Fit perfectly in my COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 case. Nice packaging and documentation. Need to get rid of whole cage from Pc case if you want to add/remove/replace a hard drive. Not actually a massive deal but it will be a bit more function. I have no complaints about this product. I bought three of these challenging drive cages and this will allow me to place 12 difficult drives in my unRAID media server. Some people complain about the blue LEDs but the lights don't bother me. The LEDs can be disabled with a pair of wire-snips if you actually don't like the lights.

Fits four hds in 3 bays. Has rubber vibration dampers for the whole cage and not the individual drives (unlike the hd cage that comes with the CM 590). Due to the fact of this the drives really rev up a tad quicker. I've noticed the slight performance raise.Fan is pleasantly quiet and aids with airflow through the case.x Fan is connected to the cage with plastic rivets. As soon as you break em, the fan comes off and there's no way of screwing it back in (unless you like nuts and bolts :-)I hated the blue lights in the fan, but didn't want to remove it (see above issue), so I just snipped off the led connectors. It's holding two 500 GBs, 1 1TB, and 1 300GB Velociraptor.

4 drives in three bays. I installed this in some generic case that only had three 5.25" bays, so it was a excellent fit. Good quality workmanship. As others have noted, the blue LED is annoying, but perhaps not so significantly for the kiddies. Can't install additional drives with no removing the whole cage. I utilized this in my WHS create, and it lowered the operating temps of the drives considerably. For the cash, you can't beat this cage.

Solid! Comes packed with a fan (led), and slipped into my case with ease. Come with rubber spacers to ease vibration from the drive. Not an easy task to get to the fan if you want to modify it out. Beefed up the look of my Cooler Master Centurion!

If you know what this item is for, had 1 prior to (or a similar style), or read the other testimonials, you would know this does just what it's supposed to do.Blue lit fan matches rest of my case style, so that's 'nice' (but see 'Cons'!)Incredibly light aluminum style (much lighter than it's heavy-aluminum or 'other' metal (steel?) design of it's older CM-Stacker drive rack predecessor) The new style, compared to it's older brother, (the heavier steel or heavy-aluminum, and front-panel'less design, that came with the original CM-STACKER, and is nearly impossible to discover now), is somewhat ugly ... it forces you to advertise the Coolermaster logo on a big silver plaque, and behind it sits a considerably weak (but nonetheless nice to have, and superior size) blue-lit fan.I bought TWO of these for my many HDD's, packed into my CM-STACKER 810 (one of THE best circumstances EVER), and the new style intrudes on the original design that had the drive cage hide behind the original, stealthy grills. In relation to the 'Con' of the forced-panel design, I believe it May be feasible to remove the panel, though still holding the fan and convert this to the older style CM HDD cage, where you can then use the Circumstances original grill's that offer their own stealthy aesthetic AND that have mesh to keep dust out of the case. (I was in a rush, so didn't but try myself.)Nonetheless, the new design DOES present the added benefit of NOT having to remove the case grills to get rid of the drive cage, as it's all now one peice (Drive Cage + Front grill), so it's a bit less complicated to work with.If you KNOW you need to have 1 of these, then you KNOW how helpful this is, it's pretty simple for any tech-savvy builder.

Melds nicely with CM690 II. Blue LED would appear good if CM690II's front fan lit up like it was supposed to as nicely. Holds four drives like it's supposed to. LOUD. Turned on my PC 2 occasions considering that rebuilding it and both occasions this unit has made a very disagreeable amount of noise that sounds comparable to clipping a poker card to your bike and letting it it hit the spokes of your bike as you peddal along. Drives are so close together that you may want to attach your SATA power & data cables on the HD's ahead of mounting this sucker. This was a requested gift for Christmas 2010. I was genuinely excited about it, and have been for a lengthy time. The noise was a main dissapointment. Coolermaster has other 120mm fans at it's disposal that have higher CFM rates and lower dBa. What's the deal?

