 surround sound system that both systems are connected to via Fiber Optic Toslink cables and work perfectly. I'm glad they made the monitor more stylish, but it would have great to add an adjustable stand. If you looking for a monitor to watch and play in Full HD 1080P and want to connect two HDMI sources then you will not go wrong with a nicely affordable Benq E2420HD.

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:The vertical viewing angle is terrible. "Dynamic contrast" features are useless. Only comes with a VGA cable.

Pros:No ghosting or lag, no dead pixels. Good brightness and contrast. Auto-adjust feature is handy for analog input. Multiple HDMI and USB ports are great. Buttons make it easy to change between display modes and inputs. Included headphone stand is a nice plus.
Comment:
For watching videos or gaming, this is a passable monitor given the price and size. There's no noticeable ghosting and the display is very bright with good contrast. However, if you are doing photo editing or are concerned with accurate color reproduction, look elsewhere. The vertical viewing angle is poor: unless you are viewing at just the right angle, there is noticeable distortion of brightness and gamma at the edges of the screen. Even just leaning back in your chair can produce a noticeable effect. Maybe it's just my unit, but it is very annoying. Also, don't be fooled by the "dynamic contrast" numbers. There are 3 preset dynamic contrast modes, but they just make the picture look terrible. I don't know why anyone would use them.Overall, if it wasn't for the problem with the viewing angle, this would be a decent monitor. So unless you don't mind sitting still and only viewing the monitor straight-on, I'd look for something better.

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:-VGA cable was already attached to the monitor-Speakers were DOA

Pros:-Big...very big-Sharp picture-Little Tweaking required (image wise)-Easy setup-USB ports are handy-No annoying lights-1080P-Fast response time-No dead pixels
Comment:
I bought this screen a few days ago for $199. I'm in love with it; its gorgeous, crystal clear. I give this 4/5 stars because mine came with the VGA cable plugged into the back, also my audio in port was dead on arrival. Being monitor speakers I didn't expect much however, I wanted something out of them, all I got was crackling noises and the occasional 10 seconds of music. The attached VGA cable and the dead speakers leads me to believe that mine was an RMA'd model, however the screen is fine and I use this with a 19" TV that is providing my sound for now.All in all I'm very happy with my purchase, shipping was fast and the box was in good condition. I expected it to be fully functional but its not a big deal. I would highly recommend this screen to anyone, and if I were in the market for another screen I would certainly buy this again.

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:Tricky to setup if you are new to this stuff.

Pros:Crystal clear picture. Looks great at 1920x1080p. 24 in size is great.
Comment:
Well there really is no downfalls to this monitor as far as I can tell yet. I had a 27" lcd tv hooked up to my PC but when I saw my sons 23" monitor, the picture was so much better that I decided to, downgrade if you want to call it that from a 27" to a 24". To tell you the truth I don't even notice the difference in size actually as I was so amazed at the difference in picture quality. I got lucky I guess and no dead or stuck pixels. Was well worth the sale price of 214.00 i paid with 6.00 shipping. This is a great monitor for gaming and surfing the internet. I have my PC and Xbox 360 hooked up to it and all I can say is Wow. If you are humming and awing over which monitor to buy, like I did for over 1 week, then this is the one for you.

Cons:None that I have noticed, would be nice to have a more adjustable base

Pros:Crystal clear, Huge viewable area, Nice design, Colors are perfect, bright and clear, Very very easy to setup
Comment:
I recently purchased this monitor and for the price it is stellar. I have never been so impressed with a monitor for the bang for the buck. Very easy to setup, all just plug and play. I am using a dvi to hdmi cable I purchased on ncix and the image is gorgeous, colors are true. All just plug and play no setups to be run or anything, no image adjusting required. 1080p looks so stellar compared to my old 1080p monitor. A++

Just as good as I expected. Nice upgrade from an older 22in monitor. No dead pixels. Tons of OSD controls and a bit of a challenge to adjust to your liking but after 5-10 min of frustrating button clicking everything looks awesome. 1920x1080 mode looks pristine. Great buy!

Comment:
Great monitor with good color and features. Got this monitor for $220 and have it hooked up to xbox 360. Connection is super easy, no need for xbox 360 HDMI cable with audio adapter. Just use a regular HDMI cable and use line-out on the monitor to route the audio to pc sound card or line-in on pc speakers. (3.5mm jack audio cable is included)

Pros:Excellent price, great response time, lots of ports, fantastic value
Comment:
I traded my Samsung SyncMaster F2380 in for this monitor because I was unsatisfied with the F2380's ghosting and lag (it was, however, the best monitor I've seen for displaying static images and text). I'm surprised. If BenQ can keep it up, they can go all the way to the top.

