Cons:a tad bit large, should be fine on most motherboards not recommended for small machines
Pros:great i7 memory , huge heatsink, mostly heat resistant, great speed and price, pc has never felt better Comment:
great RAM got on sale for 100$, i am sure my pc will be healthy for a good long time before i get 6core proc, intel i7 quad core works nice, quick install no worry GREAT RAM :D |

Altho it took me awhile to fine tune these DIMMS. they are quality stuff. Pretty much do as advertised.. I'm used to timings of 8-8-8-24-74 with my old XMS3 6GB kit... I understand 9-9-9-24 but wasnt expecting 9-9-9-24-107... not that i even know the last number even makes a difference.... But auto kept finding 84 wich also isnt stable.. lol But one thing that keeps me coming back to Corsair is they do what they say, and are very good with compatability... I dont want to take a chance on spending money to have issues... Gets 7.9 in W7 x64 in windows assessment. |

I bought these to use on a Rampage III Formula board with 980X CPU that we use for video work. Originally I had bought a set from another manufacturer that I could not get to run at rated timings. So I returned them and got this Corsair set and have had no problems with running these at at their rated timings of 1600 mhz and 9-9-9-24. In some of the reviews I have read of this set they have been able to use lower timings but so far we have not been able to do better than spec with these. Considering it's a 12 gig set the rated timings are good enough though.I guess I should mention what the real benefits of so much RAM are. It's not going to make your games or apps run faster unless you are doing very specialized work with large files. But I have found it does make Windows 7 run quite a bit smoother because of the much larger prefetch cache in RAM. It's a nice power user upgrade at a reasonable price. |

the set works as advertised. the best thing about this set would have to be that it can get to 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 without going over 1.5v. the only issue with modules such as these, are that the height of the heatspreader might interfere with aftermarket cpu heatsinks. in my situation it did, and i can only populate the first slot (of 6) with modules with lower/standard heatspreaders. |
12gb reads only 4gb @ 1600mhz if you ever make it there ,12gb reads @ 1423 mhz on a asus rampage three formula , XMP will not function.set these manual in bios 9-9-9-24-88-1n @ 1423 will only get these things going stable you have to be extremely carefull putting these in / there like toys incredibly delicate / had one break the plastic so referred to as aluminum heat sink Cosair hope you carry on creating the beefy heatsinks for your memory as allways + grade 4 layer green Copper Clad PCB for your memory chips