- all aluminum style (other than front grill)- rubber mounts keeps factors quiet-least expensive four drive box resolution out there FAN is USELESS - see commentshad to replace with 1 of these:http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185060&cm_re=scythe_fan-_-35-185-060-_-Product my challenging drives got hotter with this cage. Once I took out the stock fan and tested it, it was maybe a 30-40CFM fan. Once I took out the dust filter and replaced it with a scythe fan, I saw temps drop five degrees Celsius from the OLD temps. NICE!shame coolmaster tries to be the leading edge of cooling and then puts in 3rd rate components. It makes me think twice about acquiring something coolmaster again. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,We apologize for any inconvenience. Based on space temperature, the fans are sufficient to keep the hard drives within usual operating temperature. cools all challenging drives well following flipping fan to draw air FROM hdd location. spacing in between hard drives is possibly 2mm. no fails immediately after 2 years. The enclosure fan cover looks fantastic. had to figure out the pins to release the fan from enclosure. to do this just pull/push the center pin from the four tabs that clamp down on the rivet-like shaft. I just wish there was a way to stack 2 fans to pull a lot more air. Following all the hard drives' content material is worth protecting!

I comprehend that lot of these four-into-three or 5-into-three issues have a challenging time fitting in a normal case. This 1 fit very cleanly into my Antec P150 with no cutting needed. The blue LED is super, super vivid. Fortunately this box is a fileserver that stays in a closet, but wow is that factor vivid. I'd have to open it back up to disconnect that LED if this thing weren't in the closet. If you don't care about hotswap and having a backplane or any of that, you can't do significantly better than this for a 4-into-three. Fits neatly into a standard case, no drama, no weird screw hole placement.

The fan truly is in a position to maintain 4 drives cool. I installed this in my 10-drive mid-tower file server to replace a homegrown four-in-3 that didn't contain a fan. Drive temperature went from around 50C to 40C. Mission accomplished. I hate the blue LED. It's so cliché, so 2001. Why should so quite a few Computer cooling fans have bright, garish LEDs built in? We're not all creating LAN party rigs! Properly, at least it doesn't blink. The enclosure is not toolless or hotswappable, but you get what you pay for.

The pros and cons are based on these modules vs. the original modules that came with the antec 1200 case. I'm upgrading. They fit four drives rather of three, so far better density. Seem to be greater made, as my antec modules are beginning to show signs of becoming close to finish-of-life.The faceplates of the antec component are occasionally falling apart. In much less than 2 years, 2 of the 3 modules' fans failed. I hope the coolermaster parts are a lot more durable. Just looking at the way the parts are assembled, I suspect they are. Also, the plastic mounting pins (They appear like cement screw anchors.) of the antec three-in-three are failing, and the modules are unusable as soon as you can't mount drives in them anymore. The coolermaster utilizes conventional screw holes and normal hardware. The fans are natively three pin, and come with four to 3 pin adaptors, producing installation less difficult rather then digging by means of the adaptors, you only unhook the 3 pin connector and slide the module out. You certainly still have to unhook the dr The modules won't accept dual two.5 to 3.five bracket adaptors with 2 LP SAS drives installed, there's not fairly sufficient room. The antec module had a bit much more space which allowed the use of these adaptors, no problem. The modules appear ok, but the massive silver/grey stripe across the front would be a deduction if you wanted to go stealth. I genuinely wish I could give this 4.five stars. These modules are significantly lighter than the included antec modules, and seem far better constructed. They fit the 1200 with out bending or grinding the tabs, and use the original thumbscrews just fine.I'm gonna put velcro tape over the massive grey stripe, and use cut squares from prefilter from a honeywell air purifier for my filter. I can just cut a new squares each and every 3 months and throw the old squares away. If you have a honeywell air purifier and get generic 'cut to fit' replacement prefilter material it won't cost you considerably, if something at all. I have added material left over, and it's not enough for the purifier, so it's seriously totally free. It's significantly much easier than attempting to disassemble either module. Just rip off the square and throw it away.I think it's a wise purchase.

