4 stars mainly because I am only commenting to customers who could not know computers as nicely as they think they do and simply because I havent purchased the board (yet) myself. If your video card is not showing video, you may well have to go into the bios and set your default display as the pci-e video card. I had to do that on my existing high finish board so its just a thing you have to know to take benefit of it! none I wish newegg allowed you to msg individuals who left evaluations so you could attempt to enable them 1 on 1!!

All the legacy ports like serial and parallel and VGA and IDE and PSǘ. Good for revamping old XP systems. Does NOT help AM2 CPUS-thats in all probability why the reviewer before me bent his pins. Great good quality-no fans, runs cool. Supports the least expensive thirty five dollar single core cpus all the way up to multi core cpus. XP reinstalls with out a hitch. I am a reseller and i am getting five a lot more. thats a tough a single. perhaps missing HDMI or much more rear USBs. Pretty minor Dont forget the DDR3 RAM and ONLY use AM3 CPU's

Its low cost. Got it to function right after a month. I was really frustrated with this motherboard. Following installing the operating program performance was terrible. The mouse would freeze and jump on the screen and playing Call of Duty 4 on the lowest settings was not possible. The next problem I encountered was with the onboard NIC. The DVD driver mentioned that the device could not be identified. I downloaded the most up-to-date driver from the Foxconn site with the very same result. With Vista and XP I am unable to connect to a network. On the other hand I tried employing Windows 7 ultimate x86 and it located a generic driver for the NIC and it operates. Lastly right after going into device manager and looking for the NIC manually it appears to have made the personal computer understand that it exists. Then the original dvd driver worked. The onboard video nevertheless has worse video than a cheap laptop. Ultimately I was able to get rid of my random BSOD errors by running my DDR3 1333 ram at 9-9-9-24 timings rather of the 7-7-7-21 I paid for. Also it seems a lot more stable with XP than Vista. The wording is quite poor English as nicely "The Realtek Network Controller was not discovered. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." That quote is word for word. It doesn't even make sense. Also the motherboard I received had a bios that was not for production. The foxlive bios update utility did not function either. I had to burn a disc to update the bios. Also this motherboard can not read CPU temperatures below 104 degrees F. Foxconn help seems responsive and polite however basically useless. Seemed straightforward to hook almost everything up. Would be excellent design, if it worked. Hooked every little thing up and installed the chipset and drivers on the disc, next tried to connect to web to download updates from M$. It does not identify the LAN NIC. Immediately after installing three diverse drivers and chipsets, though it tells me I don't have a Network Controller, nothing at all works. Lan is enabled in BIOS, Power Management settings on S1. So i tried to install the GPU, still won't recognize that either. Just has 3 "PCI Express Regular Root Port"s that have yellow '!' saying it can't find sufficient free resources.Think I will be talking to Newegg to get an RMA here soon if it doesn't start out working... Also it might have been my Case, but I had to fabricate my own wire for the Energy LED lead to my case had a three hole plug and the MB only has two. no biggie there.

I have had a 6100 graphics chip on an ASUS motherboard and it has been operating for that past 5 years. I am extremely content with it. It produces 32 bit graphics for a 1680x1050 display. Drivers are obtainable for each operating method that I have used. A post on Nvidia web page claims to have achieved a 315 frames per second refresh rate. five times quicker than 60 frames per second progressive scan which is Tv high quality. It is operating properly with three CAD packages that I use on each day basis. None on 6150 graphics processor. It is unfortunate when individuals express opinions that are not accurate or not their personal. I have gone on a wild goose-chase just before. Not going there once more. I read client ratings with a grain of salt. I rely mainly on manufacturers spec and analysis out the spec very carefully prior to committing myself to a acquire.

The board arrived. The board functions. My board arrived with an particularly old BIOs - 966F1P01 (and in truth the post screen mentioned it was an engineering bios..... go figure)In common I like foxconn boards, but why oh why can't they make it simpler to do a BIOS upate? My board also arrived with the CMOS jumper in the clear position. I didn't double verify that till I was obtaining problems booting the board - lucky for me it didn't fry the BIOS chip when I booted the first time. My guess is that an individual ought to have currently had this board at one particular point in time, either that or the people today operating the shop floor don't pay substantially attention to what pins they jump to either save the BIOS or clear the BIOS.

Low costSpecs matched my feature needsNewegg saved the day with a wonderful return policyIt convinced me to stick with AsRock (which rocks) * Shipped to me with an "engineering bios - not for production release"* Shipped to me with the jumper in CMOS reset mode, but the manual has the diagram backwards so I didn't recognize it until immediately after a lot of trial and error.* When the BIOS was flashed to a thing new, the technique worked but was unstable. It wouldn't power on unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and occasionally it randomly BSODs I most likely just got a negative board, but I wasted a lot of time due to poor assistance and documentation. Foxconn support replies had been fantastically inept and in broken english. Right here's a single exchange for your amusement:...Dear Foxconn,The method will not boot with my PCIe Card placed.I have tested the card in an additional system and it operates fine. When I remove the card, the program will boot.Memtest ᄢ says my memory is fine.Dear Eric,If so, we suggest the you speak to the us rma to support verify this concern at this number 1.909.978.6556 .For engineering use bios indicates that the BIOS is only for engineering and it needs a additional testing to release a public bios based on this version.Greatest regards,Foxconn Technical Support

Extremely uncomplicated to set up. Runs strong as a rock. Stuck a X2 555 in it and bought this mobo with the understanding that I didn't want to try and unlock the other cores. I read that it was a roll of the dice. Place the dual channel DDR3 1300 4 gig. Did I mention that it runs cool and quiet even with the stock fan.Operating Linux 64 from a stick proper now. I ordered my operating method the day soon after ordering the hardware. Um like a pig in poop.

