Cons: none

Pros: silentquality feel to itsimple designoptional fan vents
Comment:
Switching to a case that is designed to be quiet made a huge difference in noise level. Not only does this case look great, but it has a quality feel to it as well. I had no problems installing my massive cpu heatsink (the Thermalright Silver Arrow). I like that the hard drive trays are made of metal instead of plastic.

Cons: build quality

Pros: Silent, cable management, asthetics
Comment:
Very nice looking case, looks better than I thought it would in person. Love the cable management system and how silent it runs. It's a bit cramped to build in but manageable.Case came cracked but NCIX quickly shipped out a replacement front panel.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: Case covers hard to put back in place.

Pros: Super quietNice HDD bay configurationRoomyEasy cable management
Comment:
Before switching to this case, my computer sometimes sounded like a vacuum cleaner. It's now barely audible--quiet enough that I kind of miss listening to the sounds for diagnostic reasons. Not really complaining, though. It's also big enough to fit my Radeon 5850, although getting the power connectors in the back of the card was a little tight.Unlike some other people, I found nothing wrong with the sound dampening material. Everything was tightly in place upon arrival. What I did have trouble with was getting the case covers back on. It took some brute strength to get them off, and getting them back on (barely) actually required bending metal tabs to make an easier fit. Other than that, it's perfect and looks really tough.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: Heavy for small case...Some part feel cheap made but its not that bad.

Pros: Silent and great option for more fan. Good quality overall. Good price for it.
Comment:
If you looking for silent case. Its the case that you want. Its little bit small but if you want bigger there are the XL. I have also the 800D so thats why I saying this. Overall I like it. Good quality case and good option for more air flow. Many space for more hard drive. I suggest to use a 120mm fan for the bottom of the case because with the PSU, it can be tight. I use 140mm and my PSU wire dont have space and its tight.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: - The sound dampening material of the side pannel was partially unglued

Pros: - WOW !- Great sleek look- uber quiet- Feels of great quality- equipped with hole for HS's backplate- Can hide cables behind mobo
Comment:
I was really excited to build a gaming PC for a friend with this case because I'm a big fan of silent PCs and I wasn't deceived with this case !First it looks awesome ! It doesn't look like a Transformers, it's very sleek, of good taste for anyone, and having only 1 blue led looks good. The build quality is really beyond my expectations, and as soon as I opened the front door I was surprised with it's good feel and quality. Even the doors giving access to the front fan filters are nice !With all the sound dampening material inside it's almost funny to see the weight of the side pannels ! Each unused optionnal fan slots are closed with this material so it's dead silent if you don't add more fans. It's even keeping a EVGA GTX470 SC silent while gaming !I fitted a CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ inside with ease, HDD racks (with grommets) accept SSDs.If I'm to make another build I'll sure push to buy this case again !Only two little downside :- during transport (i guess) the sound dampening material of the side pannel got unglued, easily fixed it with a heatgun to reheat it and replace it- the rubbers can be easily removed when passing cables behind the mobo, must take care of keeping them in place while doing it This review was modfied by poster o 02-09-11 11:51 AM This review was modfied by poster @ 02-10-11 09:32 AM

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: wire management Grommets fall out way to easily

Pros: Great build quality
Comment:
I built a system for a customer in one of these babies and it's a very nice case. It reminds me alot of the Antec P108 (I believe that's the name) In my opinion this case is better than the latter. While doing wire management the grommets were a pain in the ass, fix them when you're done of the management. Other than that it was a great experience to build out of the case. Build quality is excellent.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: I hate the rubber inserts.

Pros: Quiet! Sturdy, Minimalistic look, Cable routing, easy back of motherboard access
Comment:
I am a die-hard antec man and wanted to try something else. This case is awesome. I love almost everything about it. It looks professional - none of this ridiculous "gamer" case garbage. One small LED under the power button is perfect. Feels super sturdy. convienient hard drive trays with rubber mounts. Fans are decent. Filters are a plus. The only thing I can't stand is the rubber rings where you pull the cables through - they come out super easy when the cable so it defeats the purpose. Wish they were bonded to the case somehow.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: One side panel doesn't line up 100% and the rear mount sticks out about a 1/4 of an inch. Sound deadening wasn't stuck on to either side panel very well

Pros: Solid design, looks great, quiet.
Comment:
Besides the few flaws mentioned above this case has been great. Cable routing could be better but it does the job well. Lots of space for spare hard drives also.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: depth behind motherboard plate is a little on the shallow side

