D-Link ANT24-0700 2.4GHz Omni-Directional 7dBi Indoor Antenna

I am using this antenna on the WiFi card in one my desktop computers not on the wireless router as is more common. This antenna addresses the simple problem of being able to move the antenna so the singnal from the router does not have to go directly through the metal tower case in order for the the router and computer antennas to "see" each other. Before signal could be weak or very weak with poor connection speed. Now it is alway Very Good to Excellent with 54Mbps throughput. The antenna can now see a neighbor's network some 300 yards away. At $40 it seems kind of pricey but it does the job quite well. The line between the base of the antenna and the connecter could be 18" longer for a little more flexiblity. If you are having problems with weak signal I can't say this will cure all your problems but is well worth a try.

Works great!! However, not using it in its conventional mannor. i purchased a pig tail to come off the WiFi radio in my laptop and connected the antenna to that. signal is much stronger but most of that is probably from being able to place the antenna in a better spot than my laptop can go. nothing else to compare it to...but i'm happy.

DON'T BUY IT, WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. MY DESKTOP WITH PCI CARD HAS IMPROVED SIGNAL, LAPTOPS HAVE VERY LITTLE IMPROVEMENT. THINK OF BUYING ANOTHER ROUTER AT SAME/LOWER PRICE, SUCH AS TP-LINK ROUTER.

i purchased this product for much more than how much Tiger Direct is selling it for. In either case, my Media PC is located in a basement in an extension of the house, the router is 2 floors up, and there's a big 2 foot solid brick (!!!) wall between the extension and upstairs. My stock belkin card often had dropped connections, sometimes every minute it would drop a connection. I hooked up this antenna to te stock card, and now enjoy excellent connection at 54Mbps. So do I think this antenna is wonderful? Not really, I think the connection improvement is mainly because this antenna has a 6 foot cord that allows me the mobility to find the optimal placement. In terms of construction, this is one of the better additional antennas out there. The antenna can swivel 360 degrees, the base is magnetic (careful keeping it too close to your hard drive, or old CRT monitors), and the base is mountable, comes with mounting screws, wall taps, and a template.

Put this on a DLink router. WiFi has so many variables involved, so I have been testing over several days comparing my original ant vs. this one. Used a spectrum analyzer and NetStumbler to measure performance. Actually reduced signal strength and SNR (with or without the rubber cap!) It does look nice and at least I got a TNC to SMA adapter out of the deal.

Originally bought to place on D-Link Wireless G router, signal was barely improved (+10% signal to computer furthest away).Decided to try this directly with the computer furthest away from the router, replacing the antenna from a Trendnet TEW-443PI Wireless PCI card, signal increased from 10% signal to 66% signal thru 2 floors! (Desktop is in Basement, router on 3rd floor).

Terrible!! I read all these reviews and settled on this item. It did nothing for me, in fact my signel is weaker since I put it on my computer. Only good thing about it is the nice looking base, it looks good doing nothing by my computer! HATE IT!!

Wow, who said it doesn't work? It increases my connection from 25% to 60% or more without even doing any adjustment! Now my internet speed is as fast as using wire connection, hurry and buy one while the rebate is still on. Thanks D-Link for a great product. I am thinking now should I change the antenna attached to my wireless router as well..... SPL

A cheap solution to your range problem.Remember its all in your router's/network card adapter's antenna so if you get rid of the original small ineffective antennae and replace them with this antenna then you will notice improvement. Remember there is a rubber cap on the top of this antenna do not remove it or you will loose some signal strength. Overall a great product !

My neighbour wanted to share my Wi-Fi about 160 feet away from my house and with 10 walls in between.Before this antenna she got 11 Mbps and frequent disconnections now with this antenna attached to my router she is getting 24 Mbps and she no longer has any disconnections.For the price and the effectiveness through so many walls and distance I am giving a rating of 5.

