Wow! Everything I read about these drives is correct! Well worth the income. I had it and Windows 7 Profressional installed in under 30 minutes. Boot and shut down occasions are eye openers and much more importantly, COD Black OPs and MOH perform just flawlessly! Only wish the cost point was lower. Hate obtaining to submit rebates. If you buy a single, don\'t forget not to defrag! SSD's don't need it and you will essentially shorten your drives lifespan.

Have had this drive installed for 3 months, no troubles so farWas able to get advertised read/write speeds None My earlier SSD was causing the blue screen standby issue with Windows 7, upgraded to this for the area and now I no longer have troubles. Never ever had to modify the firmware, on the other hand I updated my BIOS when this was installed so maybe that helped.I moved the old SSD to my netbook operating Ubuntu and no longer have concerns with that either.

None. Not only can I NOT suggest Corsair, I truly really feel compelled to post and warn fellow shoppers against acquiring from this corporation! It's been specifically 15 days considering that Corsair acknowledged through e-mail that they received my broken SSD.I have not received Something ELSE from Corsair. I mailed to them a ~趚 piece of gear two weeks ago and they can't even send me periodic status updates? I just named their tech support following digging by means of their web site and was told that my wait time was roughly 13 minutes! This is beyond ridiculous Corsair. Becoming a very good tech company implies you have to make excellent products AND supply excellent buyer service and proper now you are failing miserably on the on the latter.

This was a delight to perform with. I have never had such an effortless time with a new develop. This drive and Windows 7 had been created for a single a different. Loading the OS was straightforward and quick. Just let Windows deal with the heavy lifting. The issue that took the most time was deciding where to locate the drive in the case. This is the only drive for my Computer. I'm thinking about adding another SSD. None, now and I hope for a excellent time to come. Cost is the show stopper right here. Nonetheless, I assume the benefits of speed, being fairly and decreasing heat make it well worth the funds.

At this point certainly none! This is a follow up to my original 2 egg post. The HD suddenly died following exactly two months of use.The RMA course of action from Corsair is sorely lacking.I applied for an RMA on the 8th, received authorization the subsequent day and shipped them the broken difficult drive the 12th.They confirmed that they received it the 15th, stating that they would investigate and then determine to repair/replace.It's now Friday the 18th and I nonetheless don't have a replacement HD and my desktop is not operational. This is my primary workstation and not getting it up and operating for more than ten days is particularly disruptive. Sorry Corsair, but you just lost a client.I bought an equivalent SSD from G-Ability also 2 months ago for my media center and no problems so far.I'm receiving a second one for my Computer mainly because I'm tired of waiting on you!http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231378From now on I'll stick with G-Skill for RAM/SSD, Pc P&C for PSU and Cooler Master for situations. If you ever make a decision to replace my SSD I could install it in my laptop....maybe.

I just installed this SSD and have place it by way of its paces immediately after a couple of hours. Before Ghosting from my HDD I flashed my Gigabyte board (known to have S.M.A.R.T. difficulties with SandForce controllers found on this SSD) with the most up-to-date beta BIOS (do some digging and you'll locate it) and I also updated the SSD's firmware to two. (released at the starting of Nov 2010) and all went well. I utilized Ghost 15. and disabled restoring "Original Disk Signature", restoring the 100MB Technique Reserved Partition initial. I did not have to use the Windows 7 64-bit Recovery Disk when doing this. Doesn't fairly have the speed of C300 but I'll wait for the Sandybridge 6gbs chipset ahead of going that route. With my Core i7 860 method, I timed a program restart at approx 1 minute ten seconds (I have specifically 17 items in my Windows 7 technique tray) soon after which I launched IE and it popped up right away. This would have taken about 5 minutes with my preceding HDD. I utilized the free of charge "SSD Tweaker" plan to optimize my method for use with SSD (I had to manually disable defrags of the SSD even though).

Beats a HDD in almost every category except size, I'd suggest using some brand of SSD to anybody.

Its suppose to be quick... I installed it on my macbook pro and it lags at start up occasionally taking 3-five mins to just boot. And when it does boot the battery life of my five hour battery turns into 45 mins. Incredibly unacceptable! Why would i want to keep this drive it my laptop if 1) it doesn't boot any faster then a 7200 rpm HD or 2) it sucks my battery life to the point exactly where its unusable......

This drive does strengthen performance. Right here's my outcomes with a clean set up and about 15GB of programs installed. Startup: 22 secondsDeep sleep wake: 16 secondsPhotoshop CS4: 3 secondsFirefox: two secondsWord 2011: 1 second four stars because the drive came with the 1.1 firmware. Sadly, this firmware version was not compatible with deep sleep (and would force a reboot soon after waking). The two. firmware seemed to repair this problem but I had to flash it with a Windows machine since no OSX tool is accessible. If you don't have access to Windows, you'll have to RMA the drive to get it flashed. Definitely quick, but not as fast as I had hoped. I'm working with this drive on a 13" Macbook Pro with 2.26Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR3 ram, OSX ten.6.5.

