About a year ago I decided to construct a laptop with a 125W AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. I required one thing to cool that super hot CPU! AMD includes a heatsink and fan with their processors, but I don't trust them. I wanted some thing that if the fan went poor, my CPU would not overheat and blow up. This filled that niche by using two fans and a thermoelectric cooler. This thing keeps my 125W CPU operating at 10 degrees F above current space temperature. It doesn't appear to matter what I am doing on my computer, the CPU temp is often about the very same in relation to the temperature in my space. This far exceeds my expectations for any CPU cooler, and you would want one heck of a water cooling method to maintain up with this thing.Installation was a snap, I had no complications installing the thing.Cons:Oh my G*d, words can not clarify the trouble this stupid factor gave me! I installed the unit only to have both fans start out squealing like explicit content material in much less than a month! I went to Cooler Masters net internet site, filled out a parts request, and with no questions asked I had two new fans in just a couple of days. Possibly a week later the one fan went nuts on me and the other 1 completely failed. I referred to as them up and complained, they said they had been sorry and that the fans are rated for like 50,000 hours of continuous use, or one thing like that, and I had them send me out 4 fans. This time, only the one fan began flipping out. I replaced, and I have had really little trouble since then. I was so ticked at this point I was just one fan a way from returning the factor. The 1 fan does still make noise to this day on the other hand, I located that by tilting my case to the left a little it stops creating noises. You may possibly be wondering why then, after all this trouble and a frustration to the point where I wanted to beat the thing with a hammer and believe me, I have a hammer on my desk as I sort this, I gave the product four eggs out of five. 1st, even although I don't think I need to have to have a block of wood under my case to quit it from squealing, it works. It works exceptional well! Like I mentioned above, it far exceeds my expectations for any CPU cooler.Second, Cooler Master has the greatest customer service I have ever dealt with, bar none! When I named them for the third time, I was truly frustrated and then I was on hold for an hour with no answer. I was... Wow was I ever... I hung up, I known as them back, I talked to the operator and told her what was going on and that I was on hold for an hour, and she took my name and quantity, and stated she would have an individual call me back as soon as possible. I'm thinking, oh good, I will probably never ever hear from them... Fifteen minutes later, Cooler Master calls me up, and I have them rush deliver the new fans. The guy actually went to shipping and gave them the shipping order by hand to make confident it would go out that day too. I have by no means herd of a organization doing that!

This cooler is specifically what enthusiasts like me have been searching for and it could not come rapidly adequate! Superior CPU cooling with some ram airflow as effectively. This factor blows A LOT of air. It did not harm anything and went straight into my Cosmos case with no hitch at all. I don't thoughts paying more than 贄 for this answer mainly because its quality construction, really heavy duty and cools much better than something I have ever had. And I have had Thermalright 120, Nirvana 120, V8 and OCZ coolers. Extremely Happy with my acquire. None, if I am incredibly satisfied with it, then that means I got what I paid for! This is a great organization, high quality products from cases, energy supplies and coolers. I completely support them.

This thing is Big! It moves plenty of air and keeps my RAM cool as nicely. This factor is Huge! It is heavy. Makes it a real pain to access RAM. Take into consideration the height of this beast and the clearance in the case you are working with. Making use of the V10 with Rampage iii Extreme and Lanboy Air case is a really really tight fight. It necessary a small quantity of persuasion to clear the plastic buttons on the top of the cooler.

This looks like it could be a excellent item if it worked. I like the memory cooling feature and the concept of the TEC. Large, so make confident it will fit in the case and your memory will fit under the radiator. Corsair Dominator and G.Skill Trident fit with no problem. Kingston Hyper X will not fit. If TEC not operating, the fans and radiators are tough pressed to preserve a core i7 965EE under 80 degrees C at stock speeds. If the TEC goes out, as mine did , you can\'t rely on the cooling supplied by the fans and radiators to maintain adequate cooling at even stock speeds. This leads me to think the fans are underpowered. Given that we are motivated to get the very best cooling answer readily available to protect a 1000 dollar processor, Cooler Master really should have done a greater job designing this product. An audible alarm for TEC failure is one function that should be needed. For the cost and hassle you have to go thru to install this product, I am truly incredibly disappointed with Cooler Master at this point. Now I have to RMA it and wait 10 days to 2 weeks for a new cooler.