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:Lack of height adjustment Speakers

Pros:2 x HDMIUSB portsLooks great on desktop.
Comment:
Great monitor. Works awesome in 1080p mode with video playback from PC/cameras. To make this monitor really good would have been a height adjustment. The 2 x HDMI connections are very handy. I can have a spare cable ready for when I playback video from my HDMI capable video cameras. The side mounted USB ports are very handy for quickly connecting USB devices. The speakers on this are a waste of time. Very dissappointed. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-29-09 07:09 AM

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:- Blacks are not as 'black' as I had hoped, but it's really a minor gripe. For this price you can't expect perfection, although for a TN it comes close so far, plus I haven't messed with the custom picture controls yet

Pros:- Great colors for a TN- Very bright w/ crisp text- Tons of I/O (dual-HDMI too)- XBox360 looks siiiiick on it :)- I actually use the headphone jack and my wife loves that feature most of all- Great price
Comment:
I was on the fence about buying a new monitor for a long time. 9 months in fact...while using an older Gateway 16:10 LCD that had six 1050-pixel lines of deadness. My problem was I couldn't decide whether I wanted to get a 32" 1080p Samsung LCD TV and use that as my PC monitor, or just grab a nice 24" LCD monitor. Trouble was the wide gamut of perception on this site. Some people LOVE the TNs and some people wanna strangle you if you ever mention them. Fair enough, and I agree with both camps depending on the use it'll get. In my case I do the average daily internet rounds, I'm a musician so I do a lot of recording into my comp then mix it all down, etc, and I like to game (but having the 360 in the living room pissed the wife off). I was thinking of that Acer oLED thing and a couple Samsungs but to be totally honest with you this BenQ just rules. Cheaper than all of the others I had looked at, and I was drooling at it while I unboxed it. It's that nice. Very easy to setup and in fact I didn't use the CD at all since Windows 7 installed it without a problem and my ATI CC likes it just fine. Gotta love the dual-HDMI I/O, but it also has DVI, DVI-D, VGA, and 4 USB plus a mini-headphone jack. I'm probably going on and on about the same features here since I was up until 3am playing 360 on this monitor and haven't had my morning coffee yet, but it's just a seriously nice TN panel for anybody who isn't a graphic artist and doesn't need 100% true-color matching. Just buy it and enjoy. 5-stars given in the TN panel category. 'nuff said.

BenQ E2420HD Glossy Black 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers
Cons:-Cannot be swivel-Not height adjustable-Built in speakers are not the best in terms of quality (Do not really care, I use a 5.1 srround system anyways.)-I found one dead pixel (stuck pixel) in one of the two monitors I bought, but I follow a tip from NCIX's Tech Tip, pressing firmly over the stuck pixel for a minute and it DID actually disappear. I confirm it works as I run a dead pixel scan before and after the fix.

Pros:-Vibrant colors-Sturdy stand-Built in USB hubs-Lots of connection ports
Comment:
This monitor have a lot of connection ports (VGA,DVI,2XHDMI) which is perfect for me as I can connect my two computers and Xbox 360 to the monitor. I bought two of these monitors so that I can use a dual monitor setup with my computers. These monitors are great for movies, games and multi-tasking as it have a lot of screen real estate. The 1920X1080 resolution is perfect for HD movies and shows.

Cons:No height adjustment in stands

Pros:Great Size, Clear Picture
Comment:
Up until now my home PC had two 19" CRT monitors. One had a slightly different colour than the other one. I've been waiting for one to die so I could get two LCDs. Two weeks ago, one of them started to turn off. After much research and price comparisons I thought that the E2420HD was the best bang for the buck. The monitors arrived tonight and after a bit of lifting getting the old monitors out of the way I'm now staring at two 24" screens. I was afraid I wasn't going to like the widescreen (given I was used to 4:3 CRTs at 1600x1200) but so far I'm pleased (plus I now have significantly more desk room). To bad the mail in rebate is limited to one per household. The USB hubs are great and I've set the speakers as the center channel on my PC (not sure how that is going to work). I did get the dead pixel warranty but I haven't seen one yet.Overall, I'd highly recommend them. I'd also highly recommend NCIX.