This product did a decent job for the price and the technology. As long as you understand that this is not a signal booster just a larger antenna. I was getting about 1 bar signal strength behind two brick walls and one standard wall and I got an increase to about 3 to sometimes 4 bars. I did have to play with the direction of the antenna a bit. But remember it is not a signal booster, if your router isn't sending a strong enough signal to begin with or is being deflected by another source, this may not help you.

I’ll be returning this antenna. It didn’t increase my connection by any bars on my Buffalo 802.11g router. My signal strength went from -62 to -55 (negligible), and I’m only 25 feet away through 2 interior walls. Save your money.

Pros: Improved connection by 2-3 bars average Cons: Wish it improved by 3-4 bars, could use a slightly longer cord. I bought this product to deal with low to no bars of wireless reception in an older brick building, with angled walls. Before the antenna was installed, I'd get zero to two bars, with a rare maximum of 3 bars. I was always losing my Internet connection, which was quite annoying, as a sporadic connection is suicide for online games. This improved my average connection from none/poor/fair to good, 3-4 bars always. No more reconnects or disconnects. I highly recommend this antenna, as it's the perfect match for my wireless card, also by D-Link.

bought it because of customers' review. thought it'd fix weak signal issue, but very regret buying this product. doesn't help the reception AT ALL. Same performance with the original router omni antenna. tried to tweak it in different angle and different place but no luck. sigh...

This antenna works great. It increased the reception on the workstation from sporadic/poor to very good to excellent. The only thing I wish it had was a little longer cable or the cable was replaceable.

I highly recommend this antenna. This desktop computer is 2 floors away from my router. I had 'no signal' to 'very low' signal under Windows XP on my desktop computer, even after adding Linksys High Gain (7 dB) antennas to my router. Adding this D-Link 7 dBi antenna to my D-Link DWL-G510 54 Mbps PCI card improved the signal to 'good'. I no longer have sporadic reception, and the speed of surfing the net went from sluggish at best to very fast (speed tests from 800-1500 kbps now). I use it with Linux as well and have similar results.

This 7db antenna by D-link is incredible. I had a desktop PC that has a D-link pci wireless card in it and never got an internet connection. (Best transfer rate was 1mb or so) Then I bought this antenna and simply unscrewed the small antenna that came with the card and screwed in this antenna with the 4' long cable. I then restarted my PC and wham!, I get 30mb (at least) transfer rate and a reliable connection. I would recommend this antenna to anyone suffering from poor/no connection to the wireless network. It also looks sharp, easy to install and D-link is a reputable brand in the wi-fi world. Also, TigerDirect is an awesome place to shop, great prices with extremely fast shipping. (Shipping costs aren't the most competitive though in my opinion.)

On the same day that I received it, I connected it to the back of my son's computer D-link DWL-G510 PCI Adapter and the signal went from 'very poor' or 'not available' to 'very good' just like that! Didn't even have to read the instructions that came with it. Awesome !

I always see mixed reviews for antennas - for some they help and some they don't. In my case using this antenna didn't make any difference. However, I purchased a Pre-N router, still using the wireless G cards in the PCs, and it made a HUGE difference in eliminated dead spots and increasing signal strength.

As a Dlink 'multi-product' owner, I am pleased to proclaim yet another quality product. The unit arrived quickly. In the box was an extra adapter to fit other products, however, the cable connector fit my Dlink DSM-320 perfectly. Everything about this unit is quality. The removable antenna is adjustable. The heavy-weighted base mount is even magnetized as well. I am pleased with the GAIN of the antenna since I live in an all-steel home. Dlink is my choice because of engineering, quality construction, and reliability... and did I mention is looks good too?

Before connecting this antenna to my D-link DI-524 router my best signal strenght was 40 and my best link quality was 56. My laptop was 75 ft away with a subfloor, lots of wiring and HVAC inbetween. After connecting the antenna both signal strenght and link quality significantly decreased! After fine tuning the antenna's position, signal strenght increased to 75 and link quality increased to 92. I recommend this product.

Bought this on sale for $40 to extend the range of a DI-624 throughout my house. It appears to work better than the stock antenna, but seems to drop the connections more often, even when you are in line of sight.
