After needing some more media storage on my laptop, I decided to buy this drive rather than upgrade my internal drive. Since purchasing in October 2008, the drive has been running 24/7 without any issues whatsoever. It does not run hot (barely even warm), runs virtually silent, and looks great while doing so. Just yesterday, I received shipment on one more of these and both now running successfully in a RAID 0 array via eSATA. Awesome product Fantom...keep it up!

I purchased this drive to replace a 500GB My Book that died after 15 months. (The My book only had a 12 month warranty.) This drive is build very solid, runs much cooler than the My Book or a 1TB Iomega drive I also own. Plus it came with a two year warranty.

This thing is as close to silent as you can get. No more watching movies to the tune of a loud fan: this HD is extremely quiet. It functions well, transfers are fast, and it comes pre-formatted in FAT32 (a flawed format, considering the 4 gig file limit, but it's the only reliable cross-platform format). And this is among the least expensive TB drives I could find: a great product for an even better price. Win. :D

Anyone that requires the option of eSATA and the versatility of USB but also requires a large amount of space that won't tax your electricity bill can't pass this up. This drive is a solid performer, and looks good doing it!

I now have two of these things. I filled up the first one within a few months and liked it so much I ordered a second. I like the fact that it's relatively small, has it's own stand, is virtually silent and runs cool to the touch. It also has an on/off switch at the back which I find convenient. When I fill the second one up I'll probably get a third. Best external hard drive I've ever had.

Bought this drive to do full system backup of my computers. Easy to install-just plug it in. Already formatted. Quiet, cool running.

I've been using my greendrive for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. It's incredibly quiet, and runs very cool. I am very impressed with the speed of the drive, even via usb 2.0.

Great product, works automagically. Ample space, transfers seemed fast enough (backing up 350 gb of music and videos). I have two of the same drive, slightly different manufacture styles on each, but both work wonderfully as a failproof backup array.

Plug and play for sure. Windows XP recognized it quickly. USB fast enough for me. Have not tried other options. Formating took a while, but expected due to the size. I let format overnight. Never got hot. In fact, barely warm. No Fan, does not need one. Although I do not keep it on constantly. Power button is a major plus. Does not come with software for auto backup. I prefer manual back up anyway. 2 year warranty. Can't be more satisfied.

I purchased this drive primarily for another level of data protection for our files. I installed the unit about 2 months ago and the unit has performed perfect so far. Installation was easy and all is well. I do recommend this product. I was a bit nervous because of the price but completely confident today.

Had it for several weeks with no problems. I use sync toy to copy files between laptop and the Fantom drive. I agree with most posts.

I have had the drive for 3 weeks and it has perform good. The drive is faster at booting up than my 2 750mb Seagate drives. Other reviews say that the drive was formated FAT32, but my drive was already formated NTFS. I will probably buy another one soon.

I was very happy with the speed and the versatility of the Fantom Green Drive external hard drive. Has more then enough room and its easy to set up. Also very quite!

This is a great and HUGE little storage appliance. It comes preformatted in FAT32 (quite universal) but I regret not formatting it to NTFS prior to storing everything on it. Just thought I would alert potential buyers to this. Very pleased with its size, capacity and sturdiness!

So far, everything written below applies to this comment: Loooooooonnnnnng format (like 9 hours?! my computer did go to sleep at one point though, that might have added to the time). Fairly quick recognition when connected and works very well with multiple laptops running multiple OS. Lower price than mom's 500 Gig brand name drive. Feeling the love.

Excellent value as expected! Takes a while to format, but we're talking one after all! Very easy to use and setup! Can't believe how much capacity this really is!

Had it a month with no problems. Easy to set up and use. Makes a great backup drive for media and you can't beat the price. It Copied files quickly for me under Windows XP using the USB cable that was included.
