CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Comment:
Please note: actual write speeds are consistently around 7MB/s, which is not that fast. This is a known issue that Corsair does not seem to be willing to fix -- based on their support forums, the usual solution is to replace the unit with another that has the same performance. Also, ''encryption'' feature is a link to OPEN SOURCE software TrueCrypt. Haven't tried it yet, but I'll bet the software works on any USB flash drive.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:low writing speed, cap easily falls apart from drive

Pros:Stable performance, easy to use, encryption available
Comment:
The rubber housing makes it feel "undestroyable". However, it feels sticky when hot. The cap is always falling apart from the body. Reading speed is ok, writing speed is so so.

For the guy who said this is the ''most poorly constructed on the market'', you have no idea what your talking about. I have had this for over 1 year with no problems at all. I even left it in my pants once and my wife washed it. when i found out it had been in the washer i thought to myself that i lost everything. but I was wrong, the rubber cover stopped all the water from damaging it and 7 months later it still works like a charm.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:Average speed

Pros:Size, case and light color
Comment:
Nice drive! 4 tests over 5gb so far. The drive transfers about 7-8mb/s and reads at 30+mb/s. So not the fastest but I am happy with it. This drive should be able to take many drops with the cap on which I will eventually loose because there is no way to attach it to the drive when its in use.The active light is blue which is nice too.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Comment:
The ''ruggedness'' of this device is an illusion. These rubberized Corsair drives are possibly the worst designed and most poorly constructed on the market. The PCB (circuit board) is ''protected'' only by the rubber casing. The connector end is very flimsy, where it should be rigid. You can hear the circuit board creaking when applying even the smallest amount of pressure to grasp the device and remove it from a USB port. I have had two of these completely fail in 30 days. I am extremely disappointed by such shoddy construction of a product with the Corsair name on it.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:connector cover is easy to loose

Pros:Size, rubber coating, super durable
Comment:
Got this from NCIX today to replace the same but 4Gb version which I have used for year and and a half. 4Gb became quite a limitation in many cases, so I wanted bigger stick for awhile... :)I like this product as it proved to survive in really HARSH use for a while. I lost my connector cover pretty quick and while old stick was on my key chain for a long time, nothing have happed to it. It worked flawlessly all the time.I do not see 16G is any way faster then 4Gb version, but 3x of capacity will be big relief. Same story that one big file is loaded faster then many little ones. Can't wait for even bigger stuff in afew years. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-04-08 12:56 PM

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:- None, aside from the rubber cap comes off a little too easily, but very minor issue)

Pros:- Large size- Fair price- Good speed- Included truecrypt software
Comment:
As far as memory keys go, this is as good as most others I've had with regards to speed. But for $115 (on sale), it was a great price for 16GB of storage. The included Truecrypt encryption software is a nice little feature as well.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Comment:
This is a terrific product-- solid, rugged and reliable, and I *love* not having to worry about filling the thing up. It's got room for all my data plus music. And the ten-year warranty is really impressive. Some people have commented that the sticker price can seem a little hefty, but when you start figuring dollars per gigabyte of storage, this drive turns out to be comparable to most of the others on the market.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:Seems a bit slow on writes.

Pros:Very nice price on sale. Robust, excellent capacity/$ as well.
Comment:
$135 for a 16GB stick is simply excellent. The AES-256 encryption is a great bonus, and adds just that little bit of extra value to what is already an excellent value. I use this to cart around multimedia files, so its write speed (which seems kind of slow) is noticeable; but, it's still quite acceptably fast (filling up the entire stick in less than 6 minutes, so no real complaints here. The read speed, which is what was important to me, is quite decent and permits well-above HD bitrates.

I grabed one of thies and a friend of mine had two and said it was rather reziliant so i put one to the most extream test imaginable WARNING: I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TRYING THIS WITH YOURSE AS I WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONCIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR YOUR DAMAGES! But I took my friends pickup truck (F350 Full cab duley) and ran over it holding 8MPH and then took the same drive and tested to see if all files were still thier, and aside from a slight deformation of the outer skin the internal part (the data storeage chip(s) were n working order! great little package, recommended!! (price could come down a bit though)

Comment:
I have the 8 gb Corsair Flash Voyager. The rubber case has a nice feel to it and is very attractive. However, the longer you use it the looser the cap becomes. I'm surprised that I've not lost it yet. It seems that for a product of this price, they would design a cap that would not be in danger of getting lost.

Comment:
These are still a bit pricey, but for less than 200, can be justifiable if you have a lot of portable data. It comes with encryption software so that's a bonus. One of the best features is the rubberized case. I have dropped a few thumb-drives in the past. if I accidentally drop this one, it will just bounce!

Cons:rubber loop hole could potentially split open and possibly fall off of a key chain

Pros:16GB, physical size
Comment:
I've used this drive to store a virtual XP Pro operating system with about 2GB worth of applications and a total size of 8GB using VWware's Pocket ACE. I'll see if Vista can fit on it with some applications.

CORSAIR Flash Voyager 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive
Cons:- The look is very averagish

Pros:+ 16gb !!!+ Fast+ Not expensive for the capacity+ waterproof+ 10 years warranty
Comment:
16Gb is an awesome flash drive size, something really impressive. However it can be a little long to move large quantities of files using this device. read speed of the flash seems to be about the same as a hard drive but the write speed isn't. I wish the survivor edition would have been available when I purchased this one.

Comment:
My new Corsair USB 2 16GB Flash Voyager Drive is the best! I use it to transfer and store my high-definition photos. I couldn't be happier with the quality and price from Tigerdirect. It's fast and I haven't lost a bit of data. I highly recommend it.I love this, I am able to take everything with me rather than drag the computer along. A bargain.