- reaches advertised speeds (in ATTO)- Amazing boost in battery life. Gained over an hour on leading of my Samsung PM800 SSD and two hours much more than a Hitachi 7k500 500gb򞀠rpm HDD.- price compared to Intel X25M, bought for 赭 (赅 AR) - UNRELIABLEThis is my 3rd Corsair F120. 1st unit had FW 1. and plagued with BSOD issues and returned it 2nd unit has FW 1.1 and has ZERO matters. Tried it in four diverse laptops (HP TM2, HP 8540w, Dell E4310, Lenovo X200 tablet). At this point, I would have given it a 5* rating. Nevertheless getting utilised in my HP 8540w, I decided to purchase a different for my Lenovo X200 tablet.3rd unit shipped w/ FW two. and from my encounter, the worst FW "upgrade" but! Sleep/wake up matters occur 100% of the time! No way to "downgrade" the FW to 1.1, according to Corsair. I have tried anything. Intel RST 9.6 and MS AHCI make no distinction.BIOS set to AHCIturned off Hybrid Sleepfollowed and read every thing on the Corsair forum No chance I'm going to sit about and wait till Corsair releases another firmware update. Corsair constantly seemed to be a lag behind in firmware updates than the other individuals (OCZ, GSkill). If you're going to be slow to release updates... at least make sure YOU GET IT Proper! or don't release a new firmware at all. Or at least give the buyer the selection to "upgrade" firmware, in case the new one particular doesn't operate.Don't bother spending your tough earned funds, time, and work on an SSD with questionable reliability and compatibility. At this point, I will gladly invest a bit a lot more to get a reliable and confirmed Intel X25M SSD. This is the initially time I've ever bothered posting a evaluation... THAT shows how considerably of a headache this Corsair Force SSD has given me and I wanted to save other buyers the difficulty.

Quite FastWow! This drive is Fast! It lives up to the reported specs. Like all SSDs its silent, doesn't get hot and doesn't use considerably energy. Like Magic (It Disappears)There seems to be an problem when utilizing some difference hardware configurations with this device. Check the Corsair support forum just before you purchase this. The drive from time to time causes the technique to reboot (mostly when idle). When it does, the BIOS doesn't detect the drive once more until the energy is cycled. This also appears to crash waking from hibernation / sleep when energy management is configured to turn off the tough drive. You ought to check the support forums of all products you obtain prior to you purchase them. This is a new drive, as with any new item there will be concerns with particular configurations, but I'm sure it will be sorted out with time.If you turn your computer off when you are finished with it, you will never ever see the errors I mentioned in the Cons.Make confident to enable TRIM to sustain the write speed of the drive.

Was great although it lasted. Purchased the F120 from Newegg on 9ቬ񳏊. Died these days threeǞ񳏋... less than six months. Nothing at all on the drive is recoverable. I run ten computers and have other mfg SSDs in a single and tried Corsair in one more. The other is still going powerful immediately after a year with no problems. Corsair is dead. For almost 3 hundred bucks, you'd consider Corsair would make a far more reputable product. I like Corsair power supplies. I won't get one more SSD, I no longer trust the quality and don't have time to rebuild drives just about every six months. Searching at the Corsair forum nowadays it is evident that several of their drives are getting sudden failures.Moral of the story - make confident you are undertaking backups if you are employing an SSD! Information is not recoverable like on a trad challenging drive. Manufacturer Response:We are extremely sorry that your SSD failed. However, any electronic component from any manufacturer is succeptible to failure due to the nature of electronics. We will gladly replace your drive and apologize once more for your inconvenience.External Link(s): Corsair Get in touch with Page|

Rapidly. Silent. Low power use. Excellent price tag. Good customer support.Like the 2.five to three.5 adapter that was included. Makes my Win7 program restart randomly and then technique doesn't recognize the SSD and hence doesn't boot till powerdown. SSD are nevertheless expansive. Thankfully Corsair knows about the issue with their Force SSDs and they are promising a firmware update that will resolve the concern by the finish of this month (September 2010). I like Corsair drives, but they ought to have picked up on that ahead of releasing that SSD to the public.

Appropriate off the bat, user complain about difficult drive not recognized by BIOS and call for various reboots before it will load the OS.About a month later, challenging drive fails to be detected. Soon after several attempts to boot the drive, BIOS detects the drive but finds no bootable partition.Upon further inspection, all partitions are wiped, partition table and MBR is gone. Conventional data recovery fails to find any semblance of information. Drive is now recognizable, but all data is gone. Rolled about several Corsair P128 a couple of months ago. They are nonetheless rock solid. Nonetheless it appears like the Force series' top quality could not be as stellar. Note: Backup your data. Incredibly rapid begin up time, very, straightforward to install with Windows 7. Scored a 7.4 in the Windows test, which is good! Corsair client service, which I have located usually to be very good. Newegg often superior too. 120 GB turns into 111 GB usable, which following getting Windows 7 installed turns into 90 GB. Make certain you acquire a secondary tough drive for additional space, or by the 240 GB drive. Thoughts you, this is not truly a complaint about the drive, just a realization of how rapidly GB's can go now-a-days Quite content with obtain, newegg was excellent, and would advocate to everyone.

A lot quicker than a hard drive when it works. At times will not boot, often locks up soon after boot, sometimes blue-screen. Crashes on resume from suspend to ram. I've been restoring from backup once a week to recover from complete system corruption.Firmware two. (latest) from Corsair does not fix it, and their tech support's attitude is "turn off suspend to ram and deal with it until your system releases a BIOS workaround."The very same problem affects every single drive with this Sandforce controller. Read all about it in the drive producers' support forums.
