I bought the Inspiron 1000 5 years ago because it was low cost - 躓 with upgrade to 512k ram and three yr warranty and I believed the celeron would run cooler and last longer. I use it a lot each and every day and suffered with slow application speeds. Not with this upgrade! Memory works excellent. I have always used Vital memory and have never had a difficulty. I am still using an additional laptop that is a 7 year old desktop. I by no means shut it off or put it in sleep mode. The Vital memory has worked all this time without any difficulties. I always look for Vital when upgrading. Affordable. Immediately recognized by DELL 100L machine. Superior option for Kingston KTD-INSP5150ǗG which is virtually twice as much. My Dell 100L is now running 2GB Ram up from 256MB. Life is excellent once again! None I had concerns if I could run 2GB RAM on the Dell 100L, I inserted the memory 1GB at a time & re-booting immediately after each and every. N/A Saw the other reviews and felt safe going with Vital. The part came and would not work, black screen, then right after some wiggling it would boot and right away go to the dreaded blue screen with the shutdown warning. Had an individual test one more card and the method works perfectly. (PNY) Hope the next Crucial works far better than the last. Time will tell. Pay the additional dollars in the store and save yourself all these headaches. RMA numbers, repacking, shipping, waiting, hoping, praying, completely frustrating! And all for what??
