took out of box connected to laptop and was up and running in less than 2 min. have windows 7 64 bit and laptop didn't even slow down. good product have had about 3 weeks and no problem. handles ms student office with no problem

easiest plug and play product I've used. have my system backed up and plenty of room for additional storage. With some applications I am using it for the extraneous storage that I don't want to use my HD for (like archived soccer highlight video I keep for future use). I am very pleased with the product. One feature I have not used yet and want to do is the auto update on backup content.

my pc is full of every thing games,pictures programs personal&business ect.i installed and backed my computer & my other computer which has a lot on it. a total of 4 internal hard drives.every thing backed up with no problems at all & still has room for several other loaded down pcs .if & when i need another one this will be the one i buy thanks

I only use the usb ports, of this product. Storing movies in this product and watching them on a different computer, works great for me. I used this for a couple of weeks and there is no problem so far.

Very nice and quiet. Transfers pretty fast via usb 2.0. Setup was easy it was plug and play, so it was simple for my wife, who knows absolutely nothing when it comes to anything PC related...unless it's facebook. Would buy another for sure.

happy woth this choice, heavier duty thtan the usb powered. Backed up all my music and photos with plenty of room to spare. I would recomend this product, also came ntfs format so it was plug and play, even if it needed a format so what!

Got 12 of these to use in a database environment. One disk power switch broke. Contacted the manufacturer to get the switch since it was easy to open the case and pop the switch out. They informed me that they do not sell switches or any other disk components to anyone. If I wanted to get the switch fixed I would have to ship the entire unit. They will replace the faulty hardware. However they will not guarantee that the data on the disk will not get damaged. Unlike DELL and many other hardware vendors, they do not ship parts because their disks can cause electrocution if not done by them. So don't use these disks in any production environment because you probably cannot afford the time to keep your production environment down just to get the power switch fixed by shipping the entire unit.

Too many add ons to my family computers have created as many problems as solutions. This hard drive has provided an extremely easy means to help me catalogue the video files of family vacations and many of my student's musical performances that have had several computer's hard drives maxed out. This is my second purchase from your company-both have been the best price for the item with fast and easy to track delivery.

The hard drive was very easily installed on my Macbook Pro. It works quietly, coolly and seamlessly. It sits in my bedroom and is used for nightly backup and I never hear it so it is very quiet. When I use it, it seems as quick as any other hard drive.

When a 1TB drive costs the same as a 250GB, I had my doubts but this one came through with flying colors! The setup was simple and I had the whole office backed up within minutes!!

It's quiet, cool, and most of all it's well built. It has a high quality power connector that won't break over time. The eSATA works out of the box, but you have to supply the cable. If the eSATA doesn't work try 'trimming' your cable - some connectors are made too short and don't make contact - search it online and see what I mean. It's not a problem with the drive.

I bought this hard drive to put my music and videos on so I could reformat my hard drive. I don't have esata, so had to use the USB instead. It was very fast and easy to use. I would really recommend this to any one who wants or needs an external hard drive.

I've been using it for a month without a single problem. Quiet, runs cool, seems to transfer data fast. The bottom line is it serves the purpose I bought it for without a hitch. Can't ask for more than that.

I plugged in this drive and the computer instantly assigned it a drive letter. No Hassles of any kind. Reading and writing to this drive is quick and I love having this much storage space.

The case is sturdy but the USB cable that comes with this drive is very cheap. The drive takes a few seconds to spin up whenever you first try to access it. The drive WD10EAVS has a small 8 meg cache.

Because, I only have USB at this time, my first backup was about five hours long. Since then, they have been only a few minutes. The drive is quite and runs cool. I am very happy with it's performance with the Green Drive by Fantom Drives. I would by another one without a second thought. Also, your company has some great prices.

Drive works very good. Only suggestion would be to include an Esata cable with the hard drive. I had to purchase a cable seperate. Speed of Esata is very good. I back up my work files on my laptop. Takes about half the time as USB.

It's a GREAT hard drive, silent, never gets hot, and it's very fast. I have had it for a few months, and it has worked perfectly. Plus its green and silent :D A deal better than this you won't find!

After looking at transfer speeds I bought this drive to run under eSata. I've found moving files between large disks via USB 2.2 excruciatingly slow. Once I configured AHCI, I can hot plug this drive and power it up only when making backups, making it even more green as well as making the drive run longer. I find that getting more than 5 years out of a hard drive that runs continuously as mine do is courting a drive failure and which necessitates recovery operations. Linux is the best at that - even for Windows (ntfs) drives. I expect to buy more similar backup drives in the future and use the eSata hot plugging technique when I run my backups.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it. He has used it to back up 4 computers with plenty of room to spare. It was a great price too.