Pros: stylevery quietlots of HDD space
Comment:
Overall this case is excellent. Its very sleek and stylish, VERY quiet (even with 7 fans running), has many spots for HDDs and the white accent parts look pretty nice too.One drawback I encountered was during the build. The space on the backside of the motherboard plate, where you can feed your powersupply and other wires around, is a bit on the shallow side. I found that after everything was hooked up, I had to re-manage the wires a few times and push it down to get the back cover on again. That aside, I am still very impressed with the case!Plus all the included screws are black instead of silver, that's pretty awesome too.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Easy wire management, Safe and secure hard drive fastening, Simple design looks sexy
Comment:
Installing the case never felt so easy until I bought this case. The case allows you to place your wires in such ways where it won't conflict or look messy. There are 8 hard drive slots, way too many for my use, but too many is better than too little. Overall nice case and awesome design. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Fractal Design case for my next custom build :).

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: Only issue I have with this case is how heavy it is. Particularly the side panels.

Pros: Incredibly sturdy, great cable management, sleek minimalistic design is simple yet beautiful. Packed full of noise dampening material so you won't have to worry about noise.
Comment:
While it is marketed as a quiet case, its also capable of superior airflow by removing the noise dampening material and metal plates for more fan slots. All in all, a great case that I won't be replacing until they decide to change the standard ATX board layouts.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: Door should open from the left.

Pros: Looks, easy to work in, well made.
Comment:
In the past, I have usually bought Antec, Cooler Master, or Silverstone, but no more. This Fractal Design was actually enjoyable to work in. Plenty of tie-downs; all the HD trays are also drilled for SSD drives; Lots of room around the MB; filtered intakes, as well as a dedicated PSU intake with a removable filter. This case has been well thought out and is just as quiet as my P180, with better cooling. Highly recommended.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: No bracket for external 3.5" bay, no 2.5" bay for SSD installation, maybe it's too quite

Pros: Super silent, 8 3.5" drive bays
Comment:
Wow. This has to be the best case for under $100. When I opened it up, it just spilled quality construction. The white drive trays (8 of them), the latches on the 5.25" bay covers and the foam padding just scream good quality. When I turned the system on, I had to open the case up to make sure it was actually running. The case fans are amazing. Definitely way better than anything that Antec, Coolermaster, NZXT or any of the other major case manufacturers have. For under $100, it can't be beat.

Cons: Only 2 supplied fans1 rubber groment on hdd tray was ripped (minor)Front panel door doesn't have a lot of space (for knobs)Side panel can be a pain to closeOnly 1 single LED light

Pros: Great silent case out of the boxIncluded fan controllerGreat build quality
Comment:
Great silent case out of the box, doesn't require much work. Works great with NH-U12P heatsink on AMDs that are north-south facing, as there is a 2x120-140mm fan mounts at the top, just throw in a couple of fans and good to go.As with other readers, wire routing holes have flimsy rubber, just hold them in place while routing wires.

Pros: Enought room to install stuff comfortably.Silent as intended to be.Nice look from the outside.Cheap price with highend features.
Comment:
This clean designed case is a very affordable and silent one. I'm very satisfied of the product that does what is mentionned about: Well ventilated, quiet and got space to work inside. I've been happy of finding a fan controller to even more silent the computer. Great choice for that price bracket.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: hdd installation should move to tool less

Pros: Looks, noise, # of HDD bays, price, cooling
Comment:
Excellent looking case that packs so many hdd bays into such a relatively small case. Lots of places for fans and fans that comes with the case are quiet. I installed 7 hdds in this case, the cable management features were decent. My only issue with this case is that it should come with tool less installation for HDDs.

Fractal Design Define R3 Black ATX Mid Tower Silent Computer Case 2X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Front USB
Cons: Front fan filter are not clip in/out. Uses screwsStill have to use screws for hard drives but they have holes for 2.5" drives.Cable holes to small. rubber grommets come out.Power supply cables will block bottom fan.Not enough space between fan mesh and fan on the side panel. Airflow makes a high pitched noise, should be bulged out like the rear fan.

Pros: Isn't too large so it fits in most desk compartments.Padding to keep noise down. Can close vents so you don't have sound coming out like every other case available.8 hard drive slots.
Comment:
This case has lots of different configurations for whatever you need. If you want more fans I recommend Fractals case fans if you wish to stay quiet. Cable routing is tedious with this case and you are better off just removing the grommets from the holes you are going to use
