Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Cons:Nothing really maybe black PCB...

Pros:Nice alternative to onboard sound, good features and enhancements,
Comment:
Good card and provides better sound than onboard since it has all the latest creative enhancements. No issues as others. I have and been using this for awhile. p55 classified 200 left out optical input and i have yet to see an onboard optical in and out on any board. so this is the best budget sound alternative. Good product and recommend it to anyone.

Some problems with this card.
Comment:
I have always used SB products with no problems until I got this card. I installed on my system with windows xp pro 32bit and kept hearing a popping and cracking sound. Updated the drivers and prob still there. Then I put a new hd in and installed windows 7 pro 64bit clean install and same prob with popping sound. If you go out and research this model card you will find out that it is a common issue with this card but not evone has the prob. Now the prob has almost dissappeared by itself somehow. Also the autoupdate does not find my product in win7 64bit. The card still has good sound quality wwith 5.1 speakers just has some some software issues that they need to fix. This site got it to me fast and in good shape.

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Cons:Nothing so far.

Pros:A lot better than integrated audio, everything can be tailored to your own preferences. Card and software very easy to install.
Comment:
A wat better option than onboard audio, nice to have an EQ again. As soon as it started you can tell the difference. Install was very clean and easy, don't understand the problems that other people talk about. Using Windows 7 Pro and a i7860 in a HP Pavillion, easy to upgrade.

Good for listening to music
Comment:
Its a decent sound card, I enjoyed it most when I first got it. I have it hooked up to my stereo system. Just found out today that it doesn't have ASIO capabilities which I require to play my guitar directly through the card to my speakers. If you don't plan on recording or playing guitar through it, its a nice card for listening to music or playing games. Decent amount of modifications you can make to perfect the sound you hear.

Awesome Card For XP32 SP3
Comment:
Got tired of trying to get SBLive5.1 (CT4760) cards to work in both my systems. The latest (2003) Live Driver Pack would install OK, but then Surround Mixer speaker tests would fail, and sound dropped off in some games. This X-Fi installed PERFECTLY using the included CD, then ran the auto update,.. and the sound was amazing in Nascar2003. But X-Fi card completely blocked one of my fans on my GTX275, and after a couple races I noticed that end of the card getting hotter than open side. So put the card in daughter's XP SP3 machine, again, seemless install. GREAT sound,.. passes all speaker tests repeatedly,.. and doesn't block her video card cause her PCIE 1.0 slot is above her PCIEX16 slot. Bought two originally,.. easilly RMA'd one and ordered the PCI X-Fi Xtreme Gamer for my rig, so will have clearance for vid card fans. EASY setup in XP32 SP3,.. GREAT sound,.. with old 5.1 sound system.

Hickups with installation
Comment:
My System: Dual boot via the BIOS. XP Pro, Win 7U 64 Bit. In each instance the system initally reconized the card as a MS product. With XP, I simply stopped the OS from continuing any further with installing any device drivers, and then ran the installation from the CD. It worked as advertised. With Win7U, the OS operated so fast, I couldn't stop the recongition process. I then uninstalled the drivers via Devise Manager. (I had to do this twice). It finally recongized the card for what it really was, and then proceeded to download, on its own, the appropriate drivers and software. Creative's site had driver for my OS but it refused to cooperate. The automatic download and updates made everthing work. PS The Audio control panel for each OS if different one from the other. My only beef: No SPDIF pins on card. Sound is excellent quality

Not an X-fi
Comment:
Dear unwitting consumer The card you see here does not contain an X-fi chip, EMU20k1 or EMU20k2. This card is really a fancy version of the CA0110 chip aka Audigy SE. Yes it has the crystalizer software but that is the only real X-fi feature. I would suggest reading actual reviews before purchase. This is not worth the money compared to a real X-fi.

Super Product for the PCIe x1 Slot!
Comment:
Another great product from Creative Labs. I have almost exclusively used Sound Blaster cards and this one uses the x1 Express lane, which on the latest PC I had to upgrade only had 1 PCI and 1 PCIe x1 slot available. Lots of options available to use including the 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 support, Optical Out, Optical In, etc.. Good value for the money for an X-Fi Xtreme card.

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Cons:Digital In

Pros:Analog output
Comment:
I am very disappointed with this card,It works great with 3.5mm jacks but when you decide you want to use the digital in for ANYTHING it will shout at you constantly with crackling/popping.Currently have sent an email to get the issue resolved but if it isn't soon I won't have the card any longer.

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Cons:Semi-frequent sound crashes.Poor DriversDoesn't work well with Vista.

Pros:Low price for optical out.Sound is much better than onboard, when it works.
Comment:
I am quite dissatisfied with this card. It crashes in mid game and it seems to have a lot of issues if you try to use Surround Sound. It seems many of the issues I be because of Vista, but I can't confirm nor deny. I will be looking for a new card.

Comment:
This is a good audio card plays sounds like a pro. but theres an update on vista with this card that you should look out for. it will play aduio on videos (example -Youtube) for say 10 secs. then it drops, all you get is a very soft bass beat. still trying to find out how to take it off. But very good card for gameing, music,

Comment:
This is the second Sound Blaster Audio product that I have had. It is relatively easy to use and gives the added options of adjusting for different environments. Makes the music sound really nice. I would recommend this product to new users.

Sounds fine, drivers are weak
Comment:
Sounds better than mobo, does 24 bit 96K default, surround is easy to set up, and it fills one of those cute little PCIe 1x slots. Doesn't work with pro audio applications - it admits that on the box and I do have a pro-grade card for that, but wanted more channels to mess around with, and to see if an older PCI pro card beats a newer PCIe consumer card. Doesn't use the same drivers as the other XFi cards, and no ASIO - if you don't know what that is it probably doesn't matter to you, but drivers that are left hanging probably do matter. Otherwise it's fine, so my recommendation is get any of the other XFis, which will likely be supported longer and better if they all use the same drivers. This was just all they had at the ma and pa shop here in rural Vermont (the nearest box store is about 80 miles). Pricey for the one XFi that doesn't do what the others do. I figured the local shop jacked the price up, but it's the same.

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Comment:
I had recently purchased the Logitech X 540 Speaker Set and was looking for a 5.1 capable sound card and didn't want to spend too much money so I purchased the Creative Labs 70SB104000000 Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I noticed a significant improvement in sound quality over my onboard RealTek. The software that comes with the card is quite useful and I had no trouble installing the card and software. The only negative aspect is that my mobo front panel jacks are not compatible with this sound card but I knew this beforehand after doing some research. Overall, this sound card combined with the Logitech speakers far exceeded my expectations. Plus, I received the sound card in 2 days. Can't beat the service from Tiger Direct!

Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio 70SB104000000 Sound Card
Cons:slow slow soft ware install/updates

Pros:Very high quality sound
Comment:
I got this card because wy onboard audio quit, so I decided to upgrade to an opitcal audio output... WOW, what a difference. When I watch movies and play games I hear sounds that I NEVER have before THIS CARD ROCKS. I got a cheap optiacl cable (ION brand) and it work just fine for $7.. no need to spend $50 on a Monster in my mind. Down side is the software, it took 2 hours to instal and update  and once or twice the audio quits. I ran a 10 sec. diagnostic and it works perfect. A minor incoviniance