Incredibly straightforward to assemble. Nice layout, I personally wanted to gigabit NIC due to the fact everything in the house is wired 1000T except the Roku, yet another streaming device and of course, the printer. I have an old Microsoft USB keyboard, and when I hook it up to USB the boot procedure often halts on a "no keyboard" error. In order to use some of the functions of this keyboard, it has to be connected to USB. I can't come across a way around the PS2 keyboard in the bios I was hoping the manufacturer would address the problem on the subsequent bios update.

Low price board. Received in fantastic condition from newegg. Just as various other evaluations have complained about - this board was dead when I got it. Onboard video doesn't function at all. Got anything installed properly such as case wires etc, method will not successfully boot. Method fans will all turn on and it sounds like the system is booting, but will display no video. Even tried adjusting the clear-CMOS switch as indicated by other evaluations. Still dead.Returning this board and will attempt a replacement.

Great cost, anticipate what you paid for. No heat troubles. Helped me rebuild a trashed computer. My IDE DVD/CD burner refuses to burn something with this mobo... and it is NOT a faulty drive. Also for the duration of boot of ubuntu ten.04 GDM refuses to start off. The installed nvidia driver supposedly supports the chipset on here so i do not understand why I can see nothing but colorful squares in the place of the text on the virtual console (Ctrl+Alt+F2). Could anybody help? Soundcard has muiltiple output channels under Windows if you use the supplied driver.... Not so significantly under linux

It's about as very good as I would hope a mobo to be. No installation difficulties. Nothing too exceptional, at least for what I'm employing it for. It functions fine and met expectations. The only issue I had with it was with Ubuntu. I had difficulty installing the OS (it would hang), but don't know if I'd blame the board for that. Working with the Alternate rather than Desktop install disk got around that. Anyway, right after install, Ubuntu sees the built-in NIC as only 10MB. With out much effort you can get it to see the complete 1000MB though. Aside from the unexpected nic driver problem, which was easily resolved, it's appears like a perfectly fine systemboard. It came with two SATA cables, which was excellent since it turned out I required 1.

Very good priced board. Had all I necessary for a BeyondTV recording box. Bios that came on the board was 4 versions old and stated Engineering only- Not for Production use.Raid controller Disapeared following a reboot. A Windows update might have caused a conflict.Raid controller see's my 4TB stripped array of two 1.8TB disks as 1.63 TB. I believe the Raid chip, (Dated 2007) is so old it has no notion what three.6 TB of formatted space is... Windows 7 64 bit Shows the correct Size though. I had this operating for a couple of days recording a bunch of content onto a 4 TB array of two two TB hard drives in a Raid . Immediately after a windows update my Raid disapeared. Fighting with it all day I finally out of desperation rebuilt the array wiping the information. It still didn't show up. Lastly a download of the newest nVidia chipset driver from Foxconn Web-site fixed the issue, but my information is gone, oh effectively, wasn't that vital, if it was I wouldn't be operating Raid .If you get this board, toss the disk in the trash and download every little thing new from the website. Update your Bios initially with a old floppy installed. You can do it inside windows with the FoxConn update. For some reason the On the internet Update said I was up to date, but when I manually downloaded the new Bios I was four versions behind....

If everything works out as effectively as I hope, this is a great low-cost way to get up on DDR3, AM3, and gigabit LAN in a Micro-ATX format. I believe they shipped me an open box item, due to the fact the box was not closed correctly when I received it.Like reviewer wevsspot, my board's CMOS jumper was in the "clear" position when I got it. This lead to a lot of boot challenge headaches (like not showing something with the PCIe card inserted, and creating post beeps like it was a parity concern).I read wevsspot's review, and believed I'd check the jumper. The manual makes it look like the jumper is in the common position, but it was not. (maybe this is why Foxconn's QA is messing these up)Now I have to update my bios from version 966F1P01 (boo). I shouldn't have to do this on a board I just bought. If you have boot difficulties or your post screen says "Engineering Release - Not For Production Build 061010.three", your CMOS jumper could be in the clear position--don't trust the manual for this jumper. The manual otherwise seems great.I could or may well not have to return this item, depending on how great I really feel about the program's stability after updating the BIOS. I'm surprised with how nicely this budget board works. I'm one for avoiding micro boards, specifically the inexpensive ones, but this thing is really a high quality product. Almost everything works and is entirely stable. Finest part is right after hooking everything up, it booted the 1st time and gave me completely no problems. I'm very satisfied with it. Couldn't find any overclocking characteristics (not truly a big deal) and the instruction manual is horrible. It is basically a fold out pamphlet with images and some words on it. Also it's printed in just about each language recognized to man so it was impossibly difficult to find the english section. I didn't attempt the onboard graphics (I put an HD 3870 in it) so I have no idea how superior the onboard is but it's secure to say the onboard won't get you really far beyond watching a video or rendering the Windows 7 desktop or perhaps playing 10 year old games.
