ESATA/USB TO SATA EXT HD DOCK ADPT

I bought this along with 2 1.5TB saegate disks and it works as designed. I have 1 connected via the ESATA and 1 via USB and I am having problems. Not sure if it is Windows Vista or the external storage so I do not want to blame either. When I disconnect the USB drive in Windows I can power down the disk with no problems but when I do this with the ESATA disk and power off the disk it crashes Vista. I looked for drivers... but no help. So bewarned it may work for you or yo umay get the same issue, either way it is a good product, I just need to power down the disks due to power instability but if you leave it on it will run well. Hope this helps.

I've had mine several months. No problems what so ever. Love having two docks. Complaints about quality are a bit bogus. For the price and for how well it works. You're getting more than you paid for in my estimation. I'm going to pick up a single bay unit for work so I can transport a hard drive back and forth....

The first thing I noticed when getting the product is how short the cords were. This was not a huge issue for me but still disapointing. The connections looks like they are brittle and could easily break, but unless your going to carry it around with the HD in it you don't need to worry. The ability to swap HD's easily and fast is a def plus!!!! I can plug in a second HD and copy the data across and then remove it and plug another HD in and do it again.... very nice. I would recommend it to anyone looking to have multiple external HD's but doesn't want to spend the difference in money on the enclosures.

This is great for booting to a different OS (when using an eSATA connection.) Also, I have cloned a boot drive and then experimented with then booting to the cloned drive in the dock with adding software, etc. to ensure the system remains stable or software is worth installing. This is also great for just keeping large files (video, recorded TV, System backups, and etc.) off line so you don't have to have all your drives mounted internally (generating heat) and make use of older drives that are just laying around. Back up all those precious memories to a bare drive and keep it stored off site if you're really concerned about disaster. I have used 1TB drives in the dock with no issues. Hot swappable makes this very convenient for tasks mentioned above. You can use one eSATA and one USB and both drives are recognized by Win7.0RC (I didn't try with other OSs.) I have not compared to other similar products; this is the first dock I have owned.

Had about a month and has been in use almost daily Some complained about the drive was loose in holder. Not a problem. Use a plastic tapered door shim. Can not do without after having for a month!

This dock works great, plug and play on this product is so simple, works great. So nice to be able to change out hard drive storage without having to open the tower.

its perfect and it has 2 power buttons one for each drive thats great if you take someones else hard dive to scan for viruses it wont effect your other drive the only thing i dont like is if you hook it up esata you cant hook it up usb one drive esata one drive usb doesnt work other than that its perfect

This is my offices, second HD Dock, i was able to format and zero data on 12 drives the first week ihad this device, all drives passed, and the dock worked without incident. i dispose of and prepare for use, several drives per week, so this is very handy.

Works great! It's especially nice if you have to copy TWO external hard drives, one to the other. The hard drive insertion slots work OK, but aren't as 'tight' as my Thermaltake Dock. That's minor, though. I like the product. :-)