Pros: Superior looking cooler and covers RAM for further cooling. If you typical the price of a CPU air cooler and an air RAM cooler, the value is about equal. Keeps stock clocked i7 950 at about 43C idle. (This is NOT wonderful). No condensation problems with the TEC whatsoever. Cons: Major and heavy, be positive your MB can deal with a 2.five lb weight hanging off of it. The fans are Extremely prone to death by dust. I clean my PC weekly and had 1 of the 120mm fans entirely seize in about four months. Poor customer service from manufacturer. I replaced each fans (but could only discover three pin fans, not 4 pin fans) from Cooler Master, but they told me that my doing so I had voided my warranty- nonetheless had 5 months of warranty left. Tech support assumed I was dense enough to not have plugged the fan plug into the CPU fan headder on the motherboard, which I discovered somewhat insulting. When the tech kicks in this factor sounds like a harrier taking off. I have built a few PC's in my day. This cooler was selected due to the fact it was SUPPOSED to be virtually as good as liquid. Keeping my CPU temps at 50-60C under load is not that impressive for a cooler in this cost range, in particular without an OC on the processor! A filter on your intake fans is a Must, as the fans in this cooler are really fragile. Volume can be anyplace from quiet at a dull idle to hurricane force throughout heavy use. Possibly I just purchased into the hype, but somehow I expected more from this item. If you are building a monster gaming rig, air cooling is still not as good as liquid- but at least you do not have to be concerned about a leak with an air unit. It can be a tough trade-off. As air coolers go, this 1 is decent but do not presume it will chill you for a very good OC- it will not.

three sets of finscools not only CPU but RAM as nicelyputs most WC loops to shameI for 1 didn't find the directions all that confusing (I didn't even read them much the installation seemed self-explanatory) Must install motherboard on top of V10 WITH RAM installed for "convenience" when constructing your computer system. Watch the v10 installation instructions on youtube.. I believe coolermaster produced the video for their v10 clients who discovered the instructions "confusing".Only a SAMPLE of thermalfusion 400 paste was included but was much more than enough to do the job. Hey now.. this CPU keeps my phenom ii x2 555 idle @ 16C both cores... Can't complain about that at all! At load I can only envision it barely breaks the 32C mark. Make certain that Right after applying thermal grease to your CPU check to see if the cooler has any bald spots (this will tell you if the CPU or heatsink is slightly less than flat). Right after reapplying thermal grease over the bald spots I got those temps with CM thermalfusion 400 paste that CAME WITH the cooler!Always do your homework just before purchasing your new CPU cooler but coolermaster gets the job performed proper (usually the initial time). ALSO, this CPU cooler is getting applied in a CM ATCS 840 eatx case. Hope those reading this speedy assessment finds it beneficial.

Looks cool, keeps CPU cool if installed appropriate Incredibly bulky/hard to install. I had to use a glob of Arctic Silver five and re-seat it numerous times to make positive there was solid contact. The screws are a pain due to the fact if you don't tighten them enough there is not sufficient make contact with, but the a lot more you tighten them you feel like you're going to crack the mobo. As soon as installed properly, it did not perform as expected. For 财 I was expecting close to water cooled outcomes TEC only kicks in when CPU is above 70 degrees Celsius (which the CPU ought to never reach if it is cooled correctly). The heavy pricetag is paying for the TEC which is under utilized. This product is a waste of funds. Stick with the V8 or the noctua, megahalems, or corsair H50. They all perform far better and are half the expense Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We apologize for any inconvenience. Exceptional motherboard. BIOS is really user friendly, nearly totally dummy proof, but incredibly in depth and advanced that a expert overclocker could take full advantage of what ever he needed. EVGA truly out did themselves with this motherboard series. Im a huge ASUS fan, but following this buy, Im afraid its going to be EVGA from here on out... None with the board, its that good. A few a lot more SATA cables would have been nice, only gives you two =( Buy it, you wont regret it. 4GHz on my new i7 920 was so simple, i was surprised at how straightforward it was to reach. with a cooler master v10 and zero-therm vt100... 4011MHz stable and 29*C under heavy load ( 1080p COD4, Highest settings w/ msi GTS250 OC 1GB for gpu and 8800GT for dedicated PhysX)

