I took it out of the box and it worked perfectly. I only hooked it up to a single PC using the USB Port. When I loaded it up, all went fine. The unit runs super cool. No Issues whatever.

I've only been using this drive for a few weeks but so far so good. Fast transfer speeds using e-sata connection. After copying over 300Gb's of data the drive gets warm but that is to be expected. Serves its purpose as a backup drive for my server. Would have been nice if it came with an e-sata cable but still a good deal.

I've used a lot of internal and external hard drives before. Some worked well, some not so well. Fantom drives are always reliable for me; generally decent prices for well made machines. This model, in particular, is excellent.

I am using this one as a network drive on the home network. I didn't want any back-up software for the drive, so that was perfect in this case. Unit is quiet and works perfectly. Not having any problems after about 5 weeks.

Does what it says, but it could be a little cheaper considering a lot of 1 TB externals are in the hundred dollar range.

great price for a really good machine. does all of what I need, and if I didnt see it I wouldnt know it was there. its just that quiet

Not a bad unit for the price, Seems a little slow when accessing however does what we need it to do.

Had this drive for about a month now. It is so quiet. You don't hear it at all when it sits there not hooked up to anything. The USB is a little slow so i would advise that if you are able to hook up via eSATA do it!! It is the perfect drive for me. It fit all of my music and movie files on there and it has lots of room left for backing up important stuff. Glad I went with this product. Worth every penny.

I've had it for 6-7 months now and it still runs fine. It's nice since it has the sata option aswell as the usb.

Product is exactly as advertised. Runs cool and silent, good transfer rate. Be aware, esata cable not included.

I bought two to use with our servers. One for backing up files on a Mac server and the other for storing archived video and transferring file. They both run quietly, quickly, and were easy to set up and use. I've only been using them for a couple of weeks so far but they're everything I'd hoped for and more.

Super drive! This is my second one as I am currently deployed and needed a traveling model for the desert. Works well.

Picked it up yesterday. I've moved a bunch of big files over already. The only problem I had was that its shipped formatted as a FAT32 drive. To transfer files over 4gb onto it you need to reformat it as a NTFS drive. (In windows simply right click on the drive and click format. Select NTFS and your off to the races. Will erase all files currently on drive. Google drive converting if thats an issue.) Its quiet, its fast... I'm happy. (BTW I achieved tranfer rated of right about 100mb/s with an eSata conection.)

I bought this a little while ago, and have only experienced one hiccup. I use it as a backup drive for media, work documents, and anything else important. I've only formatted it twice, and use it probably once a week. The only problem I had was when I tried to backup the entire computer onto it, and Windows said it encountered a "bad segment" and had to stop. No other problems whatsoever. Make sure to use eSATA though, as USB can be slow for big data moves.

Originally I had purchased one of these drives and after a month of using it I was happy so I decided to get another. A few months after I started to notice the reliability of the data was not good. I realize I may have over worked the hard drive with downloading and filling it up within a month, but the second drive I got has not had the same treatment and it runs just fine with no data cycllic redundancy yet. so I consider this drive to be a hit or miss kind of deal.

The drive is very quiet and cool. The only grip is that I have two computers that I was wanting to share this with seamlessly; one USB, one eSata. I have a USB switch that allows me share seven devices and I can share the Phatom between the two computers. But I can't hook one computer via eSata and the other USB.

Bought one of these drives months ago, just bought two more for backup use. Does a very nice job. One of the two newer drives had a defective power switch, but it was stuck ON, not OFF - this seller replaced it quickly and without issue. Other than this issue, nothing major to report.

i've had my fantom drive for a couple weeks now. it does what it's expected to do, and it works fast. no issues. only downfall is that it's a little pricey (with a warranty)

Very nice hard drive. Quiet, easy operation. The operation manual is ok to a point, but I would have preferred more help in the organization of files. What's a partition? How do I set up the drive to separate between 2 different computers? And so on.
