EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
-need to be in a position to decode any 1080p video no problem-operates nicely with linux and VDPAU -gaming efficiency, this is not intended to be utilised for gaming-cost is as well high for the overall performance If you are looking for a great card for your HTPC, and you don't want any GT430 certain characteristics, get a GT240. NVIDIA is the way to go for your linux HTPC.

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Cons:Fan couldn't be set lower than 65% and at that level it is audible,it might be the loudest thing in your case but if you're looking for a silent solution, go fanless. Although the noise don't break the deal for me, that's the worst I could find against this.

Pros:Has VGA,DVI,HDMI
Comment:
Needed a card for an HTPC, read good reviews on the 400 series. Connecting it to my Denon receiver couldn't be more easier. As soon as I installed it, I had image over HDMI but no sound which was solved as soon as the newest drivers were installed (for HD audio). It runs my blu-rays without any problem and did not notice any lag for audio sync.I'm not deducting a star for the audio since I could always unplugged the fan or chosen a passive model. For me it's a 5/5 since it does exactly what I wanted, I'm not rating it for games since my intent is only for playing movies.

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
Most likely great for non-gamers Not excellent for games. This is an update to my previous assessment. I'm raising it to 3 eggs. My disappointment with this card was since I didn't do adequate analysis before purchasing it. NVIDIA's own website ranks it only among the GT220 and GT240 in efficiency, and ***substantially*** below the 9800GT (you can come across the ranking on the NVIDIA internet site in the file graphics_cards_acquire_now.html). The GT430 is probably fine for casual users searching to get a decent video card, but it isn't adequate for gamers or for people like me producing machinimas at high graphics settings in Second Life.I'll certainly return mine. I have a 9800GT and a GT260 in my two computers now; I'm weighing no matter if buying a GT460 would get me adequate efficiency improvement to justify the extra cost.

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
Its a quite good card for the cash, not truly produced for any type of gaming. Gets about 24-25fps on ultra with WoW, doesn't do tessellation really well in unigine benchmark ƒ-7fps) and barely does ten-15fps average in #Dmark11 the gt 240 DDR5 is a a lot better deal at ู immediately after rebate and it performs a small far better

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
Is genuinely a excellent card for low profile use that actually has some energy behind it. I had a 8400gs and this factor truly outperforms it, at least in a htpc application for hd recording and playback at accelerated settings NO FREAKIN LOW PROFILE BRACKET!! Brought me up 1 to 1.five points on windows 7 video efficiency

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
Works as promised. I hooked up the primary LCD monitor working with the DVI connection. The HDTV in the other room that I bought a VGA to VGA cable for plugged into the VGA connection of the card and the HDTV. Worked fantastic. Had to alter the BIOS from Internal to PEG/PCI then plugged a monitor on the VGA slot to configure. Directions weren't clear which plug to get started up with following installation. You have to use the VGA connector. Then install the drivers. Windows 7 64bit drivers worked perfectly. identified a issue with the use of the DVI and VGA combo. Here's what takes place. Turn on both HDTV and primary PC monitor with the PC Monitor on DVI. Turn off both screens. Make the HDTV screen extended display of the Main LCD. Turn on the HDTV only and the desktop shows up on the HDTV even though the DVI LCD monitor is defined as the primary. Turning on the main LCD often refreshes the desktop to main and sometimes doesn't.Second problem. Plug the Main LCD working with DVI and the HDTV as VGA. Turn on both screens and then alter the HDTV to PC mode. Then turn off the the HDTV and the Main LCD loses it's screen and goes black like there is no signal. Turn the HDTV back on and the main desktop on the Main LCD comes back fine. Now switch the HDTV to Tv mode and turn off the HDTV afte a few seconds. Similar issue. But if you turn the HDTV back on and wait 30-40 seconds, then turning the HDTV off although in Tv mode and not PC mode does NOT have an effect on the Primary LCD screen. If you can live with what I've just described in a Primary PC screen HDTV setup, then get this card cuz it worked excellent otherwise.

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Cons:None

Pros:+Silent+Better than most onboard
Comment:
Buyed this one to replace a brandless 8300 or 8400 that died in a Dell. Work great for some Autocad and watching HD movies. It's fanless so it's silent, but I suggest at least one fan in the whole case because it still get a little hot!

EVGA GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 01G-P3-1430-LR Video Card
Comment:
Wonderful efficiency for the price. Wonderful drivers from Nvidia, one fits all (upgraded from 7300LE which uses the very same driver). No manual except on CD. No speedy installation instructions relating to drivers. I put it into my son's Gateway GM5260 to replace a 7300LE. Overall performance was awful - PC fully stalled. Tried almost everything including video drivers, audio drivers due to internet reports on HDA, and even HDA audio board change. The problem turned out to be 4GB in Gateway, which apparently did not enable adequate space for the Nvidia driver to adequately run. Pulled 1GB and card efficiency was a significant jump over 7300LE. I design embedded x86 PCs.

Comment:
- HDMI 1.4a- HD Audio Bitstreaming- 3D Blu-ray support- Low profile- Near silent, fan doesn't operate unless required - Low HQV-HD scores- TMT3 doesn't support HD Audio Bitstreaming however, PDVD10 does. Only a matter of time though for an update. When the G 210 and GT 220 had been 1st released they had similar HQV-HD problems. I envision we will see a driver update that improves that HQV-HD score.
