+Amazing efficiency+Runs quiet+Did I mention this thing performs? Just requires a bigger capacity PSU but that's not a huge deal. I went from a 9400GT to this GTX 460. Let me tell you, there was a considerable jump. Prior to, I had to play BFBC2 on all of the lowest settings just to get a playable frame rate. With this card I set them all to the highest and it didn't even flinch. I highly advocate it.

Purchased this soon after reading a bang-for-the-buck review on Tom's hardware and am really pleased so far. With no hardware tweaking typical idle is around 35C and the highest I've observed it get is about 65C. WoW is running an typical FPS of 85 (outdoor) -130 (instance) on Ultra. Naturally some of the higher series cards offer a bit a lot more power, and the GTX470 has far better overall marks when it comes to HD playback. EVGA's Step-up program only makes it possible for for upgrading to stock (non-SC) models.Nonetheless, if you're searching for a spending budget friendly card perfectly capable of handling every thing but the most intensive GPU killing applications without having breaking a sweat, this is your card. I program on adding a 2nd card in SLI soon for video editing in AVID.CPU: i5-2500K 3.3MHzRAM: 8GB G-Skill RipjawsX 1333MHzHDD: WD Velociraptor 600GB 10,000rpm WD Caviar Blue 500GB 7200rpmMobo: MSI P67A-GD65PSU: Antec TruePower 750W

I upgraded from a gtx 260 core 216 have noticed significant gains as nicely as getting DX11. My FPS has jumped about an typical of about 15-20fps. I picked this card up for 赝 plus shipping which was about 7 or 8 dollars, so it was just under 赨. I strategy to get another to sli sometime in the subsequent 3 months when there is a game that will be more demanding at max settings. The temperatures are considerably lower, and the power usage is lower as nicely. The card is also a lot shorter than the gtx 260 that I had. The only con I can see at this point is if you want a bit more efficiency. For 趚 now you can get the geforce gtx 560 ti. From the benchmarks I've noticed this โ price distinction gets you about 25-30% far more fps on typical in comparison to the gtx 460 1gb. This is no surprise given that there is a difference in the number of Cuda core 384 vs 336. So is โ a great investment? If you're going to get 1 card, I would've possibly gone for the 560. Similarly priced setups and performance:踰 gtx 460 sli ƒ 460's would be even cheaper if you weren't gettting factory oc'ed versions)躔 gtx 580 麄 generally a little better in than two 460's as well as having the benefit of 1 card)跾 gtx 570 (โ cheaper but outperformed substantially by 2 gtx 460's)It's genuinely tough to say which is the finest. All I can say there are pro's and con's to every single setup and most are priced to reflect it.
