This PSU does what it is supposed to do. I was building a pc, and had intended to later upgrade the video card as I had an existing pcie card to use and keep my expenditures low... If you intend to upgrade your video card in the near future, and you intend to do so because you want mid range graphics like 9600 or hd4670... you will need more power. Everyone giving me advice on what to buy when building neglected to mention, Dont chince on the PSU... well you have been warned. If you are not going to use a mid range graphics card, go for it, put my tester to this thing and stays in spec. Nice big fan, yet reasonably quiet. Lots of extra 4 pin connectors. Also, if you have a mid or full tower, you may need something with longer cables. |
When I upgraded my GPU I needed a new PSU to keep up with the power requirements. The Coolermaster Elite has fulfilled all my requirements and provides me with a well cooled power machine. For the price, this power supply is a great buy. The only thing is I can notice that huge fan... the computer makes slightly more noise than it used to.