Looks freeking sweet. Will cool practically as superior as a water setup even if the TEC fails. It is fairly heavy, but absolutely nothing I'm worried about and I'm not worried about it bending the MB, it's incredibly unlikly to take place. - 1 egg for the tiny screew, see below. OK. For anybody thinking about acquiring this, here is some very good information. When putting the "legs" on, depending on what chipset you have, be extremely carefull with the 4 tiny screews! The head of 1 of mine twisted off; it sucks for the price I paid but I'm not ganna cry or loose sleep more than it. You can get a replacement at most great hardwear shops for five cents. For all the people who cried about the threads on the mounting screews; the larger threaded part of the shaft has lefthand threads. That means when you tighten up the nuts on the back side of the motherboard, the screews won't unscreew from the "legs" of the HSF mount. If you can't figure that out, well.... perhaps you shouldn't be taking the cover off your personal computer. Also people have stated they had the TEC fail on them, if this takes place, unplug the 4 pin molex plug but make certain to leave the 4 pin mini molex plugged into your CPU fan header and you'll be fine. If the TEC fails you still have the a poor a@# HSF.

Keeps the cpu cool even without the TEC chip working Defective TEC chip. The cooler worked perfectly with the 3-pin and the Molex connectors plugged in for a small more than a week, but this morning the pc woke me up at about 5am with an annoying beep every 2-20 seconds. Soon after verifying with EVGA that the motherboard was not at fault, I went by means of the horrible approach of taking the motherboard tray out of my case. After doing so, I realized that the beeps disappear if I don't use the Molex connector. I did some investigation and discovered that the TEC chip was the difficulty. At this point, I don't actually feel that it is worth it to RMA my V10, as it keeps the CPUs nice and cool as it is and from what I have heard, the TEC portion of it is all but worthless. If you want a cool searching CPU cooler that cools your RAM as well, feel free to buy it, even although I see that men and women are recommending the cooler 1 step down.

Works definitely properly to maintain items cool. Dropped my CPU temp from about 80C under load to about 60C. Not very the reduction temps I was hoping for, but a lot much better. I was having stability problems in the low 80s with my Core2 Quad, no issues immediately after installing this monster. Way to tough to install, and too bulky. I think they could have achieved the similar performance with much less bulk. It's so large, that in my ATX case, the rear of it is 1ǘ an inch from the back of my case, and the front is literally pressing against the HDDs. Installation requires the removal of the motherboard, and simply because of its bulk, I can not unplug, let alone get rid of a HDD in the even of a failure with out a complete disassembly of my system. I was truly hoping for more of a temp drop from a CPU cooler that costs over a hundred dollars. 48C at idle is nonetheless kind of hot, in particular for a lower finish Core2 Quad. I have a 140mm intake fan and two 80mm rear exhaust fans too, so this CPU cooler ought to be able to perform far better. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer - We apologize for any inconvenience. The cooler is a hybrid; it will cool both your cpu and your memory, that is the reason it is so huge. In regards to the idle temperature, please check your overclock to make certain it is as efficient as achievable. The far more voltage you have, the a lot more heat you will have by means of it. Keeps my CPU at 13c at idle and it's only running at about 850 RPM. This factor is actually Major, not so considerably a con though. The screews that go trough to HSF "legs" have left hand threads on the larger part of the shaft. Turn counter clockwise to tighten. It's created that way so when you mount it and tighten up the nuts on the back of the motherboard it won't come unscreewed from the HSF "legs". Some folks have mentioned it was bad QA or they got the wrong parts and complained about the cost; nicely it's created that way for a reason. Newegg, please don't 86 this post. People will need to know how to correctly mount this thing and how it works.

The reviews saying it's 1 of the very best are true. At least intially. Right after two weeks of Use I went from idle 96-105 F temps to 130-137 F at idle. At 1st the TEC stopped working and then the fans gave up. It would appear to be the controller but good luck fixing IC chips. BSODs from overheating with NO OC'n running DDR3 2000s at 1333. If they had employed excellent parts this thing would rock. Nonetheless they didn't and it's worthless unless you strategy on spending 贝 every single two weeks. It looks pretty, and it isn't that loud. It's heavy, bulky, cheaply created, the LED's go out, the TEC chip WILL go out, it's a pain int he [Explicit Deleted] to take install and take. I checked my temps idling 1 day (not even overclocking) and saw my CPU was a 80 C. :O.... So i took this heat sink off only to discover that the threaded screw holes for the mounting bracket had been stripped, and my heat sink for even producing full contact with the CPU.