Swiftly installed into case, thankfully I had some rails to attach to it.There is about a half inch of space among the drives when you place them in the unit. Fans are reasonably silent but push enough air to preserve items cool.I bought two and put them into my household server, filled them with 2TB drives and attached them to a hardware SAS raid card, now I have plenty of storage. If your computer system has some archaic or custom drive mounting program (ie: rails) then make positive you have adequate to hold this unit in location. Wish I had a lot more bays.

This thing is silent. No vibrations or fan noise and it keeps my drives nice and cool. I often be concerned about heat and feel that most challenging drive failures are due to heat. My four 500GB drives remain on 24 hours a day and could produce a lot of heat. I will need 1 of these for the 10K RPM drive in my desktop but there's no room in the case with the DVD drive installed. I have four 500GB SATAII drives spinning in an old ATX case for my RAID-Z file server. I wish more lower finish instances had sufficient hdd cooling.

I own two of these units. Purchased my 1st more than a year ago, still running powerful. After install, my Tough Drive runs 20 degrees (F) cooler! Produced a big distinction!Straightforward to install, simple to modify too: Replaced the Blue LED with a red LED fan on the second obtain.Very quiet and moves a superior bit of air. Every single new PC I create will contain 1 of these. None that I can tell. Quailty design and construction. it is Not a cheaply made product, it is high excellent.

Works; fairly effortless to assemble; nice and light (before you bolt drives to it). There is a two-layer permanent filter attached to this unit, in between the front grille and the fan. It can not be serviced with the unit mounted in a system: you have to get rid of the assembly. (You can eliminate the grille with out getting to unbolt the drives, at least).Following a couple of months, this filter clogged so badly it entirely blocked airflow, and triggered a smartmond temperature alarm.I removed the filter mesh layers and reassembled it; dropping drive temperature by 8 degC. A filter you have to dismantle the system to clean is not useful, so it's not going back in. As the only electrical portion of this is the fan, it's a a lot safer buy than some of the hot-swap cages, which I've identified to be rather hit-or-miss. (Even with the fan filter issue.)

The front bezel does come off so that just the fan is exposed.Works as advertised. I have a COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 case & this cage was substantially far more cheaply built than the cage that came with the case. Wish they had a model that did not have the blue light in the fan.

- Wonderful quality construction.- Reasonable price, for me, less than ษ- Fits CM Stacker 832 perfectly. None actually. Best remedy for me. I was about to get a 5.25 to three.5" bracket for an additional HD. Just the bracket would have price ~บ with shipping. For ~ษ, this was a excellent solution for me, and I have room for additional HD's in the future.

Holds 4 three.five" HDDs. Has some shock absorbing rubber feet. 120mm fan has superior airflow with hardly any noise - it will probably aid cool down other parts of your case not just the hdds. BLUE LEDS on fan. Wow, this is so stupid. Why do they force these things onto us? I had to snip the wires leading to the leds. Why would I want leds on my server! Also, with 4 hdds in this factor it makes your case very leading-heavy. LEDs are fine but do not put them on fans!

19 hour shipping for UPS ground! Was nicely constructed, and fit in my Cosmos S perfectly (it really should be precisely the exact same as the other 4 in three cage, only with a blue LED fan instead of a red one). The blue LEDs are annoying, but very easily removed. Just cut the wires going to the 4 corners of the fan (I had to slip an exacto knife between the fan blades to get to them. Airflow is fine, fan is quiet. None actually, it's just a tough drive cage.

Holds 4 tough drives in a space that employed to hold three, times two. Blue lights on the server make it easyer to see that the server is on. Dropped my hard drive temps about ten degrees. Cons:Using 4 hard drives with the stock fan is not good IMO. You should look into a higher pressure fan, like a GELID or even a 2000rpm CM fan if you want to keep your drive heat down.Changing fan is a pain in the ***

Pros:Good price, comes with a blue LED fan.4 hard drives. One of the better bay converters.
Comment:
I mostly use these to add more fans to a case. Sometimes I take off the front plate if the case has grill 5.25 bays. Sometimes it looks cool with the design on it. The only thing that is not good is the way the fans attach...it is difficult to get off and put back on.
